We are excited to share with you our renovation and upgrade plans for 2013! To the second floor bedroom, which is just off the great room, we will be adding an ensuite bathroom. Two existing bathrooms will be updated as well. The floor in the kitchen is being refinished. While the formal dining room and living room floors will be restored to their original hard wood.
Located on the grounds of the beautiful Stage Neck Inn oceanfront resort, Stage Neck Cottage is a magnificent “turn of the century” shingle-style home. The cottage is just steps away from the exclusive York Harbor Beach and Stage Neck Pool and Tennis Club. Rental of the cottage includes a membership to the Stage Neck Pool and Tennis Club, in season, during the stay. Rental also includes full use of resort facilities, including indoor pool, Jacuzzi, fitness room, sauna, and Stage Neck Spa. Usage is for up to sixteen people.
The cottage is unique as it is situated at the mouth of the York River and harbor only steps away from the beach. The views are spectacular. The vast blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean stretch out before you, all the while the hustle and bustle of local lobster boats resonate through the harbor. This luxurious summer cottage from an era gone by boasts over 10,000 square feet of well-appointed living space; the cottage provides plenty of room for family and friends to spend time together enjoying all the wonders of York Harbor.
While just steps away from the sandy beach with sun-filled days of tide pooling, surfing and swimming, the cottage is just a short drive from live music, theaters, outlet shopping, award-winning restaurants and outdoor activities, such as kayaking, biking, and hiking.
The grand front entrance stairs lead up to the expansive deck, which surrounds the formal living room, dining room and sun filled breakfast room with incredible views of the harbor and beach. The views of York Harbor continue to the back of the house into the gourmet eat-in kitchen and state-of-the-art entertainment center with flat screen TV and surround sound.
Up the stairs from the formal living room are two master suites with full baths, sitting areas and ocean views. One suite has a king bed, spacious sitting area, walk-out balcony, Jacuzzi, and separate shower. The second suite has a king bed, full bath with a private separate space, perfect for a baby or small child. The third room at the back of the house has two twin beds and a full bath.
Below the formal living area are three bedrooms on the ground floor. The first room has a king size bed and sitting area with a pull-out couch. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a private sitting area and the third bedroom has two twin beds and a separate play area. The ground level is surrounded by a private wrap around deck and flower gardens.
Enjoy peaceful afternoons on the grand porch experiencing the sights, smells, and sounds of coastal Maine. Stretch out on the hammock by the garden and become enthralled in a world off the beaten path, void of stress and deadlines; leave time behind…and relax.

The cottage at Stage Neck Inn exceeded our expectations. The Home Away description was more than accurate. The house was clean and welcoming. Any problems we had (with the refrigerator and the grill) were immediately addressed by the courteous staff. We would definitely recommend this property to any large family or group looking for a relaxing, wonderful vacation in southern Maine. This spacious house on 3 levels overlooking York Harbor provided the perfect location for our five children, spouses and grandchildren to enjoy the beach, tennis, outdoor pool, indoor pool and sauna (all within walking distance). The kitchen was well equipt with a double drawer dishwasher, sub zero fridge, 2 additional vegetable crisper drawers, Viking range, large oven,indoor grill, and 2 microwaves. The Butlers pantry had a dishwasher and bar refrigerator. A large fridge/freezer at the ground level entrance was handy for cooling drinks and watermellon. We recently spent a 3 day weekend at this glorious house with 7 couples. It was amazing with beautiful views of the harbor and the ocean on either side. We luckily also had gorgeous weather to sit on the front lawn and enjoy the sunshine and company of old friends. A little too cool for the beach. Gourmet kitchen which we used for all meals was very large and accomodating. The property was very clean and well maintained and plenty of towels for the guests were available. Most of the bedrooms were over sized and with views of the water as well. It was a perfect setting for the 14 of us to enjoy and plenty of room for all of us to be together or to escape to a quiet area if you chose. A great house for a couple of families or large group like ours to share. We will look no further to rent again next year and we are already looking forward to it.Owner response: Thank you so much.
