Arguably no better house in Nosara Playa Guiones.

We are a family of four and stayed here for 3 glorious weeks in June 2012. We didn't have a car so wanted a nice, roomy house that was walking distance to the beach, town and a mini-market. This fit the bit and then some. We'd stroll down the gravel road just outside the house in bare feet and be on the beach in a few minutes - given the 200m building distance restriction I'm not sure you can have a new home any closer to the beach. Mini-market and a 4 good restaurants all within 5 minutes walk. Guiones main street was about 10 minutes walk. The place is nestled within the Villa Tortuga grounds, which was a nice addition - there is a DVD and surfboard rental store, shared pool and BBQ facilities, regular maid and groundskeeping service and a general feeling of safety and community. The house itself is stunning. Tastefully decorated and beautifully built - clearly no expense spared. Bedrooms are downstairs, are cooler with each having it's own adjustable AC. The beds were large and very comfortable, as were the pillows, something most places overlook. Showers were great and we never ran out of hot water. A brand new washer and dryer made laundry easy. They even provided detergent. Upstairs is where you spend all your time. Surrounded by windows, the kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, all the dishes, cookware and utensils you'll need, comfortable lounge area with flat screen TV with DVD and sat TV. We found the sat reception iffy at times but could be due to the rain (we were there in rainy season). The outdoor bathroom and porch area were the highlights for sure -- outdoor dining under covered porch with fans, lounger hammock , Weber BBQ....we actually found it hard to leave most days. The outdoor shower and toilet on the top floor are fantastic. The place felt very secure, with decorative security bars on the downstairs windows, locks, motion sensor alarms, two safes - probably overkill but we felt more secure as a result. There were ants and some mosquitos but we were there in the rainy season (which wasn't all that rainy by the way -- rains for a few hours every few days but mostly warm and sunny - hardly affected our stay - and far fewer people to compete with in the surf). We stayed here on the tail end of our round the world trip. Having stayed in countless places, we can honestly say this was one of the nicest. I would highly recommend any family or group to stay here. It is worth every penny.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
