  This house is nice, but the description on homeaway.com is far from accurate. The "master suite" with the office is actually a lofted room. The large room with an office sounded attractive to us because I needed to have a quiet place to study. Because it is a large loft with a desk, it was very loud because it is open to the livingroom and kitchen areas. Also, the 4th bedroom has a separate entrance from the main house. Had we intended to use this for a child, this would've really been bad. The description of the bedrooms really should be changed on this site. Future renters should be aware that this is NOT a kid friendly house. The hot tub is not heated, and we couldn't find the beach towels that they said were provided. This house would be good for couples without kids. It is a beautiful house with a very contemporary design.

  Owner response: I'm so sorry you were dissappointed. I just called my property management company whom handled your rental. They are located on the Island not far from the house, they were never notified by you that the heat for the hot tub was not working. Their number is in the book of information left the house and they are the only contact for booking the rentals for this home. All you would need to do is contact them about any problems. Linens were provided, just not Beach Towels, the towels in the home are very nice and large and can be taken to the beach, but I did correct the listing to exclude beach towels. I also added in the listing that the master suite is a loft. The description of the room off the pool did indicate that it was a private entrance off the pool. For any future rentals, if there is a problem with anything, please contact the rental management company, that is what they are there for and they can address any concerns or problems you may have.

• Beautiful Beach House

  This is the most expensive beach house we have ever rented. It is beautiful and in a great location. However, the hot tub did not work properly. We arrived on a Thursday and reported the problem on Friday. Pool was not clean when we arrived either. Realty co. sent a man out on Fri and he said that he knew the hot tub did not heat and was waiting for the owner's approval to fix this. Realty co. said they did not know of any problem. He cleaned the pool even though he said he did not do the cleaning but did the maintanance only on the pool. On Monday, another guy showed up with the part to fix the pool. It worked and he left. We tried it and yes it works but only for about 1 minute then the heat cuts off. I was looking so forward to the hot tub. When I spend so much money I expect all the amenities to work especially a new house built in 2010. Kept calling the realty co. Feel like the communication between owner and realty was not good. We feel like we got the run around. Did not let it ruin my stay but am considering trying a different vacation next year.

  Owner response: I am so sorry to hear about the Hot tub problems during your stay. We never heard about any problems until last week, 9/16. So the story someone told you about waiting for the owners approval to fix it is false. We want everything fixed as soon as there is a problem. We are on our third pool company and are going to be searching for another one. We have found finding a good reliable pool service company is the most difficult problem associated with owning this home. Either they are not cleaning it properly or they only come to the island on certain days. As our home was built in 2010 we are new to the island and didn't realize the slim selection available in pool companies. We are also going to work on a better notification system where renters can contact us directly if they are not getting their problems resolved in a satisfactory manner.   Very nice house. Good location to beach. Only diappointing thing was pool had algae and could not get pool company to service.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

  Owner response: Hi Matt, I'm happy you liked our house, but was very upset to hear that the pool had algae. I contacted our rental management company. They said the pool company was contacted to correct the problem, and the pool is now clear. We have contacted our pool company also to insure that the problem does not occur again.
