  Casa Camille is a beautiful home with everything my family needed. My two kids (ages 5 and 9) played in the salt water pool all day and loved every minute. The house is close to the beach - about a 5 minute walk. The staff from the owner to the housekeeper were all fantastic. I recommend this house. I can't wait to return.

  My wife & I and our 2 daughters spent 2 weeks in Casa Camille and I can honestly say we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Having spent time in many other beach properties in many different countries we knew what we wanted and what to expect and that's exactly what we got - a stunningly beautiful house in a jungle setting and yet just steps to the beach. What a pleasure to awake in the morning (although perhaps not at 5:30 thanks to our howler monkey neighbors) and have a coffee & then breakfast by the pool, walk to the beach in under 5 minutes for a surf and then return to lounge in the hammocks or chairs by the pool again. We found the house exactly the right size for the 4 of us. You could sleep kids in the bunk beds in the 3rd bedroom but I wouldn't recommend it for adults. The A/C in the bedrooms ensured a great night's sleep & didn't need to be turned on until after dinner to still cool the rooms. The BBQ and outdoor eating area were great and we used them anytime we ate in (about half the nights). The kitchen is not a "chef's kitchen" but we had no problems at all cooking everything we wanted. Yes the toaster oven takes a while but if you're in that much of a hurry maybe you shouldn't be staying on a beach in Costa Rica. Grocery & restaurant prices aren't cheap but we found them quite reasonable. We had a car, which really helped in terms of getting groceries and driving to restaurants but you could get by using taxis. Kim & her husband, the realtors in charge of the property, were unbelievably friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. If you're interested in a luxurious, laid-back surfing vacation in Costa Rica, you couldn't choose a better home base than Casa Camille. We would absolutely return there and would recommend it to any friends and family. Thanks so much for a wonderful time.

  I think some people should be made aware that Costa Rica is a beautiful Country. However most of the Beaches in Costa Rica are in a Maritime Zone and set back 200 Meters from the Ocean. That 200 Meters is Jungle !!! When you are in the Jungle you will see Monkeys, Butterflies, Iguana's and Bugs. If you are looking for a resort on the beach with swim up bars and no wildlife This might not be the right place for you. There's not much you can do about a Bad Review because someone saw a Bug !!!

  Casa Camille has a great pool and is in such a great location. If you're looking for beach, beach, pool, and more beach, this is a great place for you. On the other hand, be aware that there are a few less than desirable aspects. The "fully stocked kitchen" is lacking. The pots and pans are adequate, but if you like to cook, and are cooking for several people, expect to feel like you're camping. The grill works great and the basics are in place. The blender is awesome for smoothies, but good luck making toast in the toaster oven. The pans are in sorry shape, but there is a decent knife and the refrigerator, though small for a larger group, kept things cold. The bedrooms have comfortable beds, but the gaps around the doors don't provide much in the way of keeping out bugs. This home is in the jungle. Expect to see scorpions, raccoons, armadillos, monkeys, skunks, and some of the largest grasshoppers you can imagine. The "security" of the home is also a concern. There are several places where the fence could easily be trespassed, and all of the doors on the bedrooms can be pulled open when locked. We were very careful to use the large safe. The owner never made an appearance and did little to communicate, except about his payment. Nosara is very beautiful, but it is more expensive than we expected. You will pay US or more for food, dining out, and particularly any vehicle expenses. Bikes are a great option, but the roads are very dusty and not well maintained for the type of bikes available. Having traveled in many parts of the world, Casa Camille was not up to par for the price. With some work and a little investment from the owner it could be an outstanding property. Eat at the Beach dog Cafe- especially dinner! Also visit the Yoga House right in town (not the Institute)- take a class from Lauren or Quin. You won't be disappointed. Also, Nosara Stand Up Paddle is a great way to see the river, or learn to surf. My husband got great surf lesson from Coconut Harry's. The third bedroom is attached to the main bedroom and you have to walk through it to get to the bathroom. It is also not air conditioned. Again, no problem except that the screen doors don't lock... There is no option for a potential 9th and 10th person to sleep, unless they don't mind sleeping on a truly disgusting, falling apart couch. All in all, we ended up enjoying ourselves, but it was not due to the amenities of the home.

  Owner response: I have to truly say this is the first time I knew we would get a bad review from the moment the people checked into Casa Camille. It took them 2 days from checking out and getting back to the states to send in this review. First to address the Issue of never seeing the owner. I have a property manager who handles Casa Camille. It was her who informed me that we had a guest who was not Happy from the moment of Check In. We offered to help find this Family another property but it seemed they finally got the message that any where they went they would see the same things they complained about with our house. I would also like to say if you look at our reviews we have had over 30 family's in Casa Camille since it went on the rental market last year. I guess some people understand Costa Rica is in the Jungle. As far as security we have a 24 hour security guard at Casa Camille. I heard no mention of anything missing from this Family. I am sorry for there disappointment but I am sure if they come back to Nosara and stay anywhere else they can expect some of the same concerns they have expressed with Casa Camille. Last to address about the owner concerned about payment. Everyone usually pays the balance of there rental at check in. These folks did not pay until a few days before they checked out. We wish them a better trip on there next vacation.

  I traveled with 3 couples to Nosara and the house was in a great location. So easy to get to the beach and to the town. The agents were very helpful throughout the week making reservations for us and having great suggestions on what to do and see. I just have to say that there is air conditioning in only 2 of the bedrooms, not all of them. The fans are a big help in that room, but I think it's better to know that before you go. And if you go, bring your own flashlights. Everyone walks at night, but there are very few lights. Good to know before you go.

  House had wonderful layout, you felt like you were a part of the local nature. All rooms face the well groomed central pool area. Rooms were private. Outdoor dining area is a special touch. Kitchen was very accomodating. Plenty of bathrooms..,the house had a local easy feeling about it. We liked this spot because you could walk to beach and town (loved the town and the people) yet feel like you were in your own private secluded tropical paradise while at home.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

  4 of my girlfriends and I spent an incredible week at Casa Camille! We had such a great time that we are already planning our return. And we will definitely stay at Casa Camille. Ken and Donna were very helpful, the house was so comfortable, and it was convenient to everything in town. We could walk to the beach, to all the restaraunts in town, to the shopping and to the store. That aspect made it perfect for us when we all wanted to do our own thing. It was great to have the full kitchen so those of us who wanted to eat in could. And, the outdoor dining under the ranchero was wonderful. I don't think we ate one meal inside! It was also nice to have the kitchen separate from the bedrooms. There was never any worry of waking anyone early or keeping anyone up. I can't comment on the bedrooms much, since I slept in a hammock by the pool every night. Falling sleep looking at the stars, waking up to birds - life doesn't get much better! I definitely recommend some hammock time, even if you don't want to spend the entire night there. I can tell you that the bedrooms are air conditioned, which my travel partners enjoyed very much. And having three full baths was a huge bonus for us women. Ken and Donna were both so helpful, getting us settled in and helping us when we had questions. Ken works right at the beach, knows everyone and was always willing to answer our questions. Donna had all sorts of great ideas about where to go and how to get there. They definitely care about the area and the people in this place they now call "home". Give yourself lots of time to enjoy the beach, the sunsets and the sights. And, definitely stay at Casa Camille!
