Welcome to Belmont Treetops - your perfect getaway in the lush beauty of the Green Mountains. Although we are located in a classic quaint Vermont village, we are only minutes away from all the activities that make Vermont wonderful - Swimming, kayaking, hiking, biking, summer concerts, great theater, and restaurants.
And, of course in winter: skiing, skating, and snowshoeing.

This new large studio loft is only four years old and is ideal for a ski vacation, romantic getaway, summer holiday, or fall foliage tour. The loft has open space, high ceilings, glass, and is furnished with antiques and cozy furniture. The best part - you feel like you are living in a treehouse as you look out over the treetops to the mountains. We're family friendly but we've also been told that Belmont Treetops is a wonderfully romantic place to stay. Writers and those seeking quiet away from their busy lives have found this to be a place they love coming back to year after year.

The partitioned sleeping area has a queen bed and is surrounded by partial walls and etched glass for privacy. A pullout couch has a full bed. There is a fully-equipped kitchen including dishwasher and microwave and stocked with all the pots, pans, and cooking utensils you will need. All linens are provided. There is also Wifi and an IPOD doc in the studio. And our guests always enjoy the homemade treats and cheese and crackers we leave for them upon their arrival!

SPRING/SUMMER/FALL: We are located in the heart of the Green Mountains on nine acres of wooded land and open fields. Views of the mountains are outside your window. Hikes and miles of trails for snowshoeing/x-country skiing are right behind the house. Easy access to beautiful dirt lanes for biking and hiking. Swimming, kayaking, fishing, golf, tennis are less than 15 minutes away. For those seeking cultural activities, the acclaimed Weston Playhouse (Christopher Lloyd played was in DEATH OF A SALESMAN in the summer of 2010) is only ten minutes away and a concert can be found almost every day of the week.

You are an easy 1.5 mile scenic walk on a tree-lined country dirt road to the charming Belmont Village, store, and Star Lake. You can start your day with a walk to the store and pick up your morning coffee and newspaper. There is also an old-fashioned library, with a wide selection of books, and a local museum in town.

If you don't want to eat at home using the fully equipped kitchen, there are restaurants as close as ten minutes away. Also nearby is the famous Vermont Country Store in Weston where you will discover hard-to-find items and an impossible to resist selection of candies, cheeses, jams, and other delicious food items.

WINTER: We are near many ski areas: Okemo, near Ludlow, less than 15 minutes; Bromley, 30 minutes, Killington 40 minutes. You can also enjoy skating on beautiful Star Lake 2 miles away. More than 25 acres of snowshoe and cross-country trails or sledding, outside your front door!

******In winter, four wheel or all wheel drive strongly recommended********

SPECIAL AMENITIES: In addition to all your linens, we also provide many of your essentials including paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, soap, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer, foil, plastic wrap, garbage bags, sugar, flour, etc. We also have puzzles, games, and lots of books and magazines in the loft.

LOCAL INFORMATION: We have extensive information on local attractions, restaurants, places to shop, and local skiing, hiking, swimming, biking information.

We were happy to discover the Belmont loft after exploring various parts of Vermont over the past few years. What we love about the loft is the peace of being in the woods while just a short drive from fabulous restaurants (be sure to try the Downtown Grocery) and skiing (Okemo is our favorite)! With a full kitchen, an extremely comfortable sitting area and an eclectic music collection, an evening in at the loft is also a great option and is as relaxing as it comes. We have stayed at the loft twice, and can assure you that the description and photos of the loft perfectly reflect what you can expect. Without question, the owners take great pride in making sure that their guests will enjoy their stay. . . the loft is immaculate and tastefully decorated, and the sweet treats that you will find on the counter upon arrival are irresistible! If you are hoping to escape from the chaos of everyday life for a few days while enjoying the comforts of home, without a doubt the loft will fully meet your expectations!

I just returned from my 4th consecutive summer visit to the loft, which I consider an idyllic, peaceful retreat. The owners and guests keep the loft and the grounds in impeccable form; there is no wear and tear in the last four years. Rather, the property is more beautiful each year as the owners tend the property with loving care. The loft has been comfortable whether I am there alone, with a friend or with family. It feels spacious because it is so open inside and because there are full windows surrounding nearly the whole loft. The owners are more than accommodating regarding the loft and they are very informed about the various activities in the area. As a summer visitor, the location is fantastic as it is quite easy to take day trips to many regions of the state. I highly recommend this vacation rental with only one caveat: there better be availability each summer when I want to go there.

My husband and I went skiing at Okemo and were looking for a smaller place to rent, because most accommodations in the area were much larger than we needed (condos that sleep 8, for instance). This lovely studio apartment with a beautiful view was perfect. It took us 10-15 minutes to drive to the mountain each day. The owners were wonderful and very helpful when we ran into some car issues. My only caution is the steep driveway: if your car does not have 4-wheel drive, speak to the owners in advance about getting permission to park across the street on the neighbor's flatter lot; our car could not make it up the hill. Otherwise, it was the ideal place and we would certainly rent there again.

The accommodations at this loft was wonderful! Everything was clean and well-kept. We had delicious treats upon arrival and cozied in under extra blankets and warm comforters when needed. The snow on the trees was absolutely stunning and we really enjoyed the snowshoeing. The hot water took a bit to warm up in the shower, but eventually got to a steamy temperature after a few minutes of running the water. Keeping the house at a nice cool temperature allowed for amazing sleep and to snuggle up under the covers. Janet and Paul were lovely and really made us feel welcomed! I can see spending a long weekend, going skiing again at Okemo (15 min away) or hiking the sister peaks in the summer. I would absolutely recommend this location to friends and would love to return!

                              Why the Owner Chose Belmont:
We had a second home in Belmont (Mount Holly), Vermont for more than 30 years. We lived in San Francisco for 15 years but spent all of our winter and summer vacations here. When we moved back to the East Coast, we decided to make Vermont our home because of the beauty, wide variety of activities in the area, and because Mount Holly is a wonderful, friendly, and welcoming community.

The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
The endless variety of activities in the area always keep us busy. In the summer, the three mile round-trip walk to the local country store is how we start every day. The summer is loaded with things to do: there is our own local music series in the center of town, great local theater and concerts, and for the sports enthusiast, there are not enough hours in the day for all the activities. In the fall, Belmont has its own Columbus Day celebration with a real apple press, a photo contest, and many vendors selling local products. In the winter, Mount Holly is known as the snow belt - we almost always have beautiful snow even when others do not. There isn't a time of year that isn't perfect - even mud season because you can smell the earth begin to thaw, see flowers begin to peak out above the last remnants of snow, and watch the trees begin to bud. It is a magical time.
