  We had a wonderful time at the River House. We liked it more and more as we spent out time thier as a Mother's day get-away. The location and property were just as described. We really liked the easy walk to old town and around the harbor area. The house was ''move in ready" and had everything we needed for a fun week-end. We would definitely stay again.

  We had a great time. The house has an open great room to gather in as well as remote spaces to for privacy. One thing to note though, is that you have to walk through bedrooms to get to the bedrooms upstairs. For our family it was not a problem but for complete privacy it could be a problem for some. The house was clean and well appointed. No internet though.

  My family had an amazing reunion at the Historic Bandon House. This is our second stay.We had 15 people in our group and had no problem with sleeping quarters or eating space and was very clean. The house has everything, so all you need to do is bring food. The river is behind you and the beautiful ocean is about three blocks to your right. So close to the little town of Bandon (just walk down the small hill) for shopping and great coffee at the coffee house. We went crabbing and in 2 days caught 11 crab to feed the family. We also, early one morning when the tide was out went searching for mussels on the rocks at the ocean, they were delicious. Love the town, the ocean and the sand dunes! I highly recommend Bandon to everyone, what a fun and relaxing place!

  Our family reunion was fantastic because of the wonderful River House! It is beautiful, whimsical, clean and spacious! The pictures do not do it justice. It is breathtaking in person! We love, love, loved it and DEFINITELY plan on coming back! The owner was very helpful. We enjoyed daily walks into old town Bandon, rock skipping just outside our door, crabbing with the supplied crab cages, the Animal Safari Park, the Botanical Gardens, the lighthouse tour, etc.. We would happily recommend this property to anyone! It is a real gem!

  A really nice old house with lots of potential, but UNproffesionally manaqed. Owner difficult to contact and work with. Temperature inside the house upon arrival was 38 degrees and took four hours with heaters on before the ladies could remove their coats. Housekeeping leaves much to be desired. Centerpiece of livingroom is the gas fireplace, too bad it did not work! Kitchen and dining area is very nice and well stocked, but watch out for the beds, dirty linens and the master bed is two beds pushed together of unequal heights. I had to spend one hour of my time cleaning the gunk out of the jaccuzzi tub before my wife would use it, by that time the mood was gone. Downstairs futon in sun room was full of dirt, pet hair and covered with lint that stuck to our clothing. Pet rock display is unique but could use a good vacumming to remove cobwebs and dirt accumulation. The place was recomemded to us by close friends who were present for dinner that night and equally disapointed. We made the best of our stay becaus afterall we were there to have fun, but it was not a memorable time in the way we would have liked. Resevations were difficult to obtain and afterward the owner was not interested in our evaluation and only made excuses. The Riverhouse is a very intesting place to visit with a great location in Oldtown Bandon. I would hope you enjoy yourself if you choose to stay there.

  We stayed at this charming home while moving my mother. We could not have been more pleased by the warm feel that the home had as well as the comforts they provided. My daughters enjoyed finding rocks to add to their collection - another special touch of the home. The views are spectacular and it is within walking distance to all the downtown shops. After managing our own motel for 4 years, we were please with the cleanliness of the home. We would stay here again and hope to in the near future.

  Downstairs beds had mouse excrement in them. Owner was very defensive and after a lot of discussion made only a small adjustment to our bill. This was very unexpected and unfortunate for such a lovely place otherwise. The problem was obviously ongoing since there were electronic pest controls in the house. I was also accused of lying about leaving messages before our arrival. The owner was difficult to work with.

  Spent three magical days here with daughter, son-in-law and 7-year-old grandson: Terrie has thought of everything imaginable for comfort and fun. House is wonderfully situated, spacious without being too large for the four of us, yet roomy enough for a family reunion or several couples. River House is equipped for care-free holiday. Don't even look further--this is the place to be for a quiet, charming village (Bandon); spectacular beaches with amazing rock formations, tidal pools, sea lion rookery, etc; and down-home charm.

  I stayed at this beautiful, old, charming and unique property in June of 2010 and have to say that it had to be one of the most characteristic and charming houses I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Not only was it clean and comforatable. It was in the perfect location to walk to town or to the beach. I loved the fact that no matter where you looked in this house you would discover something of interest between the antiques or the decor. We had a beautiful vacation in this home and look forward to staying herer again.

  The River House is truly a warm, welcoming, peaceful and wonderful place to stay! You just feel so relaxed! Although the house is very old it has been updated nicely and is full of charm & character. Great view of the ocean and lighthouse and you can walk over to the beach and ocean. There are so many things to see and s o close by. I had my grandkids and some friends with me and we all had a geat time! I would really recommend going to lunch at the Bandon Dunes golf course, it was excellent! I hated to leave.

Additional information about rental rates

Rates are for 2 adults. $10.00 for each additional guest per night, over the age of 10. Weekly rates; no additional charge for up to 10 guests. Holidays require a 3 night minimum stay. Pets are welcome, upon advance approval. $10 per night, per pet. Weddings & Events require a $450. event fee

Cancellation policy:

Thank-you for your reservation! We truly appreciate your business and look forward to your return visits to charming Bandon~By~The~Sea and this very special vacation home. Please read the information below. If you have any questions, please let us know. Credit Card: Your credit card reserves the house for you and is for deposits. Your credit card also insures us of any payments due to any circumstances below. To secure your reservation, your credit card will be charged 50% of the approximate total amount due at the time of reservation. Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your reservations, we require a 90-day advance notice during Summer High Season (May ~ Oct.) and Holidays; all other times require a 60-day notice. Cancellations received more that 60/90 days in advance of your stay will result in an 80% refund and we find another renter, otherwise, 50% is refundable. This amount is non-refundable due to late notice cancellations. Damage / Cleaning and or Pet Deposit: A non-refundable cleaning deposit of $80 is required. Pet fee is $10.00 per night, per pet. Please Do Not move furniture around unless special arrangements have been made. If we do not collect a security deposit in advance, you are still obligated for any damages or extra cleaning*. If damages or cleaning exceed the deposit amount, you are obligated for additional expenses. If we find the need to apply any extra charges for the above, we will contact you. Please call for your security code to get into the house. Please confirm code before your arrival and keep the combination handy. The most frequently asked questions: Kitchen: fully equipped including, coffee maker, blender, crock pot, dish towels, microwave, dishwasher, paper towel (one roll); Bathrooms: have two rolls of toilet paper and hand soap; Linens and towels are provided. Please read the house rules on the Refrigerator upon check-in. Please do not bleach colored sheets, towels and other colored fabric.
