Location: Beach Walk, Shipyard, Island Areas, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA
Accommodations: Villa, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
Keywords: Villa
Our villa is located at #154 Beachwalk in the Shipyard Plantation, which is one of the prettiest spots on Hilton Head Island. Lush vegetation, palm trees, lagoons, and hanging Spanish moss create a peaceful, tropical environment. Its mid-island location makes it very convenient to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. There are miles of bike trails, 27 holes of golf and the world-renowned Van der Meer Tennis Facility and Crowne Plaza Resort are directly across the street from the villa.
Beachwalk is the closest complex to the beach; it’s just a short five minute walk on a nearby shady path. Our condo is also right around the corner from the swimming pool, but not so close that you would be bothered by any noise.
Our villa is a two-bedroom, two and a half bath townhouse with a separate upstairs and downstairs. You’ll find that a two-story villa provides a bit more space and privacy than single level condos and there’s never anyone staying above or below you. The villa has been recently redecorated with a palm tree, "Tommy Bahama" decor, including new furniture in the living room, dining room and master bedroom.
The villa is fully-equipped and ready for you and your family to enjoy. The living area has a wet bar, 35 inch TV, DVD player, VCR, CD/Stereo, and a queen-size sleeper sofa. The kitchen is well stocked and includes a sunny breakfast area with a table for four. Most condos at the beach don't have a separate dining room; but ours does and it comfortably seats six.
The master bedroom has a king bed, 27 inch TV, and a DVD player. There's also a second sink and vanity in the dressing area, which is very convenient when two people are trying to get ready at the same time. The guest bedroom has two twin beds, TV, and a combination DVD/VCR player. Great for the kids!
At the rear of the villa, there's a two-level deck that's a cool, shady spot to sit and relax. There's even a glider big enough for two people to do some easy rocking. We really like to grill out when we're at the beach. That's why we've added a new Ducane propane grill to the deck. It's ready and waiting for the master chef in your family.
We also added a Deluxe Wonder Wheeler Beach Cart that you can load up with beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, even a cooler and then effortlessly wheel it all to the beach. It’s great for those times when Mom is out shopping or Dad is playing golf and you need to transport your gear and your family to the beach. We’re so close to the ocean that you may never need to use it, but it’s sure nice to have it there if you ever do.
Please take a moment to click on the link below to read some of the comments from folks that have stayed in our villa. From time to time, we copy these notes from the guest book that we keep at the villa and then we enter them on this web site. However, when VRBO made some recent changes to our web pages, it also changed the layout of these comments. Now, some entries are missing and it appears as though everyone stayed in our condo on the same dates in 2008. Also, some guests will mention a Nintendo game system in their comments, but it's no longer available. Unfortunately, the games and the game console kept disappearing.

We stayed here in July of 2010. The condo is roomy, beautifully decorated, and well located. It is on the beach walk path. Our teenage boys loved it. Most of the quiet areas in HHI are off the beach but the walk is short. This condo was closest to the beach behind the Marriott. The owner was easy to work with, and had beach equipment for the rental. We've been to HHI many times. I have lived there before and we spent our honeymoon 22 years ago at the Marriott. The Shipyard area has been maintained very well over the years. Had no issues with the condo, except the grill was out of gas and the manager couldn't make it over for a refill-no big problem at all. We just refilled it ourselves, the property company will reimburse you if that's the case. The deck is very large-ideal for morning coffee. From the deck, we even saw a baby alligator walking along the path. People were walking by and didn't even notice him. And he didn't seem to mind! Make sure you take a day trip to Savannah or go in the evening. Check out the Ghost Walk, Ghost Talk tour-wonderful people, very informative. Contact them by phone-very reasonable rates and a very personal tour. Skip the drunken ghost tour by hearse, unless that's your thing.

Back again to Beachwalk and once again we had a blast! Here are our top ten favorite things to do on the island: #10 – Coastal Discovery Center – Kids loved the mammal and birds of prey program on Wednesdays! #9 – Bike riding through Shipyard – We saw an alligator every night by the front pond!! #8 – Shopping at Coligny – My kids especially loved Black Market Minerals! #7 – Miniature golf at Adventure Cove – a mini Chuck-E-Cheese! #6 – Sea Pines – shopping, playground, lighthouse, but sad to say we didn't see Greg Russel this year. #5 – Steamers (Coligny Plaza) – nice atmosphere, kid friendly, and great food! #4 – New York Pizza (Coligny) The new Giuseppi’s! #3 – Art Café on a rainy evening, kids loved it! Our pottery turned out great. #2 – Sea Shack. We ate there 3 times- lunch and dinner is great! Loved the blackened grouper sandwich. #1 – Beautiful days at the beach!! Waves were huge and great for boogie boards, made sandcastles each day and met a lot of nice people. Thank you Jim and family!!

Just got back from this property today. The owner sent us an email a week before we left. His message contained tips for a great stay (from where to shop for groceries to where to rent bikes for a discount). The condo is well-decorated, has a very livable layout, and included some extras such as papertowels, TP, and dishwasher detergent! Deck out back is shaded. Master bedroom is spacious. Loved having a washer & dryer on the same floor as the bedrooms! All appliances were newer and worked well. AC kept us cool is in 90F + temps. 5 minute walk to beach on shaded path and can bike there in 2-3 minutes easily. Pool is good-sized and well-maintained. Outdoor grill worked well for steaks and hotdogs. Plenty of room for my husband, his mother, his sister, our 2-year old daughter, and me. Would definitely stay at this location again on next HHI trip! Only minor complaint is that parking lot is very small and spaces are not really large enough for full-sized trucks or SUV's if all are occupied.

Lorraine and I had the best month ever on our little island. We have been coming here for about twenty years and really feel like it’s our second home. The weather was fabulous. We played lots of golf, rode our bikes all over the island and discovered some wonderful new places to eat. The villa is perfect for us, the new BBQ Grill is great and we enjoyed many special meals at home. We really appreciate all your efforts Jim, you went above and beyond. We will keep in touch and definitely look forward to our return to your Jewell by the Sea.

Did not care for the dark layout of this townhouse. Did not like that after checking in having to drive back to the office to pickup our keys. We should of either been able to attain keys and given a phone call that the rental was ready or it should had a key pad whereas we could of been called with the code numbers. Very inconvenient.

This is our second time in HH, the first vacation with our 16 month old daughter. We were very pleased with the accommodations in this condo and felt immediately at home. Our daughter actually sleeps better here. We love the amenities and the proximity to the beach as well as to dining, shopping and activities. We couldn’t have asked for a better week and we’ll definitely try to come back to this condo in the future. Thanks so much for making our stay very comfortable.

154 Beachwalk is a great basic villa that is a short walk to the beach. The kitchen is well-equipped and the decor is tasteful for a beach house. I've stayed in other Beachwalk units; this was the most comfortable one so far. The units are older but they are well maintained. Very nice grill on the patio, we ate outside several times (no mosquitoes). Only con was that the advertised beach cart that we were counting on to haul stuff was broken (wheel off) and not easy to use. That said, the owners left beach chairs and toys to use. And the furniture in the master bedroom, living room and dining room were new and comfortable. I would stay here again. Owner is nice and communicative as well.

This was our first time renting a condo instead of a hotel and we totally enjoyed the experience. This condo was very spacious, nobody was cramped and everyone had the space to have down time. The couple who own this condo have many extras so that you don't have to pack the kitchen sink. Thanks for a great vacation experience.
