ONE block to the beach and pier! Enjoy strolling the beach or hiking out in the estuary for bird watching or biking. Very quiet, yet near all of San Diego's main attractions as well. Long stretches of beautiful beaches without the crowds and only 20 minutes to downtown. Newly decorated second floor unit that is perfect for one couple, or a second on a sleeper sofa. Parking space, always in great demand, is provided for one vehicle on site. This part of San Diego will remind you of the original California surf city with great local hang outs and the sound of surf easing you to sleep each night. Great views, great weather and nice walks on the beach. Never a crowd, great surf and pristine water for ocean lovers. Weather is great year round but summer is best. Avoid the crowds by visiting in the spring and fall. We book up fast during peak season. What can we say.....you'll fall in love with San Diego and this little hideaway that is part of it.

The property where I stayed was exactly as described with regard to location and condition. The owner has maintained it as described and was very helpful through the whole process from beginning to end. All my questions and concerns were answered. It was perfect for me and, if anyone were to visit the area, I recommend it very highly. There are so many things to do and see in the area. I visited the Midway, Safari Animal Park, the beaches and state parks, Point Loma, Tijuana, Julian for the apple pie, Temecula for the wines, Little Italy, Coronado, and Gas Lamp Quarters for many fine meals. The Wave for breakfast and the Thai restaurants in Imperial Beach had great food. The Stardust donut shop produces wonderful donuts as long as you can figure out their operating hours and get there before they sell out. The weather can't be beat, but the prices are pretty high. But it all made for a great visit.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.
Owner response: I will have to try out that stardust donut shop! I have not been there yet! We have new sand on our beach now, they re-did the whole beach and it is spectacular, I think, comparable to Coronado... but, I am biased, since I LOVE my Imperial Beach!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful review, so glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to have you back!! Patti Usler, owner

Imperial Beach is a very low key place with a great beach. Close to San Diego. There is a bike path along the shore to Coronado. And the 1 bedroom condo is in a very convenient location to it all. It is exactly as described in the listing, very comfortable, the owner is very responsive and easy to work with. I was very happy about this rental experience and can wholeheartedly recommend it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Imperial Beach is very low key, one of the reasons we chose it, it is not your touristy, party crowd at all, more family oriented! BUT, very near all the other attractions that San Diego is so well known for. Thank you so much for the wonderful review!!

The listing description and accompanying photos are a very accurate representation of what you get. The condo was clean, well maintained, and decor was up to date. Patti was very helpful and only a phone call away. We would recommend this property to anyone. We enjoyed walking on the beach and biking up the Strand. We didn't eat out at any places in IB as they never seemed to have any customers. But San Diego has lots of choices. We recommend whale watching, Balboa Park, Torrey Pines State Park, Mission Beach Park, all the beaches, the Outlet Mall near the border, and downtown SD. We hope to return next Jan.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This sun filled, spacious condo was just perfect for my husband and I to stay in for the week while our son graduated from MCRD in San Diego. The well equipped kitchen has plenty of open counter space for prepping and cooking meals. Small essentials that were available, like spices and condiments made the task easier. There was a toaster oven, coffee maker, and an espresso machine. I slept soundly snuggled in the luxurious linens after a full day exploring the pier, shops and beautiful well groomed beach within easy walking distance. There was a television in the bedroom as well as the living room, a nice library of movies to watch as well as books to read. The dining room table sat four, could accommodate six, but was used for romantic dinners for two with a view of the ocean down the street. We loved the high countertop in the bathroom as well as the ultra soft Ralph Lauren towels. The washer/dryer combo saved time and money by not having to use a laundry mat. The beach is beautiful and well maintained. The pier area has shops and restaurants and Friday night is the farmer’s market with more than just food for sale. There is a park and play ground for children also. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we were too busy to use the new fire-pit by the patio set, but maybe we will on our next visit. I was so comfortable, I felt like home had moved to the beach. If you are looking for authentic San Diego culture, you won’t find a more welcoming place at a better price!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: I could not have written a better review myself! Thank you so much! We try very hard to have the place just as WE ourselves would like it if we were on vacation , with all the finest linens and towels, clean and luxurious. We do have it homey, because we spend time there ourselves, it is filled with books and movies, and stuff to keep you busy if you decide to stay in instead of heading out to any of the many restaurants or other places and activities in San Diego....

About the owner: I live here when it is not rented, so it has everything you would need to stay here a long time. This is my home of choice, I absolutely LOVE it! When not here, I live out in Palm Desert where there is excellant hiking and biking as well, also golfing!!
Why the Owner Chose Imperial Beach:
I personally love this beach. It is a quiet residential beach town, dog friendly, and yet near to all of San Diego's wonderful attractions such as Sea World, Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, etc. Lots of shopping as well. Great location! None of the loud, tourist town stuff!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
I enjoy my beach walks, and , in the summer, laying out on the beach and enjoying a good book. Great surfing beach as well. We bike the estuary and all of the beautiful bike paths that lead from I.B. to Coronado, where you can take your bike on the ferry over to San Diego Embarkadero for very cheap!
