  Enjoyed our week at Sam & Deb's modern poolside studio. Very accurately described! The accommodations were very comfortable and clean with everything we needed for our vacation in LA. It was convenient to places we wanted to get to and parking on the street for our car was not a problem which is not often the case in LA area. The neighborhood was very nice too and the poolside studio was secure with the gated/locked entrance. Deb's landscaping with the many flowering trees & plants surrounding the patio, pool area & studio also added to the feel of a "tropical" getaway! We would definitely consider staying there again & will recommend it to anyone we know who might be making a trip to the LA area. Sam & Deb were very helpful-great to deal with!

  Owner response: Thanks you so much for your kind comments. Deb is a wonderful landscaper and we finally had a chance to re-design the entire rear yard a couple of years ago. She surrounded the pool with fragrant and colorful gardens, and highlighted them with fountains and benches around a fire-pit. It's also beautifully lit so that you can sit outdoors on warm LA nights. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it as much as we do.

  Really lovely, well located, quiet place to stay and work. Highly recommend for anyone traveling to LA needing a location on the westside.

  I lived for a month in this efficient and attractive studio overlooking a 40 foot swimming pool, still swimmable during much of October - cold but refreshing! The hosts were charming, helpful, and unintrusive. I spent my days enjoying a productive writer's retreat, and my evenings with my daughter and family who live nearby. It was everything I had hoped for, and more! The listing and photos are accurate, the studio was clean and well-maintained while I was there, the owners delivered my mail and provided other small services, including a booklet with information on museums, etc. on the kitchen counter.) There is a nice coffee shop a block away, the Westwood Pavilion (Nordstrom's, Macy's, movies, restaurants, etc) is within walking distance. This is LA, though, and you will want a car. I would recommend this highly to anyone traveling alone, or to a couple willing to share a hotel room sized space with the feel of home.

  This vrbo is actually even better than the pictures show. The owners are lovely and very helpful. They answered all my questions and accomodated every request. Their home was lovely , clean well equipped and just a pleasure to stay in. I was even able to walk to the Westside shopping mall and the house was very accessible by car, bus and walking. I so want to thank Debbie and Sam for sharing their home with me and would surely stay again. I can recommend this property highly and would best describe it as a lovely secret garden feel with the coziness of home. Thank you again for a lovely stay in your pool house oasis.

  I spent three months with my mother in Los Angeles. I was working on my Ph.D dissertation while she was practicing English. It was our first time in the city but we were very lucky to find this beautiful studio. As you can see on the pictures, it was spacious, luminous and clean; it was also quiet, comfortable, well equipped and cozy. It’s been remodeled and decorated with an excellent taste. You can really feel like home. The bathroom was one of our favorite parts, it was gorgeous and the shower was very relaxing. The garden and the rest of the property are also beautiful. Westwood is a lovely and quiet neighborhood. There are a lot of houses with beautiful yards. It is very pretty to walk around, and for us it was very special to see the Halloween decorations and the Christmas lights. Just a few minutes walk there’s a big mall with a macy’s store inside. By the mall, there’s also a Barnes & Noble, a movie theatre and Nordstrom store. On the same avenue, there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. The house is very close to Westwood village, which is very lively. Again, there are a lot of shops, restaurants, coffee shops, markets (a Ralphs, a Trader Joe’s and a Whole Foods), old movie theaters and UCLA. It feels like a little village, so it’s also nice to just walk. If you don’t have a car, the house is very well connected. There is the blue line that goes from UCLA to Santa Monica, Venice, Westwood, Century City and LAX –even though I wouldn’t recommend to take that bus from the airport. There’s also the green line that goes to Culver City, Century City and other places. It’s also easy to make a transfer to any other line. You can also visit the Farmer’s Market, the Getty Center, the studios, Beverly Hills & Rodeo Drive, the Downtown, and Hollywood (even though Hollywood takes a little longer by bus). Actually, we didn’t rent a car and could get around easily. We had the most wonderful experience and we wouldn’t change it for anything. If we had to come back again, we wouldn’t hesitate to choose Westwood and this studio. The family was amazing. They were very nice and always tried to make us feel comfortable. We would totally recommend them as hosts and neighbors. All the information they provided is accurate, we would just add that it was our best choice.
