I've stayed a couple of times at this wonderful, well-located cozy cottage, most recently for 10 days beginning late February. The pictures tell the story; it's easy to feel at home here. I drive to Galveston from Dallas periodically to spend time on the beach with my dog - and would stay here every time if it was available. Owners are wonderful and available if you need them. The cottage is clean and well furnished with a cute open kitchen and dining area. Master is off the living room with pocket doors; 2nd floor bedroom up sleeps 4 and is opens to the stairs. The furnishings are personable and the kitchen is well laid out with everything you need to prepare and serve any meal. TV with directTV and DVD player with plenty of movies; no wifi. Washer/dryer is convenient and there are ample linens, including beach towels. The generous kitchen table is well suited for work or dining. We've grilled out back. The back porch and fenced yard are perfect for the dog to explore unattended. An outdoor shower is ideal for rinsing off the sand after a trip to the beach. The location is great. I enjoyed taking in the neighborhood from the front porch bench or from the back porch chairs at the end of the day. The neighborhood is comfortable and makes for good walking; the seawall beach is about 4 blocks further down 14th. Sacred Heart Church and the Bishop's Palace are a couple of blocks up the other way. I love the East End because its relaxed and close both to town and to the beach. This place is simply the best.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We are originally from Galveston and were in town looking for a beach house to purchase. This lovely beach cottage was the perfect reminder as to why we want to come "back home". The house was clean and updated with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners were a joy to deal with and made us feel right at home. This is the pefect island getaway. I will highly recommend the Cottage on 14th to anyone looking for an island rental.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We live in Houston and stayed at this cozy getaway which is about 60 miles away from the city. It was a great location between the beach and the shopping areas. My husband is a chef and enjoyed cooking the seafood we bought by the harbor in their well stocked kitchen. A wonderful place to unwind!Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a wonderful, cozy, cottage that suited my teenaged son, my dog and myself quite nicely. Our week long stay was so relaxed it was almost like being at home. A short walk to, and down the beach every morning made for a happy pup. The well decorated, stocked house=a happy mom and the "cool factor" of the second floor bedroom (as well as flat screen tv, dvd player and dish network) happy kid. The back deck was a lovely place for an eveningdrink while grilling dinner (would be great for a romantic evening meal al fresco too). I can't say enough good things about the owners hospitality and how welcome they made the three of us feel. I will be back again and again!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

My husband and I brought our two young boys (2 and 9 months) to Galveston for our very first family vacation. I could not have asked for a better place to stay. The cottage was very clean and very beautifully renovated. We all felt very at home and comfortable. My husband and I really enjoyed morning cups of coffee on the back deck, followed by a short walk to the beach with the boys. Mosquito Cafe is just one of the wonderful places to eat and is right down the street. Our hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. We are hoping to stay again next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

This cozy cottage is the perfect place to "get away from it all". Whether you want to stroll to the beach, snuggle up on the couch to read a classic or take in the sunset on the back porch while enjoying a glass (or two) of wine, the choice is yours. All the comforts of home are here: a fully equipped kitchen, comfy furnishings, relaxing beds, washer/dryer, TV, beach towels, and more. Conveniently located to all Galveston has to offer. The hosts, Tony & Ronald, were a delight to work with and made my stay truly memorable. I highly recommend the Cottage on 14th and look forward to returning again, soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

Love, love, love this property! I stayed here with some friends during the Galveston Bike around the Bay weekend and had a blast. The furnishings are eclectic--some antiques with unique pieces such as a beadboard kitchen table. It is spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The queen bed upstairs is one wonderfully comfortable. The kitchen has everything, including a pizza cutter! There is also coffee with nice sized mugs for sitting out on the back porch in the morning. It is also well-stocked with towels. The owner met us at the cottage and is quite a character. He knows every fun thing to do on the island and is a most gracious host. We especially appreciated his recommendations of getting scones at the Sunrise Bakery, fried pickles at The Spot and lunch at the Mosquito Cafe. He made us feel like such welcomed guests! I have recommended this property to friends and family. I will definitely stay there again any time I am on the island!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
