LOCATION The apt complex is in a quiet residential neighborhood called Ocean Park. It is about a 5 minute walk to Ocean Park Beach. Also within walking distance are some restaurants, a supermarket, and a few other small stores. Though the condo isn’t really walking distance to the main tourist districts (Condado and Isla Verde), those areas are accessible by a 5-10 min cab or car ride. BUILDING The apt is on the 8th floor of a ~10-story building. The apartment complex is very safe. The entire complex is gated and a guard sits at the entrance 24/7. The building has a small outdoor playground, a pool, and a grill/gazebo area. There is a lovely and breezy sitting area in the building foyer. There is also gated parking. APARTMENT The apartment is very homey and comfortable. It honestly felt like we were coming home at the end of each day. The combined living/dining area is very spacious and our family of 6 was able to comfortably spread out. The apartment has some lovely views. There are panoramic city views from the living/dining room and ocean views from two of the three bedrooms. It was nice to open up the windows and let the breezes in as we enjoyed the views. The kitchen is decently large and multiple people can easily cook simultaneously. Some of the appliances did seem like they’d benefit from an upgrade, but we were able to cook. AMENITIES We appreciated having access to a fully stocked kitchen (we enjoy cooking) with a dishwasher and washing machine. The three bedrooms were well sized and the two bathrooms were very nicely done. The large TV in the living room was great for family movie nights. There were other niceties that helped us to feel at home (Bose iPod player, leather couches so well worn and comfortable that our son routinely fell asleep on them at night, wifi, beach umbrella and towels) HOSTS Tamara was extremely easy to work with. We spoke with her on the phone for almost 30 min before booking and she patiently answered all of our questions. Ana, the property manager, was very gracious. She waited to meet us at the Condo when our flight was delayed and even gave directions over the phone to our cabbie. Once we arrived, she gave us a tour of the property and made us feel very welcome. She was available by phone and text for the duration of our stay. A+ for Tamara and Ana! OVERALL Overall, we had a very nice homey stay at Tamara’s condo by the sea!

Worry free - comfortable condo great for family vacation

This condo was a perfect place for our family visit. It is situated in a quiet residential area conveniently located about one block from the beach. You can actually see the beach from two of the bedroom windows. The condo was clean and serviceable. The building felt safe and the locked gates with the security guard eliminated worries about our rental car. It is a short walk to the beach, several restaurants, a medium size grocery store, and the Ocean Park neighborhood where Kasalta’s deli became our favorite morning hangout. Since it is a residential neighborhood, we found it best to rent a car, there were few taxis cruising nearby to flag for a ride and we had several places to visit around the city. Car rental was easy and the condo’s parking space was very convenient. Ana, the property manager was very friendly and efficient. The only problem we experienced in the condo was with an appliance which Ana had repaired very quickly. I was very impressed that she was able to arrange for someone to do the work on a Saturday morning. We also appreciated Ana’s call to alert us about high wave and rip tide warnings, which occurred near the end of our visit. The Punta Las Marias neighborhood is between two high tourists areas, so it isn’t on the regular tourist maps. We found it helpful to have a printed map of the area so we could locate local restaurants that we wanted to visit. The Wi-Fi in the condo made it easy to use our computer and phones and helped us find Paradise Bike rental. We highly recommend renting the e-bikes (electric assisted) to traverse the Viejo San Juan area. In conclusion, the condo is not overly fancy, but we found it very easy to feel at home. It is a very good value for the price. We had enough bedrooms for the teenagers and didn’t need to rent a second hotel room. We are definitely coming back again!

A Home away from home

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The condo was very spacious and clean. There was plenty of room for my family of 6. The building is private with a security guard on the premises- plus. The home has modern features, furniture, and appliances so you feel super comfortable and cozy. The photos displayed are exactly on point. The ocean is just a brief walk away. You can walk to the supermarket and restaurants. Very close to Isla Verde and Viejo San Juan!! Ana was very accommodating as our arrival time into Ocean Park kept changing due to traffic. I highly recommend this location as the home is a perfect setting for a family and because Tamara and Ana were very easy going. Muchisimas gracias Tamara y Ana!! And... PLEASE if you want to taste some real Puerto Rican food, please go to La Casita Blanca in Villa Palmeras!! Home cookin at its best!!

Condo fit our family of 7 perfectly.2 min walk to beach.Secure Bldg with parking attendant.Walked to nearby restaurants for dinner.Felt safe in our group at night but not smart to walk alone at night.Plenty of trench IslaVerde shopping just 5min drive away.Need a car.10min from Old San Juan.Very attentive owner and onsite friend-property mgr.No issues.Clean and nicely decorated.had morning coffee on private floor level veranda.

Our family had a very enjoyable time! Ana is awesome!! We had a problem when the refridgerator went out, Ana had a repair man there and it was fixed right away. The building AC was being worked on and we had 1 uncomfortable night, but then was repaired the next day. My only issue was not having more than one set of keys and having to have keys to get in and out was challenging with all of us. I would suggest having more sets available if needed. Overall, the beach is a 5 minute walk, the apartment is very nice and clean. We would come back again!

Owner response: Thanks for the advise in regards to the keys. I will make sure renters with 6 to 8 people have at least two sets of keys. It is good to know that our property manager responded to the refrigerator situation with a sense of urgency. I am sorry to know that you had a uncomfortable night without the central AC, I thought that having ceiling fans would had help. The central AC company that repairs the building cooling system came in an try to repair the problem as fast as they could. In this particular situation, a part burned twice during the weekend, they had to wait until monday to fixed it. I appreciate your comments and let us know next time you decide to visit PR!

Forgive the dissertation, but I couldn't resist... We had an excellent stay here! Everyone who says that the pictures don't do this place any justice is telling the absolute truth! The description is entirely accurate. The condo is a 30-second sprint from the beach. You can see a gorgeous view of it fom the 2 bedrooms on the north side of the condo. (We actually saw a rainbow like the one in the picture.) There's a panoramic window that faces south from which we could see the mountains and even el Yunque rainforest (look left). We loved cutting off the A/C, opening the windows and turning on the fans. The living/dining room gave us the most incredible view of fireworks on New Year's Eve that you could ever imagine. You could see fireworks coming from homes in towns far south of San Juan, as far south as the eye can see. Oh, yeah: the master bedroom has it's own bathroom and a tempurpedic bed! along with another pull-out bed if you're bringing more than 6 people. The area was very safe; the place was also very clean. The kitchen was stocked with most everything we needed, even a few essential food items (not sure whether this is always the case). We were able to grab some things from the nearby 24-hour supermarket (SuperMax) and stock up on items to cook breakfast and make snacks or our own drinks before going out. There was even a Magic Bullet blender. Though the place is surprisingly beautiful, it's also very cozy, comfortable, and welcoming. We felt like we lived there the moment we walked in. Aaaaand, it's perfectly located! Driving a few minutes in either direction on the street the condo's located on will take you to Condado and Isla Verde; which are nice tourist areas, but you can retreat back to the calm of the condo's residential neighborhood. It's also very near the airport, so the taxi ride is very reasonable (I believe $10-15). The highway's easily accessible as well. We rented a car so we mostly got around that way and easily so. The map Enterprise provided us with (upon request) was very helpful in helping us get around as well. Old San Juan and the shopping and restaurant district on Calle Ashford is essentially a straight shot to the west. There's a 24-hour grocery store about 3 - 5 minutes east (SuperMax) and plenty of drug stores on Calle Loiza. When going out at night, we took a cab, which was also reasonably price for a group of 5 of us. Ana, the property manager, was so very nice, helpful, and accommodating! Thanks, Ana!

Owner response: When my husband and I purchased this apartment in 2005 we felt in love with it. And when it was time to move on we were sad to not called it our home. So when we decided to move out of Puerto Rico we wanted to keep the apartment like if we were living there. We left all our furniture, appliances, utensils, towels, sheets because we always wanted to come back and feel like we never left the place. Vacation rentals should be like being home away from home and this apartment has it all! We are very blessed we found a person that could also make everyone stays comfortable and welcoming and this is Ana. Ana is a friend and also is the person that takes care of the property and our guests, so we thank her for doing such a wonderful job. Even though I haven't been so diligent responding to my previous guests, I am very happy and thankful for everyone that have stayed in our home and have had a great vacation. We hope to see you soon!!!

This was the most perfect place that we could find. We were a group of 5 people (at times) and we all loved this location. The apartment has beach towels, and a couple of surf boards, the bedrooms are clean, beautiful, and modern. In the kitchen we found everything we needed for cooking and drinking and had wonderful meals. The pictures of this condo do not show how much better this place really is in person. Beach 2 minutes walk, and the pool is just downstairs. Tamara (the owner), and Ana (the manager) were wonderful and very helpful. The building gym is not good, but there is one about 20 minutes walk on Loiza street in Condado 10 dlls per visit and we love to walk! Tamara and Ana? You girls Rock!! Thanks so much and big hugs to you. R&D

Puerto Rico Retreat

We just recently returned from a wonderfully relaxing vaca to Puerto Rico...we went for a wedding and since the entire family was going we were looking for a nice comfortable home away from home place to stay...and I'm happy to say that is EXACTLY what we found. The homeowners and their assistant go the distance to make you feel truly welcomed. I traveled with my two kids (ages 1 and 6) and they truly felt relaxed with the thoughtful indoor and outdoor toys and entertainment provided, playpen, playground right in the backyard of the condomium :-) and beach in just a short walk away. The rooms were quite comfortable and Anna made herself available to any questions and needs we may have had. I highly recommend this condo it is truly family-friendly...no regrets...Thanks Tamara and Anna

My girlfriends and I spent four nights in the condo. Close to the beach (about 1/2 block around the corner). The managers were extremely helpful and that was wonderful. Able to walk to Condado in 20/30 minutes. Store around the corner but prices are outrageous. The gym was not in good condition with broken equipment. The condo was clean and very safe. Pool was nice too. Enjoyed our stay.

We were a Group of Six and was perfect with 3 rooms, Modern , Clean and very confortable apartment for the six of us, what we like the most was the walking distance to the beach .Theres a excellent steak restaurant within walking distance. The owner was really accomodating. would totally recomend it.

Great condo. we had a super time there. Just as pictured. Beautiful. We would highly recommend this condo for families. It is close to the beach and good resturants. We were there for 4 days. Relaxed by the pool and walked to the beach. We all had a great time in the living room at night. It was clean and comfortable, and on our next trip would stay here again!!

Having stayed in several apartments in Ocean Park, this was BY FAR the best! Spacious, great layout, excellent amenities (quality beach towels, kitchen equipped to the nines, washer/dryer in the unit, loads of places to put stuff, pool on premises); it was quiet and convenient to everything. The building was clean, with excellent security. Check-in/out couldn't have been easier -- Ana was prompt, delightful and very knowledgeable about the area. Definitely the best value in Ocean Park! We can only highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking to vacation like a local.
