This quiet cozy and comfortable Mtn home is in Frisco, CO, in the heart of Summit County. It's on 4 city lots on Fourth Ave (221 S) in the center core of town, 1.5 blks from Main St. The closest free Ski Shuttle stops are on Main/ 1st Ave and Main/ 6th Ave. It is a comfortable seven bedroom with four full baths and two half baths. It sleeps 23, but is just fine with one person in each room. It's warmly decorated in a mountain motif and mountain colors. There are breathtaking views of Mt Royal, the massive giant that's the westward backdrop of Frisco. Noted partially in the background in this photo. There are awesome N/S/E views as well. Sleeping Arrangements: The bedrooms are named after Colorado wildflowers from the days when it began as a Bed & Breakfast, by the owner's Mother. MarDei's, comes from her name, Deidre and her childhood friend Martha, whom began the B&B in 1985. It was run as such on our arrival in 1994. After ownership shifted in 1999, we changed it to a Retreat in 2000.
The following 3 bedrooms have private bathrooms: the upstairs large Master suite (Columbine, sleeps 5) has a King pillow top bed, Twin bed, and Dbl/Full innerspring futon couch and a full bath. There is a wood-burning fireplace, a 27" TV/DVD and a 19" TV. The bedroom on the main floor (Pearly Everlasting, sleeps 3), just off the kitchen, has a log bed with a Queen pillow top bed, Twin bed and a full bath. There is a TV/DVD and a private access to the back deck and the outdoor hot tub. Downstairs there is a two room suite (Larkspur, sleeps 5) that has a Queen bed and Twin bed in the bedroom, and a Dbl/Full innerspring futon couch in the TV room. A door separates these 2 rooms. The bedroom has a 19" TV and the TV room a 27". There is a 3/4 bath, just off of the TV room. There are four other bedrooms upstairs, on the south side of the house: two bedrooms (Blue Vetch & Chiming Bells, sleeps 3 each) have Dbl/Full beds, single futon chairs and a sink. Another bedroom (Indian Paintbrush, sleeps 2) and has two twin beds. The final bedroom (Yarrow, sleeps 2) has an elevated Dbl/Full log bed. These 2 rooms share a private sink area. These four rooms share a 3/4 bath and an addn water closet (toilet).
Floor Plan: The tiled entrance leads straight ahead into the tiled Dining room. There's a beautiful Mission dining room table that seats 10. The breakfast bar seats 4 and there's a game table in the Living room, seats 4. There's a small Banker's desk and wood-burning stove in the Dining room. The Living room is to the right of the main entrance. There's a double la-z-boy couch and another couch, plus loveseat, overstuffed chair/ ottoman, sm leather/ wood chair and a church pew. There's a 61" Sony HDTV, DVD, and a wood-burning stove (firewood is provided). There's a book Library and game selection. The sliding door accesses the large back redwood deck. The Dining room also has a main door access to the back deck; there is a stainless steel propane gas grill and a private top-of-the-line Dimension One hot tub. The full kitchen is tiled, fully stocked and equipped for large groups; restaurant size 2 burner Bunn coffee maker, Mr Coffee, coffee grinder, espresso machine, blender, food processor, electric griddle, crockpot and hand-mixer. The breakfast bar separates the Kitchen from the Dining room. There is a half bath next to this area. There is a High Efficiency frontloading full size washer/dryer and an additional dryer on the main floor. There is a large parking lot for the winter. There's unlimited property wraparound street parking in the summer. There is a shed for ski storage. During the summer there are 2 patio tables on the back deck (seats 4 & 6), plus assorted addn chairs. There are 2 picnic tables in the yard and lawn chairs. There are horseshoes and 2 childrens swings for your enjoyment. We encourage recycling, there's a Recycling enclosure. The bike path trailhead leading to 69 + miles of paved biking is just four blocks away. Walk to hiking trails, too. Whether your group is large or small, summer or winter, if your desire is "that mountain feel, mountain charm", MarDei's Retreat is for you.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
Frisco is in the center of 5 world class ski resorts and has a wonderful Nordic center. In the summer, this property is only one and half block to main street, and 5 blocks to the new Marina on Lake Dillon. Being in the center of the county, it is also the center of the over 60 miles of paved bike paths, and all the hiking tails.
The Unique Benefits at this House
If you wanted the, "Colorado Cabin in the woods" feel, you will enjoy this home. Cedar siding, large redwood deck with 6 person hot tub, and surrounded by mountains on all sides. Being only one and half blocks to main street all the restaurants, bars, and shopping is just a short walk away. The free bus stop is only about 4 blocks away. In the winter it leaves every 1/2 hour for the ski areas, and in the summer allows for bicycles to be transported.
Just 6 miles West on I-70. Some of the best skiing in the county.

We purchased this home from my family, in 1999, who had run it as a Bed and Breakfast since 1984. We continued to run it the same until 2000. We decided to rent the entire house, instead of room by room, as a Bed and Breakfast. My wife and I both left our Professional Careers; Mike in Financial Planning and Amy as a Registered Nurse. We raised our 3 children in the wonderful Mountain town of Frisco, and it was one of the best things we ever did.

I have stayed at the Retreat 5 times and with Mardeis another three. Everything was excellent. The locarion of the Retreat is ideal for skiing and Frisco is a lovely town with plenty of amenities. The photos were accurate as was the details of the house. I would not hesitate in recommending Mardeis to anyone. We travel from England every year to go skiing so it must be worthwhile.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This is a great place for a family get together, girls weekend..etc. We found ourselves in need of a place on short notice, contacted the owners and they were so amazing and accomodating. When we got to Mardeis Resort, we couldn't stop smiling. It's like a big cabin in the woods yet, just a block to downtown. LARGE kitchen and dining room. Huge living room, and I know they say 7 bedrooms..when we had got there we lost count! Each one is adorable and comfortable. There are at least 2 that are full family suites. We were so impressed. Yes, some of the furnishings are a little tired but, on the other hand, everything is very clean, and comfortable. A bit like going to your grandparents cabin. THis is a great place for summer or winter. Close to everything, but far enough away that you know you're on vacation. Nice deck and hot tub as well. This one is definitely worth a visit. You won't be disappointed. Take your bikes, ride to the marina, through downtown, or up to the new Frisco adventure park for great biking experiences for all levels. Kitchen is fully stocked with basics as well as about any kitchen appliance you can imagine. Great place. There were 6 of us and, we had so much room...it took us a while to find each other! Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

It's great for family reunions in the summer or multi-family ski trips in the winter. If you want 7 private rooms and that cozy mountain feel at an affordable price this is the Home for you.
