THE AREA
Located in the small town of North East, PA, east of Erie, we're in a small, beautiful, historically cottage neighborhood with a private beach for residents and guests only. Over the years, many of the little cottages have been renovated into modern beach homes.

Beach access is easy -- no cliffs, no stairs -- just a short walk five homes down our quiet road. Here is a natural Lake Erie shoreline with stones and sand where you can swim, hunt for beach glass, skip stones, sunbathe, build driftwood bonfires, roast marshmallows and hot dogs over a fire, make s'mores, walk along the shore or enjoy a glass of wine while watching our fabulous sunsets. Each night is a different show as the sun 'falls' into the lake. Bring your camera and prepare to be inspired because we really do have the most beautiful sunsets I've seen in my years of travel all over the country.

We recommend beach stone painting as a fun activity for all ages. You provide the artists and imagination. The beach has plenty of stones!

Bring your bikes... with only 12 homes on our dead-end street there is very little car traffic between the house and the beach. Older kids can ride around the neighborhood, and you can be more adventurous if you'd like. North East is gorgeous for biking and running with miles of vineyards and farmland.

Launch your kayak, paddleboard or sailboard right from the beach. Larger boats and jet skis can be launched from the North East Marina, just one mile east. Daily and temporary docking available at the Marina for a reasonable price.

In the heart of Pennsylvania's wine country, you'll see miles of grape vineyards and orchards. Pick-ur-own opportunities are offered throughout the growing season starting with strawberry season in June. Buy freshly-picked produce at one of numerous roadside farmstands. Watch wine being made and experience wine tastings as close as 0.5 mile away. Nine local wineries thrive in North East alone. If you are lucky enough to visit during grape harvest in the fall, you'll experience the aroma of ripened grapes on the vine as the aroma fills the town.

Fishermen love our close proximity to excellent walleye, perch, lake trout, bass and steelhead fishing -- this is steelhead alley. The North East Marina is one mile east. 16 and 20 mile creeks are two miles. Looking for a Charter? Don't pick blindly. Ask me.

Town is 3 miles and offers a grocery store, CVS drug store, art galleries, children's toy store, Boston Bean Cafe, pizza shops, casual restaurants, Bella Day Spa and the new Grape Country Marketplace for local products and artwork, and the new Rizzo's on the Park casual Italian eatery. Don't miss 'Thursdays in the Park' in downtown North East during the summer -- free events each week feature a farmer's market and children's entertainment Thursdays during the summer months. Check the North East Chamber of Commerce website for year round events. Summer events include weekly live Music in the Vineyards, weekly outdoor Movies in the Meadow and local festivals with the granddaddy of them all -- The North East Firemen's Cherry Festival in July. Fall features harvest and wine festivals. Lake Erie Wine Trail events occur throughout the year.

Some guests may prefer to visit when the events are not occurring. Then, the vintners have more time to spend with each guest for a more personal experience.

Erie, 20-30 minutes, has Presque Isle Downs & Casino, Erie Zoo, Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park, ExpERIEnce Children's Museum, Presque Isle State Park, Tom Ridge Environmental Center and Waldameer Water & Amusement Park. Many people visit Erie to shop with no sales tax on clothing. Catch a concert, lecture or dance or music at Chautauqua Institution in NY State. Do you love Lucy? Jamestown, NY (40 miles), the birthplace of Lucille Ball, is home to the Lucy-Desi Museum. Niagara Falls (2 hr drive) is a day trip - beautiful in the winter too, illuminated at night.

Or, create your own event. Wine tasting tours for ladies or couples groups are a fun getaway. Visit the Presque Isle Downs & Casino for nightlife.

My calendar is up-to-date. Call/email with questions. I am happy to help with ideas, planning, suggestions. Interested in reserving? Just send an email with the dates you would like and I will send an agreement.

What's new in North East? I am very excited about two new additions to our Victorian downtown shopping district. Grape Country Marketplace has opened and features the new Rizzo's on the Park for dining and The Marketplace featuring locally made products including Welch's grape products, the work of numerous artists, baskets, jewelry, soap products AND wine -- including tastings. Another new business is artist Tajana Roehl's Photographic Gallery featuring local and regional photographic images. Take home postcards, notecards or a beautiful piece of art to remember your visit. If you haven't visited in awhile, the Boston Bean Cafe is THE place for your morning coffee stop and the new wineries, South Shore Wine Co and Courtyard Winery are both very unique wineries to visit.

We had the best time ever!!! The house was absolutely amazing!!! It was beautiful, clean, spacious and very relaxing. We enjoyed the short walk to the lake and the beautiful view that awaited us there. The entire area was just amazing. We had a great time doing some steelhead fishing and caught a couple to brag about. I would also recommend going out on the boat with the guys on the "Big Cat." They were a lot of fun and we caught some awesome fish!!! Would definitely love to come back up and visit again and can't think of a better place to stay than here. Everything was so simple from the first phone calls making reservations. Lynne made us feel so comfortable and we were really able to enjoy ourselves. Thanks for all the help and we hope to make it back soon.

Other than abominable weather (the late winter of 2013!), we had a lovely time at the house. Premium cable, very well-appointed, nice, new decor, and only a few houses from the beach. We could see the lake from the window! I'd definitely recommend coming here.

We had a great time! Everything was brand new, and very clean. The owner invited us to make ourselves at home and we really felt like we were. I'd walk along the beach everyday, it was empty and so peaceful and I found a whole bag of beach glass as a momento of our trip to P.A. Thanks Again

What a great experience we had at this cottage! It was very clean and welcoming. The fire pit in the yard was great for evening campfires and roasting marshmallows :). The location is great if you aren't interested in the craziness of town, however it's only a five minute drive if you need anything. A 30 minute drive to waldemeer and presquile a d so easy to get to. What a great experience we had and hope to come back again next year!!!

This is our second time staying at this rental. We had wonderful experiences both times. Everyone in the community is super friendly. Our kids enjoyed bike riding and having more freedom. The sunsets were beautiful. The cottage was spacious, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We wanted to stay all summer!

The activities available around the cottage are wonderful for all ages. The kids enjoyed playing on the beach and the adults enjoyed the wineries that were only a stones throw away from the cottage. Lynne is very welcoming and made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. We would love to return to the cottage to enjoy another family vacation soon!

The cottage was just as described and better. It was very cute and very clean. It was ready for our children with a pack n play and children's books and games. The kitchen was well equipped and big. We cook almost all our meals and it was so easy. The bedrooms were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and extra linens. The home was also close to the beach where we could build bonfires on the cold evenings and the kids skipped rocks. Overall it was such a great experience and very comfortable.

Our family rented the Just Breezy cottage. It is so cute. Lynne set up a Christmas tree that matched the theme of the house. There was plenty of room for our 3 small families with the loft for the kids to play in and the downstairs living area for the grownups. Every thing we needed was there. My daughter-in-law said it was the perfect Christmas! High praise for any mother-in-law to hear! It was my wish to have my sons and their famlies under one roof for Christmas! This beach style cottage was a different flavor for Christmas! The colors are bright and beachy, which my grandchildren loved! The lake effect snow which started unexpectedly thrilled my granddaughter from Ohio! The cottage is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Every thing you might need is there! It was very clean with lots of fluffy towels! The beach is in site from the loft and the back yard. It would be a great summer rental too! Thanks Lynne for making this a special and perfect Christmas! -Sandy and Steve

Our family rented the Just Breezy cottage for our Christmas get together. The house is nice jnside. Lynne put up a cute tree that fit the cottage theme. With the loft for the grandchildren to play in and the living area downstairs for the adults there was plenty of room. The unplanned lake effect snow made it a white Christmas! My granddaughter from Ohio loved that! Thank you Lynne for making our get together special! Sandy and Steve

I would highly recommend this cottage. I recently stayed there with 5 other girlfriends. We were fortunate as the Wine Festival was on at the time we stayed so we enjoyed some local wine as well. The cottage is extremely well equipped and clean. The decorating is so cute. It would be great for a couple of families or for a group of friends.

About the owner: I am a stay-at-home soccer/dance/baseball mom and enjoy managing our rental properties as it gives me the chance to meet new people and use my marketing background. I am originally from Erie, PA but have lived all over the country for 20 years. When our kids became school-aged, we moved back to Erie where they could have a place to call home and have close relationships with extended family. I am also a Nittany Lion, Xavier Musketeer and Procter & Gamble alum. My husband Duane is a UB Chemist and Chemical Engineer who was transferred into Brand Marketing at Procter & Gamble. He now specializes in Marketing Research/Analytics with expertise in Business Intelligence and Customer Satisfaction. With our cottage rentals it is very important to us to delight our guests with a clean, well-stocked, comfortably furnished home.

                          Why the Owner Chose Erie:
As a child, my favorite memories were of visiting this special beach community. My dad's best friend owned this little slice of heaven where kids could be kids and adults were always in a good mood as they enjoyed good company. My parents eventually bought the home next door to their friends. Years later, my husband and I bought the house on the opposite side so that we could provide happy traditions and memories for our kids. I have been coming to this place for 40+ years!

The Unique Benefits at this House:
I wanted my kids to grow up ejoying the same memories I had... swimming at the beach, treasure hunting for beach glass, outdoor bbqs, gathering driftwood for bonfires complete with s'mores and hot dogs, searching for and carving that perfect roasting stick, catching minnows and crayfish in the creek, walking barefoot on dirt roads to the beach, skipping stones, floating on rafts, painting beach stones, and building teepees from fallen branches. As an adult, I appreciate getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and entertaining friends and their kids just like I remember from those days as a child.
