Located at Posto 6, this large two bedroom apartment is in the most desirable neighborhood of Copacabana. Beautiful views of Copacabana beach and Pao de Açucar - on New Year's Eve it is the ideal place to watch the amazing firework display over Copacabana beach - in the comfort of your own apartment!
Recently remodeled with new plumbing and electrical throughout. Enjoying a total area of 130 square meters, or 1,390 square feet, this well-appointed apartment features a master bedroom with a pillow-top queen size bed and a large adjoining bathroom. The second bedroom also has a pillow-top double bed and ample closet space. A large bathroom across the hallway services the second bedroom and guests. Both bathrooms have bright, full-sized walk-in showers and strong water pressure.
For those who enjoy cooking, this apartment features a large modern kitchen with a gas stove/oven and all necessary cookware and dining ware. A clothes washer and maid's bathroom are located in service area near the kitchen.
The apartment is ideal for four people, and can accommodate five people with the full-size sofa bed. WiFi access is complimentary throughout the apartment. Other entertainment includes a 1080p flat screen HDTV and a DVD/home stereo system.
With only two apartments per elevator, and a 24 hour doorman it is very private and secure. Conveniently, a taxi stand is just outside in front of the building and with the recently completed Cantagalo Metro station just a five minute walk away, you'll have the entire city of Rio at your convenience.
Posto 6 is the preferred location in Copacabana for locals and experienced travelers alike, with easy access to the best of Rio's beaches. Just cross the street and you're at Copacabana beach. Ipanema beach is a seven minute walk to the other (west) end of Rua Joaquim Nabuco. Arpoador point, where Ipanema and Copacabana beach join (and a great place to watch the sunset), is just a three minute walk.
Aside from the beaches, there are many nearby activities to enjoy. Next door is a large shopping galeria, with coffee shops, currency exchange, tour agencies, fine jewelers, and art galleries. Across the street is the Zona Sul supermarket, where you will find all the local foods as well as many imported goods.
Around the corner, on the way to Arpoador, is Galeria River where one can rent or buy bikes, surfboards and beach attire, or just have a beer and observe the never-ending flow of people coming to and from the beach. Nearby is Adega do Caesar, a favorite Italian restaurant of the locals. The bar at Caesar is indoor/outdoor and people gather there on Sundays to enjoy the football matches or just get together to enjoy an ice cold chopp (draft beer).
We particularly enjoy visiting the fish market across the street on Copacabana beach. At least once a week we go there for fresh shucked oysters. Though it's not a restaurant they will happily shuck the oysters for you as you stand, slurping them down. They'll even serve them with a lime (be sure to leave a small tip - it goes a long way). And yes, you can even bring your own beer!
Also not to be missed each Sunday morning is the feira (farmers market) on Rua Rainha Elizabeth, which is one street north of Joaquim Nabuco, offering the freshest fruits and vegetables, cheese, meats, fish and of course, pastel com caldo de cana (deep-fried savory pastries of cheese or ground beef with fresh crushed sugar-cane juice), which is a favorite of the locals at the feiras. .
