We had such a great stay at the fishing lodge! The house and property were beautiful. We all fit very comfortably (6 adults, 7 kids). We loved that we could all eat at one big table and the kitchen was plenty big enough to cook for a crowd. The fireplace was very cozy and the hot tub was great too. We would love to come back in the summer to make use of the pool.

As a group of 10 ladies coming from all around Washington and Idaho, we usually choose Chelan every year. This year, our 6th, we found this on VRBO an decided to give it a try. Most of us had never been to Twisp. We had the most amazing experience, mostly because Ali's Fishing Lodge was the most cozy comforting down to earth house we have ever stayed in. It was obvious just in the character of the house and the neighboring rentals, that this woman has not only an incredible knack for making people feel at home with her personal touches but also a keen eye for decor that is stylish and cozy. We had absolutely everything we needed from kitchen goods, to linen, to tons of sleeping room (easily could sleep 14+). The bunk beds were so cute that many of the rooms stayed empty so we could all sleep in the same room (we felt like we were at summer kids camp!) The pool, hot tub and the patio over the river was a truly magical place where many memories were made. Everything was as it said it would be, nothing was "not working" as is common with other rentals, the house was super clean, comfortable and inviting. Ali was easily reachable by phone, responded quickly to emails, answered all our questions, was generous with checkouts and even gave us lots of helpful tips on how to make our first visit to the Methow Valley the best (loved the MV Ciderhouse and the food at Twisp Pub!) We wanted to go tubing the river but we could not pull ourselves away from the comfort of the home and patio. We all cannot wait to stay there again next year, so much so that we might have to go in the winter because we cant wait. Thanks you Ali for sharing your home with us!!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Fishing Lodge in August. The view was spectacular, the pool was refreshing, the hot tub was relaxing and warm, the fishing was great, floating the river from right out the back door was exciting, the house was clean and comfortable, the stars were beautiful and being together in such a warm, inviting atmosphere was THE BEST! Ali was a gracious hostess and very accommodating as she worked with us throughout the past year to reschedule our family vacation from last summer. We would definitely recommend this place to others and plan on returning for another vacation in the future.

There were serious structural and cleanliness issues and with the Fishing Lodge. When we arrived for a ten day stay, there were not enough bedrooms for our family reunion members. Space that was to have been completed, as promised in April and again in July, was still under construction with a bathroom sink completed 4 days after our arrival. In addition to issues with structure and cleanliness , usual and customary amenities were not available to manage the heat, typical in August in the high desert. Specifically: • Bathrooms were dirty and bedrooms were dusty…not vacuum cleaned. Light bulbs were burned out. Ceiling fixtures did not work. Wiring was faulty. Switches were mis-wired. Bathroom doors did not have locks. Doors and windows did not have screens. Construction on unfinished buildings woke us up. Pool area needs repairs. • We had to ask for fans. Some rooms had bamboo blinds which were inadequate for blocking heat; not all windows open and closed. • The six bed bunk room was uninhabitable: 1. The only way to open and close some windows was to go onto the roof to prop open the windows with sticks. This is dangerous. 2. Not all bunk windows open. 3. Sticks to keep windows open slip off. 4. There was no way to cover the windows because the bunks were built against the wall. We attempted to hang towels from the window trim. 5. Even with two fans, it was hard to circulate air in that room. 6. Guests got splinters from the beds. 7. The result was that two children went into a pop up trailer to sleep with their parents. Parents of the other three children alternated sleeping on the sofa in the living room while one of them slept in the double bed with two children. Only one child out of five used the bunk bedroom, and he was up every night, uncomfortable from the heat. The owner dismissed our concerns as a lack of fit between what she offered and our needs. We enjoyed the setting in which this house is located. The combination of house, pool, hot tub and river nestled in the Methow Valley, surrounded by the Cascade Mountains, is what we were seeking for our family reunion. Furniture is high end and comfortable and the kitchen is well furnished. However, the details of disrepair and lack of cleanliness distracted from our family reunion. For a few a several thousand dollars, we expected better. When I asked to speak with the owner about our concerns, she left town. Subsequently she still dismisses our concerns.

Owner response: for a response to this please contact me.

Our family stayed here in August 2012. The house was great, the pool and hot tub were great. The bunk room for the kids was what memories are made of. Floating down the river was just awesome. What a great time!

We just spent a week here for our family vacation and had an amazing time. The pictures do not do the place justice. The views are amazing. We have a large group and we always have lots of people in the kitchen at once. There was plenty of room for that. Nice large barbecue. 2 refrigerators. Plenty of showers for everyone. At one point we had 8 vehicles and there was plenty of parking for everyone. The pool and hot tub were great. Plenty of seating for everyone outdoors. The owner, Ali, was fantastic. We will definately be returning for another stay. Thank-you Ali.

This is an amazing place to stay, the pictures dont do it justice. There were 12 of us girls that stayed for an amazing 3 nights and four days and we did not want to leave if we could have we would have called the owner to say we are not leaving. This is a place you do not have to leave the entire time you are here, you have the comfort of the home, pool, hot tub, walks along the river and a great view that you could get lost in your thoughts looking at. This was a time to remember, we are already planning a trip for next year and a couples week cant wait to come back, I would recommend this home to anyone that just wants to relax and enjoy.

What an outstanding and memorable weekend we had Feb 3-5, 2012 at the Fishing Lodge just outside of Twisp! Four of us couples traveled up from the Cashmere area to snowmobile, relax and enjoy the Methow Valley. Staying in the well furnished and inviting Fishing Lodge only added to our great weekend. Upon our arrival the hottub was clean/hot and beckoning us...the lodge itself was well furnished and had those extra personal touches that make you feel right at home but also know that you're on vacation. The pictures on this site are very indictive of what you'll see upon your arrival. We drew cards for bedrooms and in this lodge no one felt like the loser. We will definitely be booking in 2013! Thank you Ali for sharing your beautiful Fishing Lodge with us! Also for those of you that like to snowmobile - the parking was outstanding.

Our fishing / hunting group led by Eric enjoyed a fantastic six day stay here as a base for our 2011 adventures. The accomodations were outstanding for a large group that enjoys cooking for themselves and relaxing after a long difficult road hunt on the backroads of the beautiful Methow Valley. The owners made sure that all of our requests were met and even provisioned us out when we ran out of our supplies! Although it was our first visit, we were treated like family instead of clients. The house is very well outfitted and the property is one of the most scenic in Washington. Our group enjoyed fishing in the pristine Methow River that fronts the estate, relaxing campfires next to the hotub, and we were even treated to a meteor shower on our first night under the stars! We can hardly wait to come back in 2012 to relax and enjoy the kind of comradeship that that this property and the Methow Valley is known for!!! MT

I rented this amazing luxury cabin for my staff to have a retreat from a busy weekend we worked in the Methow Valley. The pictures do not do it justice. The house was clean and inviting upon our arrival and the owners were available to assist us with anything we needed. We were able to sit by the pool, float the river, take a run and decompress before working then return to all of the same after working. As a chef, I found the kitchen great to prepare meals for the house and the open format made it easy to spend time with everyone while cooking. We all enjoyed it, so much so, I decided to bring my family back in September for another visit. We plan to rent the same place next summer.

We had four adults and four kids stay 5 days in July/2011. The home had plenty of space for us, and was very comfortable. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and the beautiful views of the river and mountains. This is a spectacular area to visit - hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and hanging out by the pool were all greatly enjoyed by our group.
