This really is a VRBO because if you aren't here I am, and so I hope you will enjoy the beauty of the desert, the fun of being out of your every day neighborhood, the rest from your list of honey do - all the reasons we 'run away from home.'
Welcome to this spacious one bedroom condo in Palm Springs, nestled under the San Jacinto Mountains - across the street from The Mesa, down the street from Moorten's Botanical Gardens, hiking, horse back riding, a State Park at the end of Palm Canyon Drive and a five minute drive to everything in the center of Palm Springs. It is convenient to everything along Highway 111, including markets, restaurants, and services.
The Sandstone Villa Condo complex has 4 pools, 4 hot tubs, 3 tennis courts, laundry facilities and bbq's. The covered parking is nearby the first floor unit. This is a gated community, so an access card is required for entry.
The Living Room has an electric fireplace for ambiance and a little heat if you want. The light by the front door can be operated by remote control for convenience. The large color television has TimeWarner basic cable and DVR, a DVD player with DVD's for your amusement. Some are Palm Springs lore or location. There are several Palm Springs books for your enjoyment, from historical, whimsical, gossipy or athletic (hikes and bikes!) There is also a Classic iPod compatible clock radio for your musical needs.
The Dining Room seats four and is right off the Kitchen, which is stocked for everything from a quick breakfast (blender in the cupboard along with the toaster) to gourmet repast cooked or bbq'd. (BBQ items & plastic dishes in the hall cupboard nearby.)
The Bedroom is good sized room with a Queen sized bed and dresser. A second bed is available, which is a bed height air bed for additional guests or children. The air bed can be placed in either the living room or in the bedroom. There is a color television with TimeWarner Cable and remote.
The Bathroom is quite spacious with three towel racks, two for bath towels, one for hand towels, and towel hooks for four. The bathtub and shower is referred to as a sunken garden tub. A laundry basket and soap is located in the bathroom should you feel the need to do laundry. Dry cleaners are nearby too.
There is telephone service for all United States and Canada calls, as well as password secured wifi.
Walking distance or a five minute drive is the official center of downtown Palm Springs, with their famous Palm Springs Follies, Farmers' Market, Restaurants and Shopping. Palms Springs Sun Bus is only a short walk, allowing you your choice of how to arrive.
Golf and Tennis are the joy of desert living and you are near some of the best throughout the entire desert communities, some might say U.S.
Most of all, I feel this has the best of being in a home with the freedom to fly out the door and do all the things you can - to the opposite end of taking the time to stay still, be quiet and find your own zen.
SandStone Villas CC&R's allow for rentals of a minimum of seven (7) days/nights. The City of Palm Springs has a Transient Occupancy Tax of 11.5% on stays under 28 days.

A great VRBO find. This very spacious unit is fully equipped and met all of our wants. Furniture is new and bed is comfortable. Lots of towels (bath and pool), sheets and blankets. Kitchen is fully stocked and lots of plastic ware to take to the pool. Too bad it's not closer to the pool but it is right outside the tennis court. Pool area is great with lots of lounge chairs and 4 or 5 table and chair sets. Barbeque in the back yard off the bedroom was great and this is a good spot for morning sun. A couple of downfalls are that you can hear the people above and there is no seating in the front of the unit to enjoy the evening sun. Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: Not yet ready or able to retire yet, but several of my friends have moved to the desert. I'm getting used to the real heat and the laid back lifestyle of the desert. For now, I visit when I can. And am delighted to meet people from all over when they come to the desert or rent my little oasis.
Why the Owner Chose Sandstone Villas:
Close to central downtown Palm Springs, a quick drive to friend's home, and a few minutes further to the amenities the other desert cities have to offer.
The pool is fabulous to relax in, the spa the perfect place to leave your tensions. The view of the mountains calming and delightful.
I chose this place over others because it offered the sense of a home as well as a sanctuary.
