Quechee house description

The moment you pull into the driveway and open your car door, the scent of the pine and the fresh mountain air begins to relax you. Nestled in a fragrant pine and hardwood forest, this house sits at the edge of the village of Quechee. With its large windows and open floor plan, the house is cozy yet bright and cheerful. Nearby, you'll enjoy all Vermont has to offer including winter and summer sports, the restaurants of 'gourmet alley', antiquing, the Vermont raptor center, Long Trail Brewery, Simon Pierce glassworks, Quechee gorge, and much more. At the end of the day, curl up in front of a roaring fire with a good book and let your cares melt away. If you're a skier, you are 35 minutes to Killington, 15 to Suicide Six, and 25 to Ascutney Mountain ski areas.

Though it seems you are miles away from it all, there are several restaurant and antiquing options within a 10-15 minute walk from the house. In the morning, you may want to stroll down to the village to the Trap Door bakehouse and Cafe (at the corner of Quechee/Hartland road and US Route 4 where EVERYTHING is good. Simon Pearce is a good option for lunch or dinner. To get there, walk down Waterman hill from the Trap Door, across the covered bridge, and its on the left.

As a guest, you also have access to the Quechee club dining facilities and other activities and ameneties on a fee basis. We are happy to share the fee schedule with you for the health club, swimming pool, etc.

I am currently out of the country on a work assignment, so please call the number on the right and ask for Mike Paino, my property manager.

              Manager info

              Year Purchased: 2001

About: My family has been in Vermont for more than 200 years, so I definitely feel a sense of attachment to this place. I grew up about an hour from Quechee and I still have family in the area.

              Why Quechee:
While working in New York, I purchased this home as a weekend retreat. It put me near skiing and other outdoor activities which I love, plus provided some much needed peace and quiet. Now that I am working outside of the U.S., I have decided to offer the house for rent to help defray some of the costs while I'm away. I can answer email inquiries, but phone inquiries should go to Mike Paino at the number at the right.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
The loudest sound you'll hear in winter is the wind in the tree tops. In the summer, a bumble bee. And at night, the stars are so bright. If you're a foodie, there are tons of excellent restaurants nearby with amazing locally produced food. The Quechee hot air balloon festival each Fall is a great local event. There are brochures for many of the are attractions at the house, so get out there and enjoy it all. Ive tried to equip the house with everything you will need while you are there. So much to say about this place - I hope you enjoy your visit!
