We loved being able to take the kids and dog down to the river at anytime we wanted without having to drive anywhere. The kids found all types of different kinds of rocks and threw sticks for the dog, and we could relax and watch the eagles and take in the amazing view. Great cabin, perfect for us to hang out in and enjoy some family time - and great selection of games on hand too. Thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed four days and had a great time. The chalet is beautiful, roomy, clean and very homey. Jan was so helpful and answered our questions right away . We would highly recommended this chalet to anyone who wants to visit the area attractions. We really enjoyed seeing the elk up close too. So nice to be able to have our dog stay with us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This is a great house with all the amenities. It has easy access to the river which is very refreshing on a hot summer day. There are some very beautiful hiking trails nearby in Mt. Rainier National Park. This is a great place to stay.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children.

Mountain Mist was a beautiful chalet and convenient location to stay while visiting Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens. It is very comfortable, well stocked and nicely decorated. Our geriatric dog Jackson was welcome, which was a plus. Unfortunately the temperatures were in the mid-90's during our stay, but we were able to keep the interior temp around 80° by leaving the windows open at night and having the numerous ceiling fans and central fan running continuously (windows and drapes closed). Coming from the coast of WA, we definitely aren't used to the heat. We also brought a few fans with us that helped. AC would have made it perfect, but we stayed comfortable. The hot tub was wonderful. Jan is an outstanding, acommodating owner who makes sure that your stay is a comfortable and memorable one. Summer or winter, this is a wonderful vacation home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I stayed at Mountain Mist Chalet recently while attending my brother's wedding. The Chalet was great! The owner's attention to every single detail and beyond was so much appreciated. From the moment you arrive, books with the area attractions, state parks, maps, local menus, pre-packaged laundry soap for the washer/dryer and even fire-starter for the camp fire pit. We were very comfortable and felt completely at home. This is a lovely home that we would definately stay in again when in the area. Thanks Jan for sharing this with us!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

After staying at Lake Creek Cabin last year, I was excited to return this season to Mountain Mist Chalet, particularly after seeing it under construction in 2010. The beautiful modern design and comfortable living space make it extremely appealing, and as before, Jan thought of everything we could possibly need or want! There is a lovely open space out front just perfect for dining or relaxation. The trees provide a wonderfully natural privacy screen, and the shaved wood chips helped keep things tidy. The campfire area would have been great except there was a burn ban on. I absolutely love the location of this property. It's far enough away from Hwy 12 to provide utter peace and quiet yet close enough to remain convenient to public amenities with easy access to Mt. Rainier. The only problem I have is in trying to decide which cabin to come back to next year! Whether LLC or MMC, you won't be disappointed!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Our family (2 kids, 2 adults) stayed for a weekend and will definately be back! Kids stayed busy with the river, playing games from the cabin and were excited about the glo-sticks the owners left specifically for them. Having a fire pit (and fire starter) right outside was a great choice when we adults wanted to stay close and the hot tub was clean and relaxing. This was way better than a hotel, we would recommend it for anyone!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.
