This was my first trip to Costa Rica and first HomeAway experience, both of which were amazing. This property is exactly as it was described. The property owner is very prompt in all responses; providing property directions, answering questions and renter requests. Highlights: -The landscaping and view as you drive up to the gated community is breathtaking. Manicured hedges line the road before you reach the gate, some of the best landscaping I saw during my stay. -220 ft waterfall within walking distance of this property. -Grocery store, gas station and restaurants within 10 minute drive -Best sunset views from this property! I would highly recommend this property to anyone. It was relaxing, private and peaceful. I am definitely looking forward to the next time I can make the trip and visit this property again!

My wife and I spent a month staying at the villa. It came supplied with everything one could possibly need for a comfortable visit. The unit is air conditioned but we ended up never using it. The house was very comfortable with just the ceiling fans. The view from the patio over the valley and out to the ocean is magnificent. We would spend dawn and dusk sitting out on chairs watching the day begin and end. Having our own private pool was a luxury. We could jump in and out for a quick dip during the heat of the day. Bryan and Tracie were very accomodating and made us feel very welcome. We alway had quick responses to emails and voice mails whenever we needed anything. The villa was a private paradise for a month. We actually ended up re-booking again for next year before we even left,

We would recommend Cascada Azul to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with complete privacy, while still being close to Playa Dominical. It is definitely recommended that you have a 4x4 vehicle to get to the shops and restaurants. The house was very clean and well-maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed from a blender, toaster oven, coffee maker, filtered water, pots and pans, etc. The place also has wireless internet. Bryan really took pride in the villa and the surrounding property. The pool was great for morning and afternoon sun and for a peak at the surrounding wildlife. Bryan was extremely helpful and informative on places to eat, surf spots, and other neat local information. We can't wait to go back and enjoy the house as well as the stunning sunset views.

My family stayed at the villa for 4 weeks and it was amazing. If you are looking for a getaway this is the place. Remote, but not too remote being a short drive from Dominical town which is where you can shop for souvenirs, pick up some groceries, grab a bite, get surf lessons, or just have a drink. We travelled with our 2 children 3 and 12 so, safe for kids, they will never leave the pool, but who could blame them wait until you witness the view yourself! The property is well maintained and safe. Bryan and his family were very welcoming and helpful in regards to where to shop, eat and activities. We will be back soon! Don't forget to ask about the Jungle Retreat!! Tina and Oscar

Prior to my arrival, Bryan was very friendly, accommodating and helpful with anything I needed. Arriving to Cascada Azul, it was fun going up the long gravel road to the entrance gate where I had to punch in the security code to enter. This made me feel very safe staying here with no worries. (I would highly recommend renting a car or SUV with 4wd!) When I drove up to the lot where I was staying, I was amazed at how beautiful the house and the scenery around it was. The pictures do not do it justice! When I entered the home it was very clean and felt welcoming, it did not take long to feel right at home! Every morning I would wake up and see beautiful hummingbirds flying around the hibiscus plants lined through out the property. I even got to see toucans flying right in the back yard! The closest beach is Dominical which is only 10 minutes away, and it felt like a much shorter drive than that. I would go to Dominical almost every night to eat dinner and then enjoy the nightlife at the bars afterwards (Maracatu, San Clemente Bar & Grill, Roca Verde, etc.) There are many delicious restaurants to eat at too. And if you decide you want to make dinner yourself and stay in at the house, there is a supermarket full of food to buy for reasonable prices only about 10 minutes away in Dominical. I highly recommend going to Don Lulo's Horseback Riding tour to Nauyaca Waterfalls. (www.cataratasnauyaca.com) It is a wonderful experience and a lot of fun! The homemade food prepared by the family is delicious too! Another great tour is zip lining at Hacienda Baru. It was a lot of fun, especially for a beginner like me! Another place I would recommend going to is Manuel Antonio National Park. It's about 25-30 minutes north from the complex. It has beautiful white sandy beaches and a lot of wildlife, even monkeys! It is a great city to see and a lot of great restaurants and tourist attractions. Coming to Costa Rica and staying at Cascada Azul made me never want to leave! When I come back to Costa Rica I plan on staying here again! There is not one thing I can say bad about Costa Rica and staying at Cascada Azul! I've vacationed to tropical islands before and Costa Rica is by far my number one place to travel to! A big thank you to Bryan and Tracey for your hospitality and friendliness! Thank you for helping with making my trip an amazing experience! Pura Vida!

This is an amazing house. We were there for 2 months and every day was a pleasure. The house is fully equipped, so you only need to bring the groceries! Imagine swimming in your own private pool with a view of a river valley and Pacific Ocean? The house is located on a hill, so there is less humidity and there is also a nice breeze from the ocean. If you want to go to the Ocean it is only a 15 or 20 minutes to a variety of beaches. You won't want to leave and when you do you can't wait to return

With pristine mountain, ocean and valley views, Cascada Azul has it all. Nestled on a tranquil ridge east of Baru (a quaint, authentic Costa Rican village), this elegant, yet affordable gated community is the perfect Central American getaway home. As a Canadian writer seeking a peaceful -- and warm -- place to work for the winter, I was shocked to discover luxury at such prices. Management was friendly and attentive, able to book excellent and affordable excursions to area attractions on my behalf. Playa Dominical, only a five minute drive, offers everything from surfing to scuba diving to restaurants and nightlife. While not touring the area, I was content to relax at home in the pool, where I felt connected to nature. Visible on the property was a wide and beautiful array of Costa Rican wildlife, including Toucans, Aracari, Iguanas, Pizotes and Ant Eaters. At least three species of bananas grow wild here, and it was always a pleasure to see the Landlord drop by with a free bunch of Platanos to mix into a smoothie. Whether for a week or a season (I took advantage of long term rates), Cascada Azul is a treat. I'll be back.

We arrived after dark to find a well-maintained & welcoming villa. We had no problem locating the property since the owner, Bryan, had emailed an accurate map prior to our trip. Although the roads are in good condition, you will need to rent a 4WD vehicle. The listing description was accurate regarding location, layout, ocean-view, etc. The surroundings are beautiful & we felt very safe during our 9-day stay. We asked for 2 twin beds to replace the king-size bed in one of the rooms, for my 18 & 21 year-old sons. Bryan was happy to accommodate. Everything we needed was provided in a very timely manner. There are many activities in the area, including a wonderful half-day horse riding tour, complete with waterfalls, swimming holes, wild life & 2 meals, for a very reasonable price. Bryan assisted us with the reservations. I initially inquired about this property, because the price was significantly lower than anything else I could find. Although there was a security deposit, it was returned to me less than a week after arriving home. (We did take very good care of the property.) I did miss my dishwasher at home, but would stay in this property again without hesitatation, & feel very good about recommending it to others. JB

We delight our stay in Barù. It is well located to discover Costa Rica. We easily travel through the country. It is closed from Quepos and Uvita and it is at 3 hours to San José. Bryan is very helpful to inform us about the closest stores and commodities. We stayed for three months and we had some friends who have visited us during this time. The house could welcome 4 peoples during this time without any problem. So, it is a wonderful place for someone who searches to discover the country, enjoy nature and wildlife. As they said here: it is just Pura vida !

This is what I went to Costa Rica for!! House was totally rad but I really fell in love with the whole property and views. My kids walked around exploring for hours on end allowing my wife and I to relax and drink lots of amazing coffee. Property was really safe feeling as was the whole area. An experience we will never forget. So close to the beach of Dominical that i could go surf every morning. Views....views....views!! sunsets were unbelievable and you could literally see and hear the rain coming through the rain forest right up to the house. We never closed a window! A warm tropical breeze somehow always found us. Amazing! This is our new family vacation spot. Oh yeah...and we met the owners....what an amazing, honest, and fun loving group!

Cascada Azul exceeded my expectations. The villa I stayed in was very clean and spacious. I had no problems at all. The villa is located in a great location. I was in Dominical in 10 minutes to surf the great waves. Bryan is the owner, who dropped by to make sure all was well. Staying at Cascada Azul worked well with my budget. The full kitchen was great, as I cooked many of my meals. The wireless internet helped me stay in touch with all the news of the day. I highly recommend Cascada Azul as the place to stay on the central pacific side of Costa Rica.

A lovely place ! Nearby Dominical with the beach and San Isidro for pleasant shopping, Cascada Azul offers you the perfect starting point for many excursions in the area. You do need a car when staying there, because it is a bit higher up on the mountain, with a splendid valley and ocean view. Beautiful nature and absolute rest are guaranteed and the house itself is clean, cosy and offers you all the comfort you can wish. And when you step out of the living room, you can jump right away into the swimming pool. A place we can warmly recommend!

My stay in Cascada Azul was excellent. We really enjoyed how peaceful and beautiful the area was. We had some amazing ocean view sunsets and the valley views were awesome. We loved seeing the lights of the tiny town of Baru below us at night, and also liked the sense of security from being in a gated community. The villa was very clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. It was nice to be so close to the beach, surfing, rafting, ziplines, fishing, Reptile Zoo, horse back riding to Nayaca Waterwall, Manuel Antonio beach, and the city of San Isidro. All the conveniences were within 10 minutes: ATM/bank, gas, stores, restaurants, gifts, tours; yet the Villa was a private and peaceful retreat. The owners, Bryan and Tracie, were very kind and hospitable and helped our stay be excellent. We plan on coming back again and highly recommend it.

I am writing to you on behalf of Michael & myself. We had a wonderful stay at your rental house in Baru. The house was super clean and well maintained. The view from the back porch was absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed having dinner out there after a long day of sun and surfing - so quiet, serene, beautiful - except for a little frog that liked to join us every night! :) We felt very safe in the gated community and that was important to us. Knowing that we had a washer and dryer ahead of time made packing a much easier task. Thanks again for having us on your beautiful property. We've talked about coming back with our friends that have little kids. What a great place it would be for families who travel!

After traveling extensively throughout beautiful Costa Rica, the time my wife and I had at Cascada Azul still remains one of our fondest memories. The contemporary villa where we stayed was very comfortable with all the amenities, great privacy and spectacular mountain and ocean views. The owners were very helpful, kind people and the location is simply fantastic. One can spend the day relaxing at the villa, hiking to the private waterfalls on the grounds or enjoying one of the countless activities, restaurants and beaches within minutes’ drive. This place is fantastic and well worth a visit!

The villas at Cascada Azul are amazing. Not only do you have hot water in the bathrooms and a king size bed in master bedroom, but you have air conditioning and ceiling fans. The whole villa is beautifully handcrafted and built. From the villa that we stayed in we had an amazing sunset view that was breath taking. I always wanted to be home at that time of day. The appliances are nice and having a washer/dryer combo for your clothes is another plus. Another wonderful thing about these villas is the owner of the villa is right up the road to answer your questions. Okay, not too many questions b/c he has a life too. You feel very safe there, and that's worth more than anything. If I could, I would stay there every year. It's a great location to Domincal and Perez Zeledon. Which are wonderful places to go for your beach needs and market needs. And the villa is kid friendly as well and has an outdoor shower to wsh all the sand off from the beach. And enough spaces and cubby holes for all you items. Overall I give this place an A+. Amy Miles
