What a wonderful and tranquil place for a get away. We explored the area and did some wine tasting. The cottage is walking distance to old down town Angels Camp. Short distance Murphy's, Old Columbia, and Sonora. The cottage is immaculate, warm and cozy. The living room has a gas burning stove that adds a touch of romance. The views are spectacular esp with the touch of frost on the pasture in the morning. It is a working ranch so the cattle roam the property and the horses right across from the cottage like a little petting. Clearly has an outdoor set up for children, probably in the warmer weather. The owners have decorated in a western ranch theme perfect for the location. Kitchen was fully stocked with spices, pots and and pans had some great meals in the evenings. Everything about the cottage reflects the pride of ownership, We will return in the spring.

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We made an excellent choice of a restful, comfortable, and well-appointed retreat for our week long stay in Angels Camp. We attended a plein air workshop in near-by Murphys. Friends did also. They stayed in a local motel and paid more for less. They were over to our cottage every night for wine and BBQ and they enjoyed each dinner on our patio with beautiful surroundings and good food. We did Murphys and Angel Camp towns and enjoyed both. Also highly recommend the Sierra Market in Angels Camp and it's twin in Murphys. Great meat, produce, and excellent stock of other food and non-food items. We highly recommend the cottage and hope to return there soon. (If you travel with kids there's a mini-play area complete with slide, swing, and monkey bar)

What a great rustic experience to be in Angels Camp over the holdiays. We really appreciated the WiFi coverage so we could get up and work early in the morning and then play and enjoy the rest of the day - and evening. The cottage is warm and cosy and we love the little gas-heated stove to take the chill off. We walked to town for coffee and lunch and loved being with the horses, and of course Molly. Thanks for a great week!

We had a wonderful time here. It's one of the best Thanksgivings I have had in a long time. I was able to go at a slow and peaceful speed (meant to say pace). The cottage is great. I love it. The only situation we incurred was the hot water (fixed immediately) and operating the TV. The ranch is beautiful. I will stay again. My stay wasn't long enough to enjoy the horses, so I need to come back. Thank you so much for such a clean and lovely cottage.

Thank you so much for such a lovely place to stay. There's just something restful and relaxing about ranch life. We love the sounds of the cows, horses, coyotes and frogs. Goodbye to Bob and Anne and to Duke, Belle and Molly. We hope to see all of you again soon. We're off to Alaska for Thanksgiving at home with the family.

Thanks for a beautiful memory. We have been to many VRBO places and your Littlewood Ranch was the very best of them all. We love to cook and the kitchen was complete with all we needed. We had some delightful dinners on the patio. You have a gorgeous property. Hope someday to see you again and thanks for everything. And best to Molly the Lab, and Duke and Belle the horses.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was so quiet and very homey. It was much more than we expected and was a true delight to stay here. We were able to explore from Placerville to Sonora, Murphys and Big Trees. Thank you for sharing your wonderful little cottage with us and we look forward to our next visit. It made our 25th anniversary very special and will create a lasting memory for us.

We enjoyed staying at the Cottage. It was comfortable, peaceful and we enjoyed the wildlife (woodpeckers and quail) also the horses and Molly the dog. where here we explored California and Mercer Caverns. Wwe went to Columbia State Park, Angels Camp Museum and Ironstone Winery. We missed the 1:30 pm weekday tour at Ironstone but explored the entensive grounds and wonderful gardens on our own. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

We had a lovely long weekend getaway at the cottage this past weekend. We went with our daughter, her husband and two small children - The cottage was very clean and accommodating - the owners thought of everything - just perfect -- they have a little playground for the children to play on and they loved petting the horses and playing with the owners black lab, molly - We enjoyed barbequeing on the patio and relaxing under the stars as we ate our meal - just a beautiful setting - went to a concert at the winery in Murphy's and it was just a hop, skip and jump to get there - perfect place to stay while you are exploring the gold country - we can't wait to go back again - The owners let us park our 26 ft. motorhome in front of the cottage - they were very accommodating about that - thanks for a wonderful visit at Littlewood Ranch!

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2002

About the owner: I bought Littlewood Ranch in late 2002 when I retired from a career in journalism and international public relations. Since I was a teenager in Southern California, I've enjoyed horses and ranching. Now I can tend fences, help neighboring ranchers round-up and brand cattle, and 'ride the range'. The main house (our home) is a 1950s style ranch house and is about 200 feet from The Cottage, yet separated by nearly 60 trees that provide an ever-changing landscape depending on the season.

Why the Owner Chose Angels Camp:
The Cottage on Littlewood Ranch is just 200 feet from the main house on the ranch. We've used it for years as a guest cottage for our friends and family visiting the area. Now we're offering it to visitors who want to enjoy all that Angels Camp and the Gold country have to offer.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Privacy, wonderful views, working ranch, proximity to main roads, proximity to restaurants, movies, museums, wine tasting rooms and wineries, and numerous outdoor activities for all ages, abilities and intersts.
