  time in Duck in homy enviroment was realxing and peaceful.Walking distance to the beach allowed me to enjoy ocean and woderful swimmingpool gave me additional fun in water.During cloudy days tennis court was place to be and my friends enjoyed wind surfing durin windy days.Home was always place to come back and feel safe and relaxed .Kitchen offerded beautifull dishes and I had fun cooking there every day.Little store located less than a mile from home always had fresh bread and tasty home made pies.Sunsets were amazing and we were able to abmire them in the comfort of our patio.I wish I can spend more time in that location and I definitely will come back next year!

  This home is not your typical beach McMansion. It truly feels like a home away from home. What it lacks in certain luxery upgrades that you might find at some beach rentals, it MORE than makes up for in it's charm, views of the sound and sunset, and affordability. The home is decorated with taste - you'll not find typical pastel or nautical overkill as you often see in beach properties. Open floor plan and high ceilings in the dining/living/sunroom areas allows for wonderful "family time". Large back deck is fantastic. The neighborhood pool (a vert short walk across the street) is far superior to the typical tiny private personal pools attached to many individual homes. The owners are an absolute pleasure to deal with, and very accommodating and flexible. We highly recommend!

  The Croatoan was the most restful and relaxing place I've ever been. The house was perfect. The views were breath taking. I loved waking up every morning and the first thing I saw was the beautiful sound water views. The sunsets were so beautiful. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding on the sound. This home is in the perfect location for enjoying the beach, pool, sound and the Town of Duck. The amenities were great. I hope one day we'll make the trip again. Would most definitely go again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

  If your Family searches for comfort, luxury, quiet, waterfront views with the picturesque sunsets…….. choose four bedroom “CROATOAN” house at the sound front in heart of Duck NC. (It belongs to the community “Ships Watch” ). We have had outstanding experience at the beginning of July 2012! The house has all conveniences of the family home, you need to take only your sunblock and enjoy! Five years ago we spent our vacations there… and “CROATOAN” become our rental in every summer from that time on! Grandparents stayed in nice, cool bedroom with independent full size bathroom in an isolated part of the house. That permit them to take a nap (if they wish so) in the middle of the day after soaking in the whirlpool and swim at the community pool. Children with their friends occupied two separate bedrooms with two twin beds each and shared full bathroom. Four teenagers did not disturb anybody with noise, watching TV or playing computer games. They were kayaking and surfing on the sound water with parents being able to watch over from the spacious porch. Parents, in the comfortable king size bedroom with private bath, have had possibility to rest or participate in family activities. Walk distance to the restaurant on the water, gourmet “Tom’s” famous shop and several boutiques gave us choice not to cook everyday dinners, but enjoy the stroll among the water and to eat outside. In the living room equipped with large screen TV we spent the evenings watching movies from the big and diversified house collection. The Duck ocean side at the walk distance (one can use car to drive two minutes to the beach side and not to carry beach chairs and other “stuff”) ……..is a world famous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Weather was outstanding! It is homey, luxurious place guaranteeing vacation fun, rest and privacy and we are planning to be there next year also! “CROATOAN” was and will be our choice! Thank you!   What a wonderful home and destination. Everything you could want was provided. The house was both beautifully decorated, and pleasingly comfortable. The very uncrowded beach was just minutes away with plenty of parking and wonderful restaurants and shopping close by. Have not had such a trouble free relaxing time in a very long time and recommend it enthusiastically.

  Our stay in this house was amazing- we enjoyed grilling in the backyard, watching sunsets right on the water from the deck of the house, and watching movies from the large collection we found at the house. As movie enthusiasts, we really loved the big screen HD TV! The fact that the house is only a mile away from the beach was great- we were able to walk over, and the neighborhood's access to the beach had a nice patio to sit and watch the sunrises at. The small town of duck was also walking distance, with a nice little grocery store (Tommy's Market) only a few blocks away. The master bedroom is amazing, with an excellent view of the sound right from the windows. We look forward to returning next spring!

  This was the best vacation place that I have ever stayed. The location of the property to the local ammentities was perfect but yet you have all the privacy that you need. The back deck overlooking the sound was just beautiful. The owners were very responsive and helpful to any question that we had. You couldn't ask for a better place to relax and enjoy!

  We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful house. The location is perfect as it is just a short walk to the beach or into town but still enjoys plenty of privacy. The house is immaculate and the owners were extremely receptive to our needs. It was almost like staying with family! The house has plenty of room, a great common area and the view from the deck is incredible! We certainly recommend it for any occasion. You can't go wrong with this house!

  This home was perfect for us during our stay in Duck this year. We're a family of four with two young children and we stayed here with another family with one small child. The home is one level which made it very safe for the kids and easy for us to be together. It is beautifully decorated but very comfortable at the same time. We spent the days enjoying the pool and playing at the beach, both of which are just a short walk away from the house. The house had umbrellas, boogie-boards, plenty of sand toys, and a pack-and-play/crib. This was a huge plus as we could not carry all that gear from Colorado. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the large porch overlooking the sound and spent nights gazing the star studded night sky. It was great to have our meals on the screened porch that holds a large family table. It made the clean-up quick and easy and we were able to enjoy the fresh sea breeze during mealtimes. This home simply exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. We'll be back again next year!

  It was our second vacation in Croatoan. This time we traveled with 6 adults and 3 small children ages 1.5 to 3.5. The house was perfect for everyone! It met all of our needs. The size, the layout, the endowment plus tasteful decorations and the Sound front location made this a wonderful stay. The one level layout kept us all together but provided privacy when needed. We enjoyed our meals on the screened porch, dining room or the deck with amazing views and most amazing sunsets over the bay. The travel to the private sea side beach takes 3 minutes by car or about 10 minutes walk. We saw dolphins off the beach every day. House is equipped with beach umbrellas and beach chairs and well stocked with beautiful dishes, utensils, etc . Beds are very comfy. The rec center across the street with the pool, Jacuzzi and tennis court was a great addition. Some of us were windsurfing on the bay with the rest of the family watching and cheering from the deck. It was great to keep the windsurfing equipment rigged and ready at all times. The house and Duck made this one of the best big family vacations we have ever taken! Thank you!
