We had a wonderful stay with our family for Spring Break. It was our first family ski trip and the home was a perfect fit. The house was spacious, cozy, clean and had special little touches like handmade soap to make it even more welcoming. The location was perfect proximity for all that we wanted to do. The Country Club was nearby for additional outdoor fun like sledding and snowshoeing or having a relaxing drink or dinner inside the beautiful clubhouse. All the locals were very friendly and helpful. Ted had all the details of our arrival and departure well organized making the check in and check out process very easy. He was a pleasure to work with and very professional throughout the entire process. We would love to come back again.

Our family (two sons ages 23 and 21 and their sweet girlfriends) had a great ski vacation in Angel Fire. Home Away From Home was perfect...a cozy cabin not more than 5 minutes to the lifts! We were greeted by snow fall Sunday afternoon and into the night. The next morning brought sunshine and the most amazing view of the mountains from our bedroom window. Let me say too, the bedding is super comfortable so I had to force myself out of bed....but only to move to the front deck with my coffee and a blanket. It is a place where you would never get tired of the scenery. The owner was kind enough to make a few recommendations for our stay. Take his advice...you will meet the nicest folks and enjoy great food in warm atmospheres! Finally, the cabin is nestled in beautiful snow covered trees. But, in the back beyond the trees, there is a clearing---the best place for all of us to just play! Snow angels, snow ball fights and all the pictures mom could take. The owner of Home Away From Home is a pleasure to work with. Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us.

We have stayed at the Mountain Home Away From Home on several occassions. This wonderful home met our expectations each time and it was always a joy to come back during the various seasons. The owner was extremely helpful and easy to get in touch with if we had questions during our stay. The home was always very neat and clean and was stocked with everything our family needed for an enjoyable, stress-free stay. We particularly loved the covered back porch overlooking the aspens where deer would visit while we grilled on the BBQ. The tucked-away location affords privacy and the watching the sunrise over the mountain each morning was pure joy! If you are looking for a clean, well-maintained Angel Fire cabin with plenty of privacy and a setting of natural beauty at a very affordable price, look no futher than Mountain Home Away From Home. We have recommended it to friends as well. You may never want to leave!

This is THE place for relaxation. This cabin is nestled amoungst aspens on a hill side and located on the resort's golf course. Here you will experience serenity. The decor is authentic. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Everything you need is where you would expect to find it. Just bring clothes and groceries. The owner is a thoroughly respectable gentleman. He made sure we had directions and provided information to help make our stay comfortable. During our visit this September, we experienced wild life making its prescence known at dawn and dusk. We heard elk bulls calling to their mates late at night, watched a porcupine cross the front yard and a beaver swim right past us on the lake. During our stay the aspen trees turned from yellow golden to burnt orange in just a couple of days. The nights were a cool 40 degrees and the days a warm and sunny 70's. If you are not into the ski season like us, you can still find plenty to do in the area. We recommend the Angel Fire Chair lift ride several times. I am sure we touched the clouds! Then go to Bobcat Pass for the ATV guided tour. We were so impressed with our guide. His knowledge of the history about the mountain made us feel we had stepped back in time and were crossing paths with the orginal settlers of the area. He also surprised us with a view that took our breath away. A must go!!! Only draw back to our vacation was that the resteraunts were each closed on different days of the week. Definitely make a few phone calls before setting your agenda. A tidbit of information that should be shared is that because there are bears in the area, all garbage is taken to a central location in the town across from the grocery store on main street instead of placed outside the cabins. This is to prevent surprise, potentially disasterous, visits from the local large and furry visitors. Last but not least, if the night sky is clear, find a high point amoung the mountains and star gaze. It will be a memory you won't forget for years to come.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Thrasher's beautiful home. It had everything we needed and more. My three children loved the surroundings, the big area to play in, and especially loved the deer that visited the back porch. I would really recommend this property to anyone visiting the Angel Fire area. The owner, Ted, provided excellent customer service. It is in an excellent area for all of the attractions in the area. We especially enjoyed the golfing and whitewater rafting. The house was clean and well-maintained and the spa tub was wonderful. I can truly say that if we ever visit that area again we will be calling the Thrashers to rent this beautiful house.

My husband and I had a wonderful, relaxing time in this home! We have rented numerous homes in the area over several years and I would have to say Ted is the friendliest, most accomodating, and most responsive owner we have worked with. The place was very clean, bright, and well-equiped. The beds and linens were first-rate and comfortable. Enjoyed having wireless access when we reluctantly needed to make contact with the outside world. We look forward to staying there again!

Even though we probably won't be traveling this Spring Break, starting the school year reminds me of the wonderful time we had last Spring Break at Ted's mountain home. The house is very nice, clean and well maintained, well furnished, and Ted is a very welcoming, helpful, and accessible host. The house is also very close to the Angel Fire ski resort. Everything met or exceeded our expectations! Thanks, Ted, for helping us have a great Spring Break this year!

This a wonderful place to stay for ANY reason in Angel Fire. It is very accomodating for a large family -- it feels just like home except who has such lovely views out of their own windows at home. The home is furnished with EVERYTHING you need and is very well kept and maintained. Ted is a real treasure to work with and could not be any nicer. The washer and dryer are very nice to have when you have little ones with you-- even the washing detergent and dryer sheets are furnished. You couldn't ask for better directions that take you straight to this property. You feel very secluded and away from the hustle and bustle, but actually very close to whatever you need or want. We would DEFINITELY recommend this to family or friends and will use again when in Angel Fire.

This was our first time in AngelFire. We normally go to Ruidoso, after this vacation AF is our new found winter wonderland!!! We had two families going for a total of 7, 4Adults 3Kids. This home was ideal. Plenty of room to eat and relax in. It is literally just down the road from the slopes nestled in a birch, pine and snow covered neighborhood. Perfect location and the home is obviously well taken care of. Driveway was cleared just minutes before our arrival. You have all the amenities central heat, fireplace, washer & dryer etc. The fireplace has a built in area to store firewood that I thought made it look very tidy. There was plenty of firewood left to be cut outside. The beds are very comfortable and the heated mattress covers feel great after a day in the snow!!! You sleep sooo soundly. The covered deck (in front and back) is great to just sit out on and enjoy the scenery. The kitchen has all you'll need for preparing meals. The kids found several sleds outside on the porch, apparently left behind by another renter. There was plenty of hot water for all of us morning and night to shower with. There are condos located within walking distance to the slopes but you would be cheating yourself out of a peaceful vacation experience. Every morning the kids would get up and go outside for snowball fights. The house had plenty of yard to play in and there was an empty area across the street that the kids took advantage of also. We look forward to going back and without hesitation will be staying here again!!! The owner is very friendly and made himself available for any questions. I really enjoyed how this reservation was handled. Take his advice and definitely visit the AngelFired Pizza Restaurant. BEST PIZZA!!! Taos is 20 miles away be sure to visit, they have an ice skating rink and eat at Michaels Kitchen, great food, afforable pricing.

We stayed in this property the last week of June 2009. It was terrific. The deer were there when we drove up and throughout the week. We used the canoes, bikes, swings and everything else. Weather was perfect and owners were great to deal with. Great location and very nicely furnished. We would highly recommend staying here.

My family enjoyed staying at this home last month. It is in a beautiful setting, with gorgeous views from each room. We were only minutes from the ski slopes. We bought a sled for two people at one of the little stores for only $24. and found the perfect sledding hill right across the street from the cabin. The cabin is very tastefully decorated, with a split bedroom plan, which is nice. The master suite is beautiful, with a very comfortable king size bed, made from logs. The kitchen is well equiped, and every night we had good home cooked meals. The last night we ate at the Roasted Clove restaurant which was a perfect way to end our vacation. We will be back!

Our stay was March 21-25, 2008. We didn't think there would be snow at the house, but it was still lots. The house was beautiful. We were a group of 8 (and family pet) and the house was roomy. How close it was to the ski resort and town was great. It only took minutes to the ski resort; tubing; and snowmobiles. Would definitely stay again. Thanks.

We had a wonderful time staying in this home, nestled on the side of a mountain in a huge aspen grove. We arrived the Monday after Thanksgiving and as soon as we unpacked and made a trip to the grocery store just a mile or two away, it started snowing. It snowed for three days for a total of 12 inches and stayed on the ground the entire week; it was minus 20 degrees the day we left, so the snow looked fresh and beautiful all week. There was plenty of firewood just steps away from the door, so we just hunkered down and enjoyed the beautiful show with a roaring fire going in the fireplace all week. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful aspen meadow up the mountain about 20 yards from the back door and took our Golden Retrievers out to play there several times a day; they loved the snow more than we did! And the view of the 11,000 foot mountain range from the front deck and through the living room picture window was breathtaking. The house was beautifully furnished and supplied with everything we needed. Even the towels and linens were of superior quality. Just a perfect spot in a beautiful part of the world.

Our group consisted of two families, with 5 being teenagers. Everyone had a wonderful time. The split bedroom layout of the home was perfect for our group, and the views from the front and back porches were beautiful. We found several hills for sledding close to the house. We found that in the late afternoon there was a place we could go to see 100-or so Elk grazing!!!! Such a beautiful sight. We did a lot of cooking, and the kitchen/ home was equipped with everything we needed for a great vacation.

What a wonderful home away from home! We had a family aged 16 to 85 with us, and we all loved the bikes, the canoes, the views, and the many deer. The front deck was a great place to sit and just breathe. The open kitchen and living area were inviting for sitting around in the evenings and trying to decide which movie to watch! We even used the fireplace in July. Just wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks!

Angelfire was beautiful, and it was nice to get away from the hot Oklahoma weather for a week. The home was everything it claimed to be and we plan on returning for spring break. I would highly recommend this vacation home. Thank you for a super vacation. The Cason's

Angel Fire is about as close to heaven as you can get, especially coming from the hot, flat Texas prairies in July! Our family had a fabulous time; the house is clean, comfortable, even luxurious. The views from the windows and porches are stunning; you are completely isolated, surrounded by aspens, with panoramic views of the mountains. Walks are great fun, as is just sitting on the porch, reading or watching the wildlife. We hope to return again and again.

We were very pleased with our vacation rental. The house had everything you would need to feel like you were in a "home away from home." Our children loved feeding and watching the chipmunks. We also enjoyed rabbits, deer, beautiful birds, and an elk! We couldn't have asked for better weather, not ever over 73, and were given great tips on things to do in the area! This was one of our best summer trips yet! Thanks so much for a fun, restful, enjoyable family vacation rental....we will be back! Kristin & Latham Jones Argyle, Texas

Our stay was a welcomed change to the usual cramped hotel rooms when we go skiing. With three boys and a girl, we still had plenty of room. And a television in each room was an added plus. The two littler ones could watch cartoons or throw in a movie without waking us up in the morning. There were also dozens of games for the children and even a couple that we didn’t mind playing either. As far as cabin’s location, it was very convenient – just a few minute drive to the lifts and to the nearby town. During the evenings, the town has some nice restaurants or you can utilize the fully stocked kitchen, with a grocery store just a few blocks from the cabin. You might also enjoy the beautiful Aspen forest surrounding property. We actually saw a deer walk through the property early one morning. And if you enjoy a nice fire or like to barbeque, the owners provided loads of firewood and a handy gas grill. These additional features made it quite comfortable for the evenings that we stayed in.We all really enjoyed vacationing at this property and would certainly recommend it to anyone.- The Viggers Family

As a family we experienced one of our best vacations ever. The cabin was much more than we expected. The juke box and the pinball machine made the stay even more memorable. The views and location of the cabin were tremendous. I can not say enough good things about this cabin and the hospitality of the owners. You will want to give this cabin an opportunity to provide the best vacation you have ever had. The jacuzzi was a nice addition after spending time on the mountains hiking and four wheeling. Monte Verde Lake is a nice place to canoe and fish and is very close by. Golf balls really do travel farther in the high altitude; farther left and right. The course looks great and is challenging.
