What a wonderful weekend at this cottage! Excellent location near the beach, boardwalk, and wharf. The place was clean and comfortable. Our family of four fit comfortably with the bedroom and futon. Plenty of towels and extra sheets and comforters for the futon. Although we ate out the kitchen was well equipped and it was nice to be able to make coffee before heading out in the morning for a run. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and we had no trouble finding parking close by. Keith was easy to work with and very responsive to my emails. He provides his phone number as well in case you have any questions. There was also wifi which is always nice to have and was helpful when we were looking up restaurants for dinner and activities for the weekend. This place was the perfect launch point for the weekend. We enjoyed a dinner at Stagnaro on the wharf and tried a couple local breweries - we really enjoyed sitting outside at Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing. We also took a day trip down to Carmel to the mission and Point Lobos. Both are worth the drive. I hope to get back here sometime and would definitely recommend this place to friends looking for a relaxing weekend by the beach.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

Wonderful place! Perfect location a short walk from the Boardwalk, the Wharf, and downtown shops and restaurants. (5-10 minute walk to get to these) The house is well maintained, clean, and charming. I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants to be close to the action, but on a small, quiet neighborhood street. You'll find a bedroom with a comfy bed in the front, a living room with futon in the middle, and the kitchen in the back, stocked with coffee machine, microwave, oven/stove, and plates, glasses, etc. The bathroom is right off the kitchen in the back with soft towels and a clawfoot tub. Everything is clean and well maintained. My only warning would be that if you are a person who sleeps light, you might want to be aware that you can hear the boardwalk (screams and rides) and a bit of light comes through the blinds. I slept great through it and kind of enjoyed the "local ambiance" but others might find it not to their liking. There are two chairs and a small table in front which is great for sitting out and enjoying the beautiful Santa Cruz weather and listening to the birds and roller coasters nearby.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This vrbo is just SUPER! It looks just as pictured. Very clean and comfortable with all the amenities (even coffee filters!) that made the little house a perfect place to stay for our family of three. My teenage daughter thought the futon a comfortable bed. The pillows were great. And there were LOTS of blankets. Parking was easy on the surrounding streets with the provided guest parking permit. And Keith, the owner, was just easy and super to work with. It is a super location on a quiet, beautiful street. We could easily walk to the boardwalk, beach and wharf. Stagnaro Brothers on the end of the wharf has the best clam chowder! Could have walked to downtown too, though we made the short drive. There we found the New Leaf Community Market where we could grind a little coffee and get a few breakfast items so we didn't have to eat out every meal. LOVED visiting Santa Cruz and seeing my son who lives there now. When tired from a long day at the beach and boardwalk, it was SO nice to rest in a living room to just visit while eating leftovers from our resturant meals and listening to the radio. Then in the mornings the front patio with its morning sunlight is a beautiful quiet spot to drink coffee and listen to the birds. It just made our vacation so much more enjoyable than a motel room ever could have. I'll be back. Gotta bring my sister next time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you, I'm glad your stay was so good for you after traveling such a distance to get here.

Had a great weekend, just my hubby and I. Perfect location! We will be back with the kids for Father’s Day weekend. The bonus was the deep clawfoot bathtub, perfect for soaking. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. Nice, quiet street.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Keith, the owner, is great - easy to work with through the reservation process and generous and accommodating during the stay. The house is centrally located within walking distance of downtown and the beach, while being tucked away on a quiet street with little traffic. The property is clean and tidy, and the house is exactly as the pictures suggest. The extra space and availability of a kitchen made this a much nicer experience than staying in a motel. Thanks for a sweet visit.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

We arrived in the evening to the cottage and as the street parking was full Keith showed us where to park around the corner with a permit. So helpful and friendly! The cottage is very convenient and located right in between The Boardwalk and Downtown. We could walk everywhere, which was great. The cottage itself is small but has everything you could need and fit our small family (me, the husband, the 2 year old son and baby daughter) just fine. My son slept well on the futon (very comfy, I slept part of the night there too!) and the queen bed was great. Quiet neighborhood, was not disturbed by any noises in the day (nap-time) or night. We loved having a kitchen since eating out isn't always convenient with kids, and there was every utensil/pan we needed. If we came again I would bring our high-chair to feed the baby and 2 yr old because there is no table and chairs, and eating on the couch at the coffee table is great for us but not so much the wee folk. It worked though, and would be great for older kids or if you plan to eat out most meals. We felt very safe the whole time, super cute neighborhood. Keith put in some nice plants while we were there and the property was kept up nicely. The tv was nice, there was internet too. Altogether a comfortable place to stay. The price was right, the owner laid back and friendly, all in all a wonderful 3 nights in beautiful Santa Cruz. We would definitely recommend this vrbo to any of our friends and family.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
