Grace Bay condo description
*Although we consider all rental requests we general book 7 night weekend-to-weekend rentals.
Valentines - Open - Feb 9-15
Thank you for your interest in our Top Floor Luxury Suite. We would very much like to earn your business.
You are probably considering a vacation to Providenciales (aka Provo) because of the many wonderful things you have heard or read. Janet and I have traveled the Caribbean extensively and we can confirm it truly is a special place.
Our unit is located in the lush garden setting of the Coral Gardens Resort on Grace Bay and is in the middle of the Princess Alexandra Marine National Park Nature Reserve. This small intimate boutique resort has gentle waterfalls, inviting pools and a relaxing atmosphere. Best of all you are just steps away from snorkeling on the White House Reef.
The feature picture was taken from the balcony using my Iphone. Yes, you are so close you can throw a baseball in the ocean. It’s one of the closest on the island.
Thought you might like to know we are VRBO renters too. We have learned there is a wide variety in condo rentals. Things to consider are the closeness to the water (view and sounds of the ocean), condo condition, amenities and what extra costs will be at check-out. Sometimes there can be significant variances even in the same building.
We believe most come for rest. So we have paid particular attention on providing a very comfortable bed, blackout blinds and the best sleeping sofa bed for your guests.
To help you make a good decision we have posted lots of pictures, list our amenities, explained many of the features and totaled ALL costs in our rates. We believe we have created a unique experience and a tremendous value.
Here are some of the highlights: (send a request for more specifics about our unit, the resort and island).
* ALL COSTS ARE INCLUDED! This includes the 22% government tax and hotel fees and all our amenities (and we have more than most). FYI - most VRBO rentals apply the above costs at check-out.
* Our 1,000-sqft suite is the closest to the water on island. The spectacular view of the Caribbean Ocean's azure waters is unmatched. Our suite is just steps away from the famous White House Reef. Great snorkeling!
* Snorkel Gear for 4 People is in our suite and is for your use.
* Pillow Top King Bed in Bedroom
* Black-Out Blinds in the bedroom so you can sleep in or enjoy an afternoon nap.
* New Sofa Bed (with the thickest sleeping pad)
* Maid Service and Fresh Beach Towels Daily
* 3D Smart TV with NetFlix (2,000+ movies), Pandora, etc (sometimes you need a break from the sun).
* High Speed Wireless Internet in unit, pool and beach.
* It’s been professionally decorated and recently painted
* Use of ALL Property Amenities (Loungers, Parking, Laundry Room, FREE Parking, etc)
* An Island Cell Phone (take it to the beach, pool or anywhere on island)
* Two air conditioners. One central and one in the bedroom so you can sleep soundly.
* And it's very clean.
And there is more. I have a comprehensive letter about things to do on the island, some of our favorite restaurants and more information about the rental. Send me a request and I’ll forward a copy to you.
Your experience is important to us. Our guests check in and out with the resort management company. So be assured someone will be available for your every need. You won't be “on your own” like other VRBO rentals. And you won’t be cleaning, washing sheets and towels either.
We believe when you consider all we include that you will agree our rental is an excellent value.
Send me a request for details.
Rent from us and you will return home with memories to treasure.
Hope to hear from you.

Amazing! This one pushes all the buttons.
Amazing! This one pushes all the buttons.
We've been visiting a different island every February for the last seven years and we have found a new favorite. We've rented many condos and this one rates an A+. Everything the owner Ed said about his place is accurate. The condo is very well decorated with all the expected amenities including TVs, WIFI, full kitchen, comfortable king bed, etc. The view from the balcony is stunning and we used it every morning and evening. The location was exceptional with beach, snorkeling reef, restaurant and bar conveniently located at the resort. We usually don't get to know the staff on a first name basis but they were so helpful and friendly that you couldn't help but get to know them. Carolyn, Flo and Matthew in the office were always attentive and offered good advice on shopping and restaurants and helped arrange taxis. Gerome on the beach always looked after us making sure our beach chairs were at the ready. We were there at high season and the beach was busy but Gerome always was able to find chairs for us. The snorkeling was very good for an inshore reef and I took advantage of it daily as well as long beach walks in either direction. The Somewhere Bar and Grill onsite had excellent drinks and surprisingly good food so we ended up eating there 3 nights. We also walked up the beach to the local park on Thursday night for the open air fish fry that was also very good. After visiting 7 islands (St. John, St. Martin, Aruba, Grand Caiman, Bermuda, St. Croix, Barbados) this may be the first to get a return visit.

My family and I just returned from staying in this unit at Coral Gardens and it was great! We've been coming to the island for 6 years and have stayed in several units in Coral Gardens but this was by far our favorite. The furnishings and decor are excellent quality and the unit is equipped with everything plus some great extras. The view is stunning from the third floor-we were able to watch a 4-5' nurse shark swim by while we were on the balcony having lunch!! Snorkeling by the reef was spectacular. Being return visitors, we know most of the staff and everyone goes out of their way to make our stay memorable every year. We have stayed elsewhere on the island, but this location is ideal and reasonably priced. The restaurant Somewhere has great food and amazing staff. We'll be back again soon!

great island vacation
great island vacation
Our 5 days at Coral Gardens just wasn't enough time!! The flight through Charlotte wasn't bad ( under 3 hrs) and the 15 minute ride from the airport was easy enough. Our room wasn't ready since we got there early, but the office let us put our things there so we could have some lunch and head down to the beach. When we came back later, everything was already in our condo. The place was great, very clean with a beautiful view. Everyone really went out of their way to ensure a great vacation. Flo was an amazing employee, not sure what her job was because she was everywhere. I have been to many islands and found this one to have the most appreciative people here. So safe!! Don't hesitate to rent this condo, it is located so close to the beach and is priced very reasonably for this expensive island.

Spent a week at the Coral Gardens celebrating our 25th anniversary. My wife and I loved the place. The room had a great view, was nicely appointed and had all that we needed. We had coffee every morning on that balcony with the great view. Every day we spent time on the beach, snorkeling, sunning, and watching. Jerome would set up our beach chairs and open the umbrella and have it waiting for us each morning. The Bight reef has plenty to see and a nice variety of fish to look at. Can't say enough about how friendly the people are. Somewhere lounge has very good food and drink. Thanks Ed for sharing your condo. Look forward to coming back.

Returning guest..... Great again!
Returning guest..... Great again!
This is our second week long visit to TCI, Aug 2012 and aug 2013, and we have stayed in this same Coral Gardens unit both times and I will again! I don't know how an island getaway could be more complete! The condo is positioned ocean front! The trade winds are wonderful and the panel of sliding glass doors open fully onto the balcony providing a great view. We could see our kids swim in the lap pool below from the balcony, very convenient. A few footsteps behind the pool and we were on the beach and waters edge is only a few more feet. The dark water visible in the photos from the balcony is a living, thriving coral reef. I swam with 4 turtles one afternoon, sting rays, puffer fish, barracuda, parrot fish, on and on. It is amazing to walk out of your back door into the water and snorkel. This trip, I was able to do the pool training PADI scuba course and then also participate in a 45 minute scuba dive right behind Coral Gardens. This course was conducted by Matthew Williams, a master scuba diver and trainer as well as Marthew is in the Coral Gardens office. Each morning Matthew and Robin in the office would wait for our 6 and 8 year old girls to feed the cats. The staff is so friendly and inviting, very refreshing! They were helpful with suggestions for things to do each day as well as to call and schedule reservations for us. Caicos Adventures is on property right adjacent to the lap pool and we used them for boat excursions to snorkel and dive for shells and sand dollars, conch dives used to make conch salad on the beach, snorkeling over a ship wreck! Awesome fun! Parasailing, they pick you up in the boat right on the beach! Food... Wow! Somewhere Cafe is on property. I ate conch salad everyday! The best! Fish tacos with fresh grouper or snapper! They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. If you want to venture off of Coral Gardens property, several restaurants are walking distance down grace bay or there are a number of excellent restaurants on the island. We rented a car both trips and I would do it again. It's fun driving from the right side of the car and on the left side of the street plus it gave us the opportunity to move all around the island as well as to go out at night to restaurants. TCI is the place for us! Easy to move around the entire island. The locals are friendly! The condo is beach front, clean, modern, great view, and I know the owner strives to continue to improve the property! Can't get better than this for us! Thanks!

Manager response: Thanks for the great comments. I am sorry the new sofa bed didn't arrive before your trip. We tried hard. It came in two days after you left. So it's there for your next visit. I was told you used our snorkel gear a lot. It's good to hear. That's why we got them. Sounds like you had more fun than the first time. Thanks again, Ed
To qualify this review this was our third time in Provo, we absolutely adore the island. It is quite simply the best beach in the Caribbean bar none. On with the review. Rather than get all prosey and anecdotal I'll cut out the verbal drivel and bullet point it neatly so you can draw your own conclusions (perhaps the gentle tinge of a suggestion of another rainstorm up here is clouding my judgement): 1. This is NOT a penthouse suite (you can ask the property staff for details). There are NO penthouse suites in this section of the resort (phase 2 part). It IS an ocean facing suite, that is all. No big deal but be mindful of real estate lingo and don't expect indoor fountains and harp music to adorn your front door. 2. Our reservations were, let's say not executed well. The owner (Ed) confirmed availability by phone and email. By the time we had secured our flights we got a call from the assistant manager at the resort informing us that the unit was not in fact available for the first night so we'd be staying in a lesser room and moving the day after. The asst. manager (Matthew) was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to make our stay better. He is not to blame for this mess, the blame lies with the property owner. Again, not the end of the world situation but be mindful that this is not the first time this has happened from what I overheard. 3. I was not expecting any compensation, free cocktails or gold trinkets from Ed (the property owner) due to the above mess but I would've appreciated a small one line email along the lines of "I'm sorry about the inconvenience". That email evidently maybe stuck in limbo between some Nigerian investment opportunity and a Viagra ad in my spam box as I've yet to find it. 4. The pics from the suite of the ocean are accurate but a slightly wider lens would afford you the opportunity of viewing an abandoned construction project that sits to the west of that unit. So if you do visit don't look left. It's not an active construction so no noise just an eye sore. 5. Coral Gardens is situated right in front of the popular reef. This means it is one of the busiest parts of Grace bay beach as it attracts visitors from all over. Both a blessing and a nuisance all rolled into one. 6. The room decor/cleanliness is in serious need of an update. It is not aging gracefully. On the positive side the unit is reasonably priced off-season given the location. So there you have it. Overall, fair and far from outstanding.

Manager response: Dear Nikolay, I would like to apologize for the tardiness. I have been fulfilling a 5 week, in the mountains, Boy Scout commitment that has delayed my response. I returned yesterday afternoon (7/24). I am going to post this on our site as I think future guest should know of your experience. And they should know the other side of the story too (mine and Coral Gardens). I think it's important to note that Matthew, the manager, and I are needless to say confused by your e-mail. During your stay and at check-out you appeared to be happy so we were shocked by your review. Yes, the one day overlap was my fault. Your reservation request came in just 8 days before your trip date and I knew you needed a prompt reply. At the time I was not at my computer so, from memory, I sent you an immediate reply. You were made aware of this one day overlap as soon as we realized it (the next morning) and this was 2 days before you committed. So this was known upfront and agreed to before money was exchanged. I apologize again. I guess we can debate the words penthouse suite. I have stayed in 400 sqft rooms that were label "suite". I believe our 1,000 sqft condo, top floor, fully equipped, with the terrific view is a penthouse suite. Also, many similar units on island are labeled penthouse suite. Most of the pictures of the condo, including the balcony picture, were taken from my iPhone. No special camera or lense. I also sent you a 4 page letter that listed all condo contents, all amenities and things to do on the island. This too was sent 2 days before you committed. I also paid the difference in your first night. Yes the owner of that 500 sqft efficiency rents it for more than our place. Matthew even gave you access to a balcony unit so you could enjoy a similar view until the next day when you moved to our place. So again we are bewildered as to why the issues known before you committed are bones of contention now. Janet and I believe vacations are important and we always want our guest to have an enjoyable relaxing one. I am truly sorry you did not have a good experience renting from us. Best wishes, -Ed
Best Value on Grace Bay - Position "A" for Snorkeling
Best Value on Grace Bay - Position "A" for Snorkeling
The staff at Coral Gardens are all about making sure you have enjoyable stay, acting as concierge for all your desires. Matthew, Robin, Raul and Gerome were outstanding during our entire stay. They were all wonderful. Ed has equipped this unit with many extras that the other units do not have. We had this thrid floor 1 bedroom with a fantastic view, for not much more money that a garden view studio at some other places. After searching around a lot, this was unquestionably the best value on Grace Bay. The 4 sliding glass doors all moved back for a beautiful full wall view. The room had everything we could want including a very comforatbale king bed, 1.5 baths, air conditioning, ceiling fans, flat screen TV's with cable TV, large balcony, wireless internet, black out curtains, IPOD dock station, full kitchen with ice maker, 4 snorkel sets with fins, etc etc.etc. They really have anticipated our every need. Not all the units have these features - This unit has both a great view and everything you need. If you love snorkeling, look no further. Coral Gardens is mere steps from the best snorkeling on Provo. Other resorts don't have much reef access - they send their people to the Coral Gardens, because it's clearly the best. If you want to walk a mile or so or drive to a snorkel spot, stay elsewhere. If you want to walk right from your unit to the reef, stay at Coral Gardens. Most days the water was relatively calm, makiing for very clear water conditions. You can stay close to shore or head out farther to see large schools of fish. There is also great swimming there too. Another great thing about Coral Gardens is having a great restaraunt right on site. Somewhere is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a late night drink. You can eat on the beach and charge it to your room, so no need to carry cash. We had a fantastic time at Coral Gardens and are considering renting this unit for a full month next year. You better book it before we do!

Ed, we stayed at your condo at Coral Garden the first two weeks of February and just wanted to tell you what a great time we had. The view from your condo is amazing and all the people who work there are very helpful. There are other Caribbean places my husband and I want to see but I'm going to keep your information because I'm sure we will want to go back to the Caicos again in the next few years. We got back last and wanted you to know we had such a wonderful time. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! Your condo is perfect! So comfortable and nicely decorated. We felt like we were on vacation but so at home in your condo and at Coral Gardens. We loved the property, everyone was so nice and everything so convenient. We ate at Somewhere almost every night because the food is good and we loved the people. Our daughter, loved everything - we would go back in forth from the beach to the pool and she never wore shoes the whole time we were there, she was so at home. We just can’t say enough about what a nice, relaxing time we had, it is so nice to go and be able to truly relax. We relax in Italy but being in the Turks and Caicos is a whole different level of relaxing. We really fell in love with the island and the people and we are even thinking about adopting a potcake (a local mutt)! I'll let you know if we do! We are already talking about our return to the island we feel like it is such a good family vacation spot. Have a great day! Thank you again! Liesl
