Birders Paradise. The horseshoe crab/red knot extravaganza takes place here in May. There are several National Wildlife Refuges within 40 minutes for extraordinary birding and wildlife. Cape Henlopen National Wildlife Refuge is a wonderful ocean beach. Well known Outlet shopping is nearby. Terrific restaurants in Lewes and Rehobath Beach within 30 minutes. Slaughter Beach retains the very quiet old fashioned beach experience.
Redknot Cottage was built in 1922 and completely updated in 2002. Amenities are quite modern yet retain the relaxed feel you may remember from your childhood. The cottage faces Delaware Bay with a private walkover the dunes. The back of the cottage (street side) faces Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. Come and see.
Keywords: 'Red Knot Cottage' is a perfect beach cottage with wonderful birding opportunities as well as excellent restaurants, casinos and shops nearby but not next door!

My wife and I and our dog spent Thanksgiving week at Red Knot Cottage. The cottage was very comfortable and well-appointed. It has anything you might need, and of course, is located right on Delaware Bay. We enjoy birding, and it's proximity to both Prime Hook and Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuges make it a wonderful base of operations for that hobby. Sharron was a wonderful host. We hope to return again in the future.Recommended for: Pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+.

This place was charming- much nicer than the photos show on the web site. Very clean and everything there for our use- umbrellas, chairs, childrens beach toys, well equipped kitchen and two of the bedrooms were much larger than we expected. I would suggest anyone coming bring water shoes, it is rocky and also bug repellent., Those are the only things we had to adjust to, buying water shoes and getting more insect repellent. My dog had a delightful time as did my children andgrandkids. We plan to return.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Our stay at Red Knot Cottage over Memorial Day week-end was delightful. At RKC we have found a lovely, comfortable house situated in a most serene location where we can enjoy nature and the shore uninterrupted by the hustle and bustle of modern-day life. We hope to return to this special place many times.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Hi! Just wanted to send a quick email to thank you and let you know that we had a terrific time. What a beautiful home! We loved the cottage and beach and feel like we made a fabulous discovery with this trip. The wildlife was amazing and the kids learned so much from all your books. They turned over horseshoe crabs every morning. Master bedroom view of the sunrise was my favorite. The kids squealed with delight when they discovered the "secret" bedroom on the porch. Thanks again and have a wonderful summer.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
