The Webster Cottage on Quarry Hill has been a beloved destination for 3 generations. Its peaceful, private setting at the end of a small road, coupled with a spectacular view of Muscongus Sound make it a wonderful place to relax and enjoy life. Its spacious kitchen and living room provide a cosy and comfortable gathering place for family and friends. There are books, games, puzzles, and cards aplenty, as well as kitchen supplies to accommodate large parties and dinners.
The cottage's most delightful feature is its granite terrace which looks out over the Sound. Many people have spent their entire stay sitting on deck chairs, watching the lobstermen and the sailboats go by.
The house sits on a very large piece of land stretching down to the water's edge and about 500 feet across. Plenty of areas to explore, the occasional rabbit or deer sighting, and tide pools and rock clambering down by the water. At the front of the house is a lawn where kids can play - there's room for a small croquet game, badminton or sprinkler.
The cottage is within walking distance of 'downtown' Round Pond, where one can shop at the quaint Granite Hall store, eat at the Anchor Inn, or order a few lobsters from the two lobster companies in the harbor, sit out on the pier and enjoy the view.
As soon as you pull up by the house, see the view and smell the air, you know you are in a good place.

This was a lovely house in a beautiful setting. The view was priceless. We enjoyed kayaking on the ocean. It was a nice walk into town. Good beaches and restaurants near by. The kitchen is weak-that's why I gave it four starts. But not a problem for a vacation cabin.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: The Webster Cottage is owned by a family partnership of 5 cousins, of which I am the eldest. I live in Berkeley, CA with my husband and 9-yr-old child.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
I have been coming to Round Pond almost every summer for 50 years; and my daughter has come every year of her life. It was passed down from a family friend to my grandmother and then to us. I and my siblings find it a relaxing, beautiful place to be. I spend most of my time reading on the terrace. Kids like to explore the surrounding woods and the house itself, play games, climb rocks by the water. A trip to the Granite Hall candy and ice cream counter is required, as is a visit to the Anchor Inn, Pemaquid Lighthouse and Pemaquid Beach Park.
