  We have been going to PDT lake all our lives. This is the first time we've stayed somewhere other than our "regular" place. I must say, it was a good experience. We have two small children, my brother and sister-in-law and my parents all fit comfortably. It was small, but cozy, and the owners were very responsive to our needs. The kitchen had everything we really needed. Be advised that one bedroom is private and two are in a loft. Not a problem for us (but thought I'd mention for someone that requires more privacy). Lots of parking was nice as was the use of the dock. I would definitely stay again! PS - Nice and clean - great job cleaning ladies!

  We just returned from a great weekend here with 6 other friends and found the cabin to be quite accommodating. The cabin was charming and Janelle was very easy to work with, she happily allowed us and early check-in and also enthusiastically accepted my feedback regarding some very minor additions that would make the stay even better. While it’s true the cabin is not “lake front” it is on the lake, and once on the lake yourself you realize there has been no building done directly on the shore line, I was happy to accept a very short walk in return for the maintained natural beauty of the lake shore and rock bluffs. Cell phone service was spotty, but that was to be expected considering the rural location of the lake, some of us had service and others didn’t. Overall the cabin suited our needs perfectly, we truly got our bang for the buck, it’s an amazing value for the location and an easy weekend getaway on the water. I look forward to visiting again.

Thank you for the confirmation that we are "On the Lake" like I specify. I don't advertise lake front or lake view although there is a lakeview from the back upper deck in the winter, lol!   The house is not "on the lake," but is instead up a hill, and does not even have a view of the lake. There is a nice dock, but the owner waited until we'd been there for more than a day before telling us which one to use. No phone there, and our cells (Verizon and T-Mobile) did not work at all, so we felt insecure, could not have called 911. We left early because of being so vulnerable, and the owner will not refund even a night, says others' cells work. The lake had an outbreak of E-Coli while we were there, too, so all lake activities were cancelled. That is not the owners' fault, though, but be aware the area is not much without the lake. The A-frame home was nice, though, well appointed.

  Owner response: Our cabin is" On the Lake" in a lake subdivision w/3 roads & located on the second. It is a 2 minute walk down the hill to the water. Yes, you have to walk back up the hill to get home but there wouldn't be lakes without hills, only flooded homes. Our number is referenced on the dock. We have had guest in the past call from their cellls asking which one is ours without any issues. I received a call from guest stating their cells weren't working without any mention of difficulty locating our dock. My husband & I went to the cabin the same day guest advised me their cell service wasn't working. Together we stood in several different locations, called my husbands phone which I received connection every time. When I called guest phone it went straight to voice mail & the screen displayed "no network provider". I called Verizon to learn this would be displayed if there was a roaming block on service. No, the service isn't great but it works! Guest advised me they were leaving early because we didn't have a phone, asked for a refund & questioned why we didn't have a telephone or a manager's office that could be used in case of emergencies & mentioned they had elderly at home. I advised them we weren't a resort or hotel & didn't have a manager on duty but if I could re-rent the cabin I would give them a refund. I called 3 people who had inquired previously about the same week to learn they had already made alternative plans. There were Lucas Oil Speedway races both weekends of guest arrival & could've rented these days but not the day of their departure. I advised guest they spent less on 4 days with us than they would have spent on 2 days with any of the other vrbo locations near by & couldn't justify a refund. I was unaware of the E-Coli situation, thanked the guest for the information & called the core to learn that Hermitage beach on the opposite side of the lake from our cabin had been closed only up to the day arrival, (check in was at 4 pm). However, we have a beach much closer that didn't have any restrictions. Yes, "be aware there isn't much here without the lake", unless you like boating, water sports, speed boat races, dirt track races, fishing, hunting or just relaxing. f you're looking for a resort with a manager or office & a land line phone this isn't what you'll find at our cabin. I'm pleased to hear the guest found our cabin nice & well appointed. I'm sad they've ruined my 5 star reviews I've worked so hard for over their own cell plan!

  We had a group of adults looking to get away for the weekend to enjoy some sailing on Pomme De Terre Lake. This cabin worked out great for our group. Accommodations were clean and comfortable! Well decorated and well maintained. Janelle was great to work with on short notice and the weekend was enjoyed by all! :)

  We had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect. Cabin was great, clean, comfortable and close to everything we needed! Even our dog was happy! Walked every morning to the dock where our boat was, and spent the day on the water, and then grilled right there at the cabin on the patio. Perfect. Price is awesome for all you get! I would recommend this place to everyone! Oh, and the nearby convenience store was a life saver too. Thanks for a great week!

  My family of four spent a few nights here and a great time was had by all. great location and a particularly nice cabin home! We have only nice things to say.

  We are a family of 4 including 2 teenage boys. Plenty of room for everyone. The cabin is roomy, clean and fully functional. The lake access at the bottom of the hill was the best fishing spot. The guys caught our dinner. The neighborhood was very quiet. My only advice to a future guest would be to bring all of your provisions, as the closest bigger town is about a 30 minute drive. Springfield is about an hour away. Bass Pro Shop was a nice way to spend a couple of hours, and Lamberts Cafe in Ozark MO is a must. We loved it, and will definitely be back and will recommend it to our friends.

  My family just got back from a weekday stay at Pomme De Terre. This cabin had just recently gone through a remodel, which really made it look great! There was a nice sized room downstairs, and the loft was turned into two separate rooms. We had two kids, 1 and 3 year old with us and they had plenty of room to run around. The camp fire and grill worked out good. The lake is just a 2 min walk away. We didn't have a boat with us but that would be a must if we returned since there was a boat ramp just a few hundred yards away from the front door and it looked like a great area to fish. A few good playgrounds nearby. Very quite on the off season. An overall nice place to get away from the busyness of life. Hope to return again next year!
