  We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay! The house was very homey and comfortable, yet elegant too. Tons of room inside the house. The outside furniture, deck area and pool was the perfect combination of comfortable & roomy, especially since we spent almost all of our time outside. Tom was a huge help for setting up excursions and giving a tour of the area. Our guys had a contest every evening of who took the best sunset photos! Was a wonderful place and would definitely come back to stay.

  This is the most spectacular place. It was perfect for our family vacation. Six of us,my husband and our adult children. Incredible views from the deck and pool. Surrounded by lots of beautiful birds and the perfect place to hang after the beach with margaritas at the pool. Tom Barron, the house manager, was great and extremely helpful especially when we had banking trouble and a broken car. The house is very comfortable and beautifully decorated.

  We had 9 people staying, including 4 children. We were very comfortable and we all had a great time. Fun at the beach, river rafting, zip lining, horseback riding, ocean fishing.... we did it all and still had time to enjoy the pool. Tom, the manager, was very helpful in arranging our side trips, and Bruni, the housekeeper, kept everything spotless. Such a treat for us.

  My wife, three kids (ages 7, 11,13) and I stayed at Casa del Toro for five nights in June. Costa Rica was unanimously the family's all-time favorite vacation (we also went to Arenal). The unit itself was new, extremely well-appointed, and private. The views didn't disappoint--you can see them in the listing, but what we especially liked compared to other villas we researched, besides the fact that the villa was so new, was the lights of Quepos at night (with a distant view of night-time soccer games in town). The mosaic-tiled pool was immaculate, and it was big enough for my three kids to burn off some energy. It really was a luxurious villa--every little detail taken care of, like free local and U.S. phone calls. We've rented many villas over the years, but I've never experienced a property manager such as Tom. He answered all my questions thoroughly and promptly when I was trying to narrow down which villa to rent. He's an American ex-pat who has lived in Costa Rica for a long time so there are no language or cultural issues. His local knowledge is fantastic. There are the obvious tours he can set you up with, but his real value is with the tougher things, like picking the right fishing guide, finding less touristy things to do, or knowing which restaurants were offering live music on a given night. For example, the guide he set us up with for our half day in-shore fishing trip was fantastic--we talked to some people on different boats that day and we were the only boat to catch anything (my son caught a 20 lb. snapper that we grilled on the villa's grill, then made ceviche with the rest). Another family highlight was the storefront cevicheria in town that Tom turned us on to where my kids watched the friendly proprietor make homemade plantain chips to go with the excellent fish. Overall, I'd recommend staying here without reservation.

  Me, my wife, and our two teenage kids stayed here for 6 fabulous days. The house exceeded our expectations in every way. It was clean, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything we needed. The maid came every day and cleaned everything. She even washed the dishes and did our laundry! The pictures and descriptions in the listing are accurate but do not fully portray the luxury of the home. The pool was crystal clear. The outdoor seating/entertaining area is huge and the furniture is very comfortable. I took several naps out there and my wife read about 6 books during our stay. The views of the Pacific Ocean, the town of Quepos, and the surrounding forests and mountains were awe inspiring. Although we were there during the rainy season, we had plenty of sunshine. It did rain almost every day, but only for short periods, and it did not interfere with our relaxation or fun at all. We were treated to beautiful sunset views every evening, and lounging around the pool watching the sky turn red, orange, purple, and gold was a major highlight of our entire trip. There are lots of activities to do in Quepos/Manuel Antonio area. The area is fairly touristy, but it is filled with quaint family-owned restaurants and businesses as opposed to the typical high-rise eye-sores that choke the coastlines of Florida. All the beaches in Costa Rica are publicly owned and freely accessible. Many vendors wander along the beaches selling drinks, food, snow cones, souvenirs, etc., but they are all friendly and not pushy at all. We did a mangrove boat tour which was beautiful. The guide was very informative and spotted a lot of wildlife that I would have never seen on my own. A family monkeys nearly crawled on the boat with us! We also did a hike through the Manuel Antonio National Park that was simply gorgeous. Tom, the house manager was EXTREMELY helpful in arranging tours for us and recommending restaurants and various shops. He picked us up at the airport, drove us to the beach and generally provided exceptional service throughout our stay. he even had a giant platter of tropical fruit and locally grown coffee waiting for us! I am not sure if we will ever get to return to Costa Rica, but I hope we do. And if we do, we will not want to stay anywhere except Casa Del Toro.

  Great place and beautiful view! This is exactly what we were looking for. House has EVERYTHING you possible need for a great vacation and super quiet. Tom and his wife were great hosts. I totally recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away. We even saw a sloth one morning while we were eating breakfast. The only bad thing about this trip was we didnt stay longer. We will be back for sure. Thanks Tom!

  6 of us, all adults, stayed comfortably for 6 nights at Casa del Toro and had an amazing time. It was in the perfect location between the town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park, high up on the hill with spectacular ocean views especially at sunset. We couldn't have been happier with the modern and comfortable accommodations, the fabulous pool and of course, Tom, the property manager. He was incredibly helpful, took away the stress of having to book various activities and he even drove us to the airport in Quepos at the end of our stay. Rosa, the housekeeper, came daily and did an amazing job. The only possible criticism that I can find is that the wi-fi is on the slower side, but everything else exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this house and plan on returning in the future. Beware, though, the driveway is SUPER steep and often tours/vans will not go all the way up to pick up or drop off leaving you with a pretty hefty climb. Saved us on gym time! Overall, we loved our time in Costa Rica and Casa del Toro!

  When booking a vacation rental home one must make a leap of faith that the reviews and property descriptions are accurate. After spending six nights at Casa del Toro and reading the reviews again after coming home, we are so glad we made that leap. The reviews were spot on! Upon walking in the door our family had a collective reaction of "Wow!" The house is beautiful and the views of ocean, town and mountains are part of priceless family memories of our time spent in Costa Rica. The property manager, Tom, was always available to answer questions, make suggestions and hook us up with the activities our family wanted to do. Rosa, the housekeeper, takes pride in making the home a perfect sanctuary for its guests. There are numerous wonderful restaurants in town, but we found ourselves wanting to enjoy many of our dinners on the beautiful veranda overlooking the lights of the town below and serenaded by the endearing sounds of the little resident geckos. We enjoyed many adventure activities as well as the national park of Manuel Antonio during our time in Costa Rica, but our memories will revolve around our stay together at Casa del Toro. These are reviews you can trust. Glad we did!

  I love this place! The house manager or as we called him...the Mayor of Manuel Antonio...was one of the best parts of our trip. He and his wife were so friendly and helpful to us during our stay. We felt like we had a friend there to guide us to the best places to eat, visit, etc. The house was great, and exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much Tom and a special thanks to Rosa for doing our laundry and keeping the house so clean.
