Just what I was hoping for. Absolutely lovely Charleston single house. All of downtown is walkable, the street is quiet and the other homes on the street are well kept up or restored. Someone was always available to help or answer any questions. Highly recommended.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife, toddler and I stayed at 61 Warren St. for two weeks in July. We could not have been happier. The home itself is quaint, comfortable and well appointed. We wanted to take a break from our six-weeks in the U.S. visiting family and friends, so we chose Charleston as we'd enjoyed it on past visits and wanted to get to know it better. The location of the house is actually more convenient than we'd imagined when we originally compared its map location to our memories of the city. It's less than five minutes to walk to King Street and have food, coffee shops, a weekly farmer's market, a park, etc. If we only had the house to recommend, it still would garner the highest marks from us, but it was Julia -- who brought knowledge, helpfulness, generosity as well as style to our stay -- that made our visit to Charleston remarkable. We put our toddler in a pack 'n play in the second bedroom upstairs, and that was good for us. The pack 'n play also fits in a nook in the main bedroom if you have another person in the second bedroom or simply prefer to have your infant or toddler sleeping in the same room.Owner response: It is always a pleasure to assist my guests in any way that I can to make their stay in Charleston comfortable and enjoyable!

Our stay couldn't have been better. The house was spacious and comfortable. The location near upper King Street was perfect - away from the tourist areas but still central. No need for a car if you are visiting only Charleston. We were there for 3 weeks in June/July - the air conditioning worked great. Julia was really helpful. We'll be back for a longer period next winter.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a wonderful house! We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. Julia left us a little house warming gift - there were gorgeous flowers and delicious wine. The pictures don't do the house justice - it is much bigger than we anticipated and there is so much charm. My husband, 6 month old and I loved our 5 day stay. Since the little one naps 4-5 hours a day, I spent a lot of time in the house and I was so comfortable and relaxed. Whether I was napping in the beautiful and comfy bed or reading on the porch, I didn't mind being "stuck" in the house at all while my husband worked. I was sad to leave. And for those with babies - there is a great large closet/former darkroom that was the perfect place to put her packnplay - dark, quiet and close to our bed in case she woke up at night. We hope to come back soon!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife and I recently spent two weeks simply living in Charleston. Although we had been to the city several times before, this was our best experience yet. Julia was the perfect host: close by, very helpful, but never hovering. The house on Warren Street was comfortable, spacious, artistically furnished, and just the slightest bit quirky. The ability to sit on the back porch and linger over breakfast, to leave the car parked for days on end, and to stroll through the neighborhood made our stay even more delightful. We would recommend Julia's home to friends and would return in a moment.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed at this wonderful house for two months while I worked locally. Great location, within walking distance to everything in Charleston. Loved the neighborhood. Julia was extremely helpful and had great advice about restaurants and things to do. Very comfortable bed and bedroom. Kitchen totally outfitted. We spent hours on the back porch. It really could not have been better. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Julia Cart's Charleston home is likely the best candidate if one wanted to really to experience Charleston. My wife and I wanted to really delve into the historic neighborhoods of Charleston as well as feeling not like a tourist. This home puts you only a couple of blocks from the historic downtown. As well, one gets to sleep in the neighborhoods that have made up this town versus a hotel room/condominium that could be experienced in any other city. The houses features are all well appointed. And where the home really feels period it is up to date and has all the amenities I would expect in a new development. Beautiful inside and out - with a feeling of privacy. We left the car in the driveway the entire weekend and walked/biked the town endlessly. I hate to be unadventurous, but upon returning - I would not wish to stay anywhere else.Owner response: As always, I feel very fortunate to have such wonderful guests coming to stay at the house. It is my pleasure to do whatever I can to make a visit to Charleston as wonderful and memorable as possible. So, thank you to my guests!

We stayed in this gorgeous, historic Charleston home while visiting College of Charleston for parents' weekend. The home was everything as described and more. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything one could need for a vacation stay. It truly was an easy walk to shops, restaurants and CofC. The Owner was more than accommodating - she stocked the fridge with breakfast basics (delicious muffins from the bakery a block away) and, at our request, found our favorite Chardonnay and stocked that, too! We will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this house. We were just three people, but it can easily accommodate more.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We celebrated our 27th Anniversary with a Trip to Charleston. Our stay at this cottage and Julia’s hospitality made our celebration more special. The house has an appealing character that reflects the charm of Charleston. So does Julia! She was very helpful with her restaurant and scenic recommendations and most importantly, she shared her “Shrimp & Grits” recipes. She was available yet never intrusive. We rented a car yet walked to downtown shops, restaurants and to Battery Park. We loved our stay.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time in Charleston and in this great house! A beautiful historical environment and great fun for our 2-year-old, who climbed the stairs, played in the garden and was on constant lookout for the neighbourhood's cats! Julia is the perfect hostess, and helped us with everything we needed, including introducing us to an unmatched charlestonian hospitality! We highly recommend this property for anyone interested in having a great time in Charleston, with peaceful, yet central, environment!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I was in Charleston on business and stayed here. It was fantastic. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and spacious. It's close to restaurants and many of Charleston's sights are easily within walking distance. Listening to the peal of church bells nearby transports you into another time. The owner, Julia, was more than helpful. I highly recommend the property!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
