  This quality space is finished with attention to detail . . . all the comforts of home in a compact ground level apartment. The designer and owner, Dai, provided the space with a light & airy feel, a punch of color & whimsy in the decorating. The view of the city skyline with the close-in beauty of the garden & seating areas add to the ambience 24/7. This area is quiet but close to great shopping & cafes just blocks away. Hats off to to the owners for creating this little gem and without a doubt we will return to enjoy again!

  Nick and I, and our friend enjoyed immensely staying at Dai's apartment. You could not ask for a more friendly host or a nicer view of San Fran! The garden in the back was like being in a spa. The fire-pit and waterfall is a nice touch. We would like to come again. The apartment made our stay all the more wonderful.

  The apartment is gorgeous, everything is studied in detail. A spacious kitchen with a direct view of the bay and the ocean. Outside there is a beautiful garden, where you can have breakfast or lunch breathing the fresh air of the bay. The neighborhood is very quiet and the bus stop to the center or to the harbor, is near the house. The owners are very nice and polite and very helpful. In short, if you change from San Francisco and want to be comfortable and luxury book here.

  I travelled to San Francisco for 5 nights with my girlfriend, and rather stay in a mid-range hotel for a hefty sum, we decided to go with an apartment......it turned out to be a great decision. The flat is really nice. I would say perfect for couples visiting San Francisco. It's very clean, modern appearance and access to an amazing garden with views of the City. Also, Dai was easily contactable if there was anything that we needed during our visit. This was our first visit to San Francisco, and Dai left a very useful welcome booklet which gave invaluable information such as all the local bus routes and public transport routes. He also left us a nice welcome bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. The location is in Potrero Hill which is a nice quiet residential location but with the advantage of being only a 10 minute bus drive on the number 19 to the city centre. There's also a selection of really nice local restaurants and bars about 5 minutes walk round the corner and a local shop for groceries 30 seconds walk across the road. Before we arrived, Dai sent very clear check-in instructions which made everything very seamless with no hassle.......exactly what you want when on holiday. I usually have a rule of not staying in the same place twice and trying something new on each trip, but if we ever visit San Francisco again, I would stay again at this apartment as it made our visit extremely pleasurable. Thanks Dai, much appreciated. On a separate note, if you are going to San Francisco for the first time I have a couple of recommendations…….(1) If you plan on visiting Alcatraz, book in advance before you go as the trips fill up quite quickly. (2) Check out Bourbon & Branch Speak Easy. They recreate the original Speak Easy prohibition pub serving cocktails and whiskey by candlelight. If you go to their website and register, they send you a password which you have to give when you go to get in to their unmarked door! Really cool.

  The location of this rental was the main reason my husband and I rented, but we quickly discovered it had so much more to offer. The location was perfect for us, only four (steep) blocks from my son's place and I could walk there every morning. The view from the apt. was amazing, made breakfast at the table very enjoyable. And the tranquility garden was a plus! The apartment looked brand new, everything clean and neat. The owner was readily available should you need her. We'll definitely be back!

  After reading other reviews this appeared to be the perfect place for our stay in San Francisco and it didnt disappoint. It was very modern, clean and new. The garden was our favourite feature with hummingbirds and gas fire pit, hot coals for a perfect way to sit and relax with a glass of wine at the end of the days sightseeing. As with most properties this apartment was up a bank but if you dont mind a walk there is a good supermarket approx 4 blocks down with buses running past if needed. Dai the owner was on hand for any enquires if needed. I would definately recommend this property and would stay there again if we were to go back to San Francisco again. Many thanks for a great holiday.

  The Garden Apartment was just what we needed in the Potrero Hill area of San Francisco. The apartment was a perfect size for us, was very clean, comfortable, attractive and with all the amenities listed (and that we needed)! Because it was unseasonably warm in mid January, I even used the deck for part of an afternoon to read. The owner was very responsive. It is a great location -an easy walk to a number of wonderful restaurants, a delightful independent bookstore, a lovely wine store, and around the corner from a newly revamped Public library and two small but good grocery stores. Our morning routine was to go around the corner to the Thinker Cafe for a coffee and simple breakfast; I would order while my husband would go to the corner market for a New York Times. Our son lives in Potrero Hill and we can't wait to return to the Garden apartment. We would definitely recommend it to friends and relatives. We recommend Plow restaurant for breakfast (try to go during the week - it is very !! popular) Chez Maman - a delightful hole- in- the wall- French bistro, Papito's - a very good Mexican, fresh ingredients with a French touch and very reasonable prices, restaurant. We would also recommend Ruby Wine's wine tastings on Friday evenings and Farley's coffees.

  My husband and I spent 5 days in the garden apartment while visiting San Francisco. It was a great location with easy Muni (bus) access to downtown. There actually are two different routes that are close(1-2 blocks) from the apartment. We had been on a road trip so the fact that we could park our car in front of the apartment and never move it was great. It was easier to get downtown by bus. You really get a San Francisco experience here--lots of hills and a beautiful view of downtown. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed using the well stocked kitchen. The owners welcomed us with a lovely bottle of wine and fresh flowers--so nice! The patio and garden were beautiful - a surprise lush garden in the city---AND it had a lime tree growing so if you needed a lime (for gin and tonic???) you could pick a fresh one! There is a neighborhood grocery store two blocks away(easy walk) as well as a Whole Foods about six blocks(HILLS!) and a Safeway about a mile away. The use of a washer and dryer was a big help. We did not use the hot tub(too busy) but I noticed the owners left robes and slippers if you did choose to use it. My only suggestion would be for the owners to provide a blow dryer as most of us do not travel with one anymore. A lovely stay. Would recommend the apartment to friends!!!

  My wife, year and half old son, and I stayed at the garden apartment for a week long vacation in San Francisco. The space was adequate, and the use of a full kitchen was a big help to us over the course of the week. The neighborhood is great and the street parking was easy, and there was a playground right around the block that my son loved. Overall great stay!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.
