Brightwater Cay condo description
New Vacation Rental, be one of the first to stay here!
Your vacation is a special occasion and we offer you a very special place to experience it. Relaxing after a day on or near the water you look out of your living room through oversized sliding glass doors to a mesmerizing view of the tranquil waters of Clearwater Bay. Everything about your condo suite has been thoughtfully designed. There is a modern Key West/ West Indies style to the furnishings to insure you get away even when you’re indoors. Sony HD flat screen TV with premium cable channels & Blu-Ray player disk player as well as WiFi Internet gives you access to the outside world only when you want it. The baths treat you like royalty from the seamless glass shower enclosure w/ Grohe fixtures in the main bath to the Kohler soaking tub in the master. There are many subtle touches that echo our thoughts of wishing you a pleasant stay from Wolfgang Puck cookware to leaded crystal wine glasses to acrylic tropical glassware for those frozen libations you want to savor outside on the patio.
If it’s time to be outside you can be as leisurely or adventurous as you like. Clearwater Beach is a barrier island that spans approximately one and a half miles from end to end. It has a trove of treasures to be discovered almost anywhere you look. There are restaurants from casual outdoor cafes to fine dining and almost every type of cuisine can be found. There is the new Beachwalk, a winding beachside promenade w lush landscaping and clear views to Clearwater’s award-winning sugar-sand beach and the waters beyond. If you don’t feel like walking there is a Jolly Trolley which for a nominal fare (day/week passes available)will whisk you around to points of interest all along the beach including the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, the family aquatic center (state of the art swimming facility) its neighboring tennis center and can even connect you with the mainland. At the center of Clearwater Beach you will find the Marina which is a hub for all sorts of activities on the water. It offers sightseeing cruises on Pirate ships, elegant dinner boats, sailboats, jet boats and more. Even more adventurous, you can go fishing on a party boat or charter one for your party privately; there are boats to take you diving or para-sailing and even rent jet skis.
If you feel like expanding your search of the area, Clearwater and its surrounding cities offer world class Golfing, Tennis, the arts, museums. Little more than an hour’s drive you will find one of the most incredible amusement parks in the world, Busch Gardens, Tampa. You can make your vacation here what you want. From idle relaxation to a jam packed adrenaline inducing stay, your choice. At the end of the day you will have your beautiful, well equipped condo to plan what (or what not) is on the agenda for tomorrow.
If you feel like sharing your vacation with more guests than can be accommodated in your condo, please ask about availability of our adjacent vacation rental unit. We look forward to having you stay with us!

in my humble opinion
in my humble opinion
We were in unit #2, but 1 and 2 are identical, mirror images of each other. Feels more like a hotel than a home. The decor is lovely, but not at all "beachy." The living room furniture is pretty, but only a sofa and a chaise - you can just seat 4 and that's tight. Only light in the living room is a small track light fixture that does nothing. There are no lamps, so you can't read while sitting on the sofa. Only light in the dining room is a small sconce on the wall - not enough to eat by. The kitchen is gorgeous BUT the fridge door doesn't open all the way because it's too close to the wall. There is a breakfast bar, but no stools. The kitchen is completely emptied out between tenants. I'm used to places where if you bought a bottle of oil, or some spices, paper plates, paper towels, instant coffee, - anything nonperishable - it would be left behind for the next people. Vacationers who are flying and renting for a week really don't want to have to buy dish soap, sugar, etc., since they'll never use it all in a week and don't want to waste it, right? The owner/property manager removes ALL that stuff from the unit. The bathrooms are beautiful - marble, glass tile, etc., but the fancy sink in the master is more art than function - no way to use it without getting water all over the place. We ran out of toilet paper after just 3 days (and there were only 2 of us!). We started with partial rolls and there were no extras in the unit so we had to buy a 4-pack at the super market and leave the extras behind. Because you're on the ground floor and the bedroom windows are along the walkway, you don't really want to open the windows at night for the nice Florida breeze. There's no cross-ventilation due to the set up of the building, so you rely on the air conditioning 24/7. The patio, which is right on the water, nice, but there were only 2 resin lounge chairs and no cushions - very uncomfortable, and the only table out there for dining is a small round one with an umbrella, and it's shared by the 2 units. On weekend evenings, the music from one of the clubs on the beach really carries and you could have a dance party on your deck it's so loud. I think older folks would find it very annoying. SO, it is a lovely unit. If you're used to hotel rooms, you'll probably love it, and the location is great. The owners could spend very little money on a few things to make it much more comfortable and practical. If they did, I'd come back. Otherwise, probably not.

The Unit was very clean, with top of the line appliances. Both bathrooms were nice as well. The guest bath (shower only) did leak water onto the bathroom floor, which was a minor nuisance. The recommendations I have for improving the experience of future guests would be: 1) Better bed linens and pillows. It was a shame that such excellent beds did not have better pillows, and comforters. As I travel quite frequently for my job, I see many hotel rooms. What I have come to realize is the nicer hotels always have a washable duvet cover, as the duvet itself most likely is not washed after each guest departs. A nicer variety of pillows would also have been nice, as we were stuck with cheap foam pillows. 2) More patio furniture - There were only 2 plastic chairs (with no cushion) on the patio area facing the water. The patio area itself is quite nice, as it sits directly on the canal. Having more furniture out there would have allowed us to use it more. 3) Bar stools - The kitchen is beautiful. It would have been nice to have a few bar stools facing the counter. Overall, I was quite pleased with the unit. There were 3 of us there all nights except one, in which case we used the fold out couch (which was more than adequate). The location is great, as we could walk to restaurants, the beach and entertainment. As previously stated, the appliances were top of the line, and the large flat screen TV, and free Wifi made us all very comfortable. We would not hesitate to rent this unit again.

Manager response: We always appreciate hearing from our guests. Your comments on the duvets is duly noted and a great idea. We will have new Tommy Bahama duvets on all beds by the end of the week. As far as pillows, we would love to offer real down pillows but we have found that a hypoallergenic simulated-down pillow keeps our guests healthier and can be washed without destroying it. We will however buy two different brands, one softer than the other to accommodate different tastes. We will keep the substitute in the closet. Just a note, all our bed sheets and pillow cases are 600 thread count Egyptian cotton. Lastly, on the patio furniture. Each of the downstairs units have 2 sun chaise loungers(with cushions now!). There is also a picnic table w/ umbrella for all to use. Thank you for your comments and we hope to continue to make Brightwater Cay a beloved destination for all who visit.

Why Brightwater Cay:
We bought and remodeled this building to offer a high end luxury condo w/ dock space on Clearwater Beach. We used top finishes from custom maple cabinetry w/ Blume motion hinges to granite and stone baths and kitchens. But...as the market would have it things didn't pan out with what we expected to initially sell the units. So, we are waiting for the economy to recover and in the meantime we lavishly furnished several of the units to allow vacation rentals to bring in some income. Within days of putting our listing up, I think we may have done the right thing. These are gorgeous units on Clearwater Beach, minutes to everything that draws vacationers from all over the world to visit. Clearwater Beach is the number one resort destination in Tampa Bay and for good reason. We hope you enjoy!
