Erie house description
Ladies, enjoy the wineries and shopping. Men, head for the creeks where the steelhead will give you great fishing stories and photos.
I am now also booking winter holidays and summer 2015. My availability calendars are updated daily.
See my Facebook page -- Clement's Lake Erie Cottages -- to get the inside scoop on our beautiful area, local events, things to do, restaurants, wineries, see more photos and get notifications of cancellations or last minute availability and special rates. I am happy to answer your questions whether you stay at my homes, or not. Please LIKE our Facebook page to get ideas for how to enjoy your visit. And send me your ideas and photos as well.
Your family and friends will love this clean, bright, stylish and roomy vacation home just 5 homes away from Lake Erie on a quiet dirt road. We are in Lake Erie Wine Country, with eleven wineries in our town alone and 24 total among neighboring towns. This home is clean and fully modern to make your stay comfortable: city water, forced air heating and central air conditioning, all new furniture and appliances including dishwasher, washer and dryer. We provide all of your bedding and towels. We clean after you leave. Generously furnished and supplied.
We LOVE ladies group getaways - ladies love us too! Whether you're planning a bachelorette getaway, meet-up with college or high school pals, or ladies escape, we make your planning easy. Our home is in close proximity to Bella Day Spa, horse riding and many wineries. We provide a stylish home and furnishings. Ask me for my suggested itinerary for your ladies weekend.
Renovated in 2010, this home still looks, feels and works like new! Guests love our stylish decor and our artwork which supports local artists. We support our growing artist community, featuring the works of favorite local artists Tajana Roehl and Tamara Maas in our homes.
Larger groups please see my other listing #324283. We have 2 homes on the same street, only 3 homes apart... a great way to vacation for larger family or friend groups. See our other listing for more photos. Notice the recency and frequency of my reviews for both homes.

We offer year round comfort. Central air-conditioning will cool you on warm summer nights. In cooler seasons, this fully insulated home has a new furnace to keep you warm. Small yard includes firepit and lawn chairs for campfire circle and marshmallows. The beach, just five homes away, allows for more area to play, to treasure hunt (we have beach glass!), swim or build a small campfire.
Located in the small town of North East, PA, east of Erie, we're in a small, beautiful, historically cottage neighborhood with a private beach for residents and guests only. Over the years, many of the vintage cottages have been renovated into modern beach homes.
Beach access is easy -- no cliffs, no bluffs, no stairs -- just a short walk 5 homes down our quiet road. Here is a natural Lake Erie shoreline with stones and sand where you can swim, hunt for beach glass, skip stones, sunbathe, build driftwood camp fires, roast marshmallows and hot dogs over a fire, make s'mores, walk along the shore or enjoy a glass of wine while watching our fabulous sunsets. Each night is a different show as the sun 'falls' into the lake. Bring your camera and prepare to be inspired.
We recommend beach stone painting and driftwood painting as a fun activity for all ages. You provide the artists. The beach provides the stones!
Bring your bikes... with only 12 homes on our dead-end street there is very little car traffic between the house and the beach. Older kids can ride around the neighborhood, and you can be more adventurous if you'd like. North East is gorgeous for biking and running with miles of vineyards and orchards.
Launch your kayak, paddleboard or sailboard right from the beach. Larger boats and jet skis can be launched from the North East Marina, just 1.5 miles east. Daily and temporary docking available at the North East Marina for a reasonable price.
In the heart of Pennsylvania's wine country, you'll see miles of grape vineyards and orchards. Pick-ur-own or buy freshly-picked produce at one of numerous roadside farmstands. Watch wine being made and experience wine tastings as close as 0.5 mile away. Ten local wineries thrive in North East alone. If you are lucky enough to visit during grape harvest in the fall, you'll experience the aroma of ripened grapes on the vine as the aroma fills the town.
Fishermen love our close proximity to excellent walleye, perch, lake trout, bass and steelhead fishing -- this is steelhead alley. The North East Marina is two miles east. We are situated 2 miles between 16 and 20 Mile Creeks. Looking for a Charter? Don't pick blindly. When you stay at any of my homes (owned or managed), and whether you boat fish or creek fish, ask me to put you in touch with my brothers who fish on a pro team locally and offer charters. I can also recommend an awesome fishing guide. Ask your fishing questions here.
Town is 3 miles and offers a grocery store, CVS drug store, art galleries, children's toy store, Boston Bean Cafe, pizza shops, casual restaurants, Bella Day Spa, the new Grape Country Marketplace for local products and artwork, and a new and nicer restaurant, The Cork 1794. Don't miss 'Thursdays in the Park' in downtown North East during the summer -- free events each week feature a farmer's market and children's entertainment every Thursday during the summer months. Check the North East Chamber of Commerce website for year round events. Summer events include weekly live Music in the Vineyards, Picnic in the Park and Farmer's Markets, and local festivals with the granddaddy of them all -- The North East Firemen's Cherry Festival in July. Fall features harvest and wine festivals including WineFest (last weekend of September) and Harvest Wine Fests (the first two weekends of November). Lake Erie Wine Country events occur throughout the year. Surprise your Valentine with the Wine & Chocolate Event in February.
Some guests may prefer to visit on a quieter weekend when the winemakers have more time to spend with each guest. Try winter or spring for a more personal experience. Wineries are open YEAR ROUND, with the exception of major holidays when some wineries close.
Are you a shopper? Many people visit Erie to shop with no sales tax on clothing. How about a holiday shopping weekend here!
Or, create your own event. Wine tasting tours for ladies or couples groups are a fun getaway. Add a spa visit while you're here. Visit the Presque Isle Downs & Casino for nightlife. Ask me for my thoughts on your getaway plan.

About the owner: I am a stay-at-home soccer/dance/baseball mom and enjoy managing our rental properties as it gives me the chance to meet new people and use my marketing background. I am originally from Erie, PA but have lived all over the country for 20 years. When our kids became school-aged, we moved back to Erie where they could have a place to call home and have close relationships with extended family. I am also a Nittany Lion, Xavier Musketeer and Procter & Gamble alum. My husband Duane is a UB Chemist and Chemical Engineer who was transferred into Brand Marketing at Procter & Gamble. He now specializes in Marketing Research/Analytics with expertise in Business Intelligence and Customer Satisfaction. With our cottage rentals it is very important to us to delight our guests with a clean, well-stocked, comfortably furnished home.
Why the Owner Chose Erie:
As a child, my favorite memories were of visiting this special beach community. My dad's best friend owned this little slice of heaven where kids could be kids and adults were always in a good mood as they enjoyed good company. My parents eventually bought the home next door to their friends. Years later, my husband and I bought the house on the opposite side so that we could provide happy traditions and memories for our kids. I have been coming to this place for 40+ years!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I wanted my kids to grow up ejoying the same memories I had... swimming at the beach, treasure hunting for beach glass, outdoor bbqs, gathering driftwood for bonfires complete with s'mores and hot dogs, searching for and carving that perfect roasting stick, catching minnows and crayfish in the creek, walking barefoot on dirt roads to the beach, skipping stones, floating on rafts, painting beach stones, and building teepees from fallen branches. As an adult, I appreciate getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and entertaining friends and their kids just like I remember from those days as a child.
