Just returned from an amazing, wonderful week in this special home on Seneca Lake. From the minute I arrived and laid eyes on the view of Seneca Lake, the immaculate spacious grounds, and toured this immaculate, warm inviting home, I knew the week was going to be wonderful and I would not be disappointed. The owners have thought of every detail and amenity one might seek or need when renting their home. In addition they make an enjoyable, wonderful stay for renters their priority. The view of each sunrise was just incredible! We enjoyed this home to it fullest and in return have amazing, special family memories to last a lifetime. We will be returning for 2 weeks next year to add to those memories. Thank you Chris & Peter!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This is by far one of the nicest, cleanest and most confortable house we have rented. The view is breathtaking specially when the sun rises over Seneca Lake. We enjoyed the fire pit outside and the fireplace (real wood) inside on the colder nights. The only downside was having to leave.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at this property for a week in 8/12 with 2 adults and 2 kids, and will be back next August! It is a beautiful location, and the cottage itself is very clean, comfortable, spacious, and has everything you could possibly need. Our only issue with the cottage and grounds was our difficulty in trying to decide which of the numerous cozy spots to have our morning coffee! The large well maintained grounds were ideal for playing with the kids, and the views are spectacular. Also nice is the fact that the property is level and there are no steps to the dock, which is often an issue in the finger lakes. You would have a very difficult time finding a more beautiful rental property, with super nice owners I might add, anywhere in the region.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

This is the first time my husband and I have been to the Finger Lakes and how lucky we and another couple (good friends) were to find this gorgeous home. It had everything a person could need or want for the most beautiful and relaxing vacation ever. There was no rushing to go anywhere. Everyone slept as long as they wanted and the others who were up sat on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful lake or fished until the others woke then we'de all go out on the pontoon boat we rented and enjoyed the lake, sun and awesome scenery. We visited many wineries, gift shops, and resteraunts that served the best food anyone could ask for then when done it was back home, every night, to sit around the fire pit and talk about our day and laugh like crazy about old times and our friendship with the great friends we were with. We plan on visiting again and will not stay at any other home but this one.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

My husband and I have been coming to the Finger Lakes for 15 years, staying in different houses. This is the house we want to return to!! We travel with our dog, Lexi, so the dog friendly quality of this house was important. The house was very clean, neat, well organized and exceptionally well stocked. Everything they said was provided was actually there in sufficient supply. We liked the way the bedroom section of the house can be closed off with doors from the living area. The living room was spacious with comfortable furniture, decent lighting, and room to move around. The yard and outdoor space was even better than the pictures show. Unfortunately we only had two warm days during our week so we will just have to come back to enjoy the outside living spaces! Beds were comfortable, hot water was plentiful, neighborhood was quiet and peaceful (we were there in April). I felt safe in the dark at 5:30am walking the dog! We can't think of a single thing we needed which wasn't provided! Excellent, excellent house!! Sharon and Jeff (Mifflinburg, PA)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

We stayed here for the easter weekend in April 2012. The house was incredibly clean, cozy and comfortable. it was fully equipped with anything we needed. The weather was a bit chilly in April but the outdoor patio and firepit areas were too cute not to use. We lit a nice fire, and grilled all weekend as we enjoyed the fabulous view of the lake, wine in hand. The house is located next to some very nice wineries- Monello is our favorite. It's only a couple miles from the house and has some of the best reislings we've tasted. It's a must visit! It is also close to the town and the owner gave some great information on where to get groceries etc. We are already planning to return to the house and recommend anyone looking to rent, do so immediately! It's a great house in the middle of a great location. enjoy.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Very clean, had everything (and more) that was specified on the website, quick communication with the owner, spectacular view! We have just enjoyed a fantastic long weekend in this beautiful home...and a home it is. The owners have thought of everything to make us feel welcome and provide the finest of experiences. We, two couples, spent the weekend visiting the unexpectedly fine wineries of the Finger Lakes. This home was not only located right on Seneca Lake but within a very short driving distance for all the wineries. The home is large and beautifully furnished and we enjoyed every minute there. Thank you!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from a one week stay at this wonderful vacation home. This home is large, clean, comfortable and close to many area attractions. The yard provides a gazebo; pavilion; two grills; firepit and so much more. The owners have even provided outdoor sport equipment. There are many great restaurants and wineries in the area to visit. The owners, Chris and Peter, have provided a wonderful home away from home. And, our Lhasa Apso, was very happy too which is very important. We've booked for 2012.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Rarely does one find that pictures of a place are "true" to reality when they arrive at the actual location. However, I have to say that we were not disappointed in the cottage and grounds. We find that Homeaway attracts great properties. The toughest part of vacation was picking the spot for morning coffee, Reading and cocktails. Bad weather? Enjoy the covered areas. Lift your head in the A.M. the Sunrises over the lake... Wow The chef here enjoyed the outdoor kitchen areas and a nicely supplied kitchen. Wine! The best wine was found at the top of the hill. We came across a cheese trail, What Fun! Chris was very helpful in helping us with restaurants, However, we chose to eat in the whole week. We would rent again if we came back to the area.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at this lovely house for 6 nights. It felt like being "home." The owner has made this house so sweet, cozy and very clean, from top to bottom. This is so important in making a vacation really memorable. Each morning after breakfast we were out enjoying the area, then back 'home' in the evenings for dinner, relaxation, camp fires, walks on the quiet road. Absolutely lovely!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners.

My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary recently at this wonderfully comfortable house. Although the weather was chilly & rainy the indoor fireplace really made a beautiful backdrop for a romantic get-away. It was a treat to hibernate, cook great food, drink wine, watch movies & just be together. Chris really went out of her way to make sure every one of needs were met. The house was exceptionally clean & organized with a well equipped kitchen. We do hope to make plans for another stay..maybe we will get lucky & have some sun next time. Me, my husband, and our beautiful Golden Retriever recently spent a week here. The house has EVERYTHING you could need for a perfect vacation. It was absolutely spotless as was the property. It is such a warm and inviting home making it so easy to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery from inside the house as well as the outside. The owner was so helpful giving many great suggestions on what to do and where to go. We too tied up our rented pontoon boat right up to the private dock and enjoyed it for three days. There is nothing disappointing to this property! Everything is right there at your disposal and is extremely well-maintained. The location of this property is perfect. The pictures on line do no justice to just how beautiful this home is. We loved it so much, we have not only booked for next year but decided that two weeks were a must!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A few days prior to our arrival, the owner checked in w/ us by e-mail to see if we needed anything. She greeted us warmly as we arrived. The home was exceptionally cared for and CLEAN - so comfortable! We woke to the sunrise on the lake from our bedroom window and hurried out to watch from the dock. We walked a few yards to a friendly restaurant for a great breakfast. My husband and I as well as his brother and our sister-in-law just spent a week here. The owner provided everything we needed. The house was absolutely spotless as was the property. The caretaker immediately came over and introduced himself to us, and checked on whatever other needs might be required. We were able to tie up our rented pontoon boat right up to the private dock as well. Property, both house and lakeside, was extremely well-maintained as was the dock. We were so impressed with our vacation there that we immediately booked again for the same week in 2011. We (two couples) absolutely loved this rental property. The home is beautiful inside and out. The owner has stocked the home with everything that you need to ensure a great time. She is always eager to answer your questions. The locations is perfectly situated around most of our favorite wineries. The locals are so friendly. We all really enjoyed having our dinner in the screened in Gazebo looking out over the beautiful lake. The grounds are absolutely amazing. After a day of wine tastings, we relaxed on the beautiful outdoor furniture at the pavillion, while watching the activity on the lake. Even tried the hammock. Nice way to end the day Ahh, life is good!!! We will be back......Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Just spent another fantastic time at this home. The lake is so splendid. The family that owns this home cares deeply that you have a good time. We are now checking our calendar again to see when we can get ALL of us there. It is perfect for kids (in my opinion) I think ours will LOVE it. The amendities are all so excellent and the house still has EVERYTHING you need to enjoy your time away from home. This listing is almost NOT descriptive enough on all the wonderful things the home has. Just think...if you were going to bring the "bare essentials" what would it be...Well, this has everything AND the kitchen sink...nothing bare about it! I even spotted a kid gate in the garage with the kayaks, croquet, bocce, badmitton. I haven't seen a better lawn game lawn in years! I am recommending this property to my in laws for their anniversary. It is wonderfully located ON THE LAKE. The area is quiet. The road out front is mostly home to pedestrians. We went to the restaurant at Glenora, and then went across to Cayuga Lake this time as well. We enjoyed many of the wineries., We aren't wine experts, but enjoy many of the wineries that are here. My all time favorite is in walking distance from this house: FOUR CHIMNEY'S: First Organic Winery in America. I highly recommend the Golden Crown. Dreamy. We also went to Montasuma's Winery and Distillary. That was at the top of Cayuga and was a fun drive. The top of Seneca Lake is incredible....a park of stellar beauty and only 19 miles to the North. The Rainbow Restaurant is right next door and that is where I grabbed some EXCELLENT poached eggs and rye toast with my joe in the morning. It was good to get outta the house first thing in the morning and remind myself that I was ON THE WATER. Don't walk to reserve this place...RUN....No wait, let me get our weeks in first. ;o) The owners are amazing and I don't have a single complaint! We stayed at this home for the Pasta and Wine weekend. It was FANTASTIC to have a home away from home to come back too. We couldn't believe that there truly was EVERYTHING we could have needed right at our fingertips. Two couples were we..half a dozen children left at home. it was so much fun. We had a dd for each day of the Pasta and Wine. HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming on a weekend event. It was so inexpensive...25 dollars, 25 wineries with tastings and snack. Awesome. Go to this house! Go quick. It is fantastic. The lake is beautiful, even in January. So quiet and private this time of year. We enjoyed everything about it. We'll be back, hopefully with children in the summer.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here in October of 2009 for most of a week. Everything was perfect. Very clean and comfortable with all of the amenities including a very well equipped kitchen and a top-of-the-line gas grill. The LCD TV is HUGE and new. Property and neighborhood are lovely. Should be good year-round as it is well heated and has a fireplace. There's also extra heat in the bathroom. Chris, the owner, could not have been nicer or more helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. Everything was as advertised and the owners could not have been more helpful. The favorite thing for us was enjoying the view and sounds of nature from beneath the gazebo, the evenings at the firepit and the general beauty of nature in the region. We stayed a week in mid-August and had a great time. Property is across a small street without much traffic (mainly golf carts, walkers) from Seneca Lake. House is smaller than we've rented previously, but very comfortable and well maintained. Lakefront is level, large, and shallow- rare for Fingerlakes and perfectly suited for kayaks, rowboat (provided by owner), and our windsurfers. The owners were very friendly and responsive to our every need. Firepit and sitting area in large side yard are very pretty. Dock with benches a great spot for enjoying the lake. Best meals of the week were at Port's Cafe (towards Geneva) and the Moosewood restaurant on a day trip to Ithaca. Windmill craft and produce market outside of Penn Yan is fun on a Saturday. Groceries about 15 minutes away in Penn Yan or Geneva. Very relaxing week!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
