This is a classically beautiful 1840's farmhouse that has been comfortably updated. The main house is handsomely appointed with antique and contemporary furniture, and has a living room, library, eat-in kitchen, three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. A roomy screened porch off the kitchen overlooks consevation land and a serene landscape and is the perfect spot for morning coffee or al fresco dining. After a day at the beach, enjoy the outdoor shower before a nap on the porch or in the hammock.
The original barn has been converted to a charming, bright and airy lofted guesthouse. It has a complete second kitchen and a huge stone table in the dining area that seats 10. This guesthouse has a full bath and sleeps four.
The buildings are surrounded by gardens with wisteria, roses and flowering shrubs. The two-acre property is very private yet is less than a mile to all of Wellfleet's attractions: walk, bike or drive to the galleries and restaraunts, the ocean beaches, the warm bay beaches and the famous freshwater ponds.

Our family was VERY fortunate to have spent Thanksgiving weekend at this lovely property on the Cape. What a find! Both houses were clean, comfortable and well appointed --- instantly welcoming---which is a rare attribute in vacation home rentals. I could tell the owner put careful consideration in anticipating the needs of each guest. Everything was perfect! As a seasoned traveler, I was pleasantly surprised to find such spacious and beautifully appointed rooms, with good lighting, quality linens and comfortable furnishings to make us feel like home. The grounds were notable as well -- together with the beautiful lawn furniture, statuary and regional plantings. The BIG SURPRISE was the barn outbuilding (guest house) that quickly became the favorite hide-a-way for my teenage sons --replete with a comfortable sleeping loft, living room with pull-out sofa, unique long slender granite dining table and full kitchen & private full bath. I think I even liked it better than the main house just because of the high ceilings and open-plan loft space. The living room had a big screen TV hidden inside an armoire, which made for a relaxing area to watch movies. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone looking for a family reunion compound or a large group of friends who just want to escape to Cape Cod for a week. We can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: we are glad that the details we put into this rental were appreciated. new improvements including renovated bedrooms, recessed lighting and a new sound system have been installed since this rentor was with us. we no longer supply linens but do have full laundry facilities.
