Beautiful, private outdoor enthusiasts or family getaway in Jamaica, VT. Nestled on 2 acres and bordering Ball Mountain State Park and the West River. This 4 bedroom, 3 full bath Vermont dream home has all the modern conveniences. It is equipped with a cozy fireplace, plenty of wood and mountain views. The open floor plan lends itself to entertaining, big family meals and bbqs or game time. The modern kitchen has a wide range stove, stainless appliances, plenty of space for helpers and two dishwashers for easy clean-up. The dining room can accommodate 12 comfortably. A wrap around couch in the main living room is a great place to cuddle up and enjoy a movie in front of the fire, a game of Wii with the kids or a movie and wine and cheese with friends. The back deck provides views of the mountain, a designer bbq grill and new deck furniture for 8 people.
The house is a short ride to Stratton mountain for skiing, 4 short miles to the access road. It is centrally located for skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking and a ton of other outdoor activities. In fact, there's an amazing waterfall hike 20 minutes walk off the side of the property along the west river trail. This house is also close to many fantastic restaurants, Manchester shopping, skiing, hiking, golfing and spas. Seasonal activities include fishing, kayaking, canoeing, golfing, mountain/road biking, leaf peeping, snowmobiling, area fairs and festivals. We are close to several cute Vermont country towns, including Londonderry, Jamaica, Newfane, Grafton and Weston.
The house is located on two acres and since it borders the state park, it is extremely private. If you are looking for relaxation from a hectic lifestyle or a big backyard for fresh area, campfires and the soothing sounds of indigenous birds, this is your place. We stayed at this house for a mini weekend vacation and we had an excellent time! The owner was very pleasant to deal with and was quick and prompt with any questions and/or concerns we had. The house is very well kept and stocked with everything you need from cooking utensils to linens to towels. There was more than enough room for everyone in our party and the deck was great for eating meals and just hanging out. The country store is a short drive away from the house and has almost anything you need to make a nice meal at home and their baked goods are amazing! We also spent the day at Memorial Park which is also very close to the house for a day of swimming and relaxing at the "watering hole". I definitely recommend this house and would stay there again in the future!Recommended for: Families with young children.

This is the perfect rental for a weekend or week in the Stratton area. The house is very comfortable and well equiped and was perfect for the two families that spent Presidents Day weekend there. We will definitely be going back again.Recommended for: Families with young children.

Why the Owner Chose Jamaica:
This is an excellent year round location and only 3 1/2 to 4 hours from Manhattan. Jamaica is strategically located to Stratton, Bromley and Magic for skiing. It is also 35 minutes from Okemo and 30 minutes from Mount Snow. We have access to all other winter sports within minutes, including ice skating, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. We are close to Manchester for shopping, world class restaurants and cultural events. We are also close to several bustling and charming Vermont towns, filled with local artisans, potters, specialty products and eateries. During the other seasons, we can enjoy plenty of outdoor sports, including, horseback riding, fishing, biking, golfing, etc. A wonderful activity on a summer day is a quick hike to Hamilton Falls which is one of the tallest waterfalls in Vermont and a refreshing swimming hole and picnic area. Photos are a must!
