About the owner: My childhood summers were spent in the Rocky Mountains where I grew to love nature, wildlife, outdoor activities and camping. These activities bonded my family and I adopted the mountain lifestyle. As a professional, a get-away spot to reflect and renew was an ideal way to balance work and play. I bought, moved, and renovated a cabin from the YMCA of the Rockies, placed it on 1.25 acres of mountain forest, and now have a quaint, secluded spot in which to breathe and live life fully. Activities are abundant and renew my body and spirit. I love watching the wildlife which live and sing all around me. A wood fire or campfire warms me in a chill, the porch deck and pines cool me during a summer's eve. Larger communities of Laramie and Cheyenne are within a 2-3 hour drive so my place is an easy drive on a Friday afternoon. I have always admired the cowboy rugged way of life and our nearby communities feature rodeos, poetry readings, melodramas, parades, chariot racing, horseman competitions, ranger walks and talks. I've helped with cattle drives, sung in community concerts, floated the river, fished the streams, hunted elk, skiied the mountain trails, camped among the wildlife, reveled in the beauty around me, and now, want to share some of my wonder. It all keeps me young in body and spirit. I have been truly blessed and believe those that visit will leave with the same renewal.
Why the Owner Chose Saratoga: One cannot surpass the beauty of the Snowy Range Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountain chain. Wyoming offers the pristine beauty from the advantage of more nature and wildlife, fewer people. My property sits within a small community, less than 200 people, yet is close to civilization. There are no crowds nor traffic jams. Stress melts away.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin: The best advantage of my surrounding area, the Snowy Range Mountains, is access to wildlife and nature with all the serenity that comes with a connection to the wilderness. It is an active way of life yet calms and connects to all within and around us. From the comfort of my home, I've watched fox scamper across the snow, moose munch on my willows, hummingbirds squabble for the feeder, deer quietly pick their way through the brush, squirrels steal the birdfeed, a small black bear run away up the hillside, and elk bellow their bugle. It is all free entertainment at my doorstep.
