The Lake House
Private Resort
This four bedroom, three bath mountain-view home on a small acreage in
the middle of Radium Hot Springs, BC, is ideal for both summer and
winter vacations. The property has parking for several dozen cars, or
trucks with trailers. The three-level Lake House features forced air
central heating, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and additional
baseboard heating in the bedrooms and baths. The Master Room features a
queen-size bed, en suite bath, and balcony overlooking the ninth
fairway of the Springs Golf Club and the mountains beyond. The
Skylight Room features a large skylight over the queen bed so you can
drift off under the stars, a reading nook, and a single bed for a child or another guest. The Pine Room features a queen bed, plus it has a ladder leading to the
secret Cubby Room - a kind of treehouse bedroom inside the house that
sleeps two kids. The Pine and Skylight Rooms share a full bath with
tub. The Knotty Room on the lower level - built entirely of knotty
pine - features large windows, and an en suite bath with large shower.
The Rumpus Room on the lower level has a TV with full cable, exercise bike and rowing machine, and
sliding doors leading to the front lawn. The Kitchen is large, open
and bright with fridge, dishwasher, microwave, pantry and breakfast
bar. There's a small work area next to the kitchen where guests can
surf the web on the supplied computer with wi-fi, check out tourist information
books, or get a little office work done. The Living Room features a
large, stone 'heat-ilator' fireplace, vaulted ceilings, a large
skylight, a dining area for 8, and bright windows all around with heat
shades to fend off the summer sun if necessary. The large wooden
deck has a barbecue, a pass-through window to the kitchen and patio
furniture. Relax on the deck with a loved one and watch the sun set behind the mountains. Just off the end of the deck is the fire pit and a private
wood the size of 8 normal lots. Have a marshmallow roast, or sit quietly amid your own little forrest. The winter traveller will find
plenty of hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling tracks nearby,
the world-famous hot pool just up the hill, and the Panorama Ski
Resort a short drive away. The summer traveller will find himself
situated right between the ninth and tenth fairways of the world-class
Springs Golf Course, a two-minute walk from the clubhouse, restaurant
and diving range, and close to all the hiking, fishing and trail
riding he can handle. The Lake House. A little resort in the middle
of beautiful Radium Hot Springs, BC.

Peter was great. Very easy to deal with and made sure we were well taken care of. The house is very dated but clean and all the amenities one needs. We had a large group dinner (20pax) and the space is fantastic. Fire pit is great, full sun deck and pretty much everything you need. There was a mud slide on the Highway and although it didn't delay us, there was a bottle of scotch on the counter with a sticky note stating, "Mudslide Relief" when we arrived!Did you find this review helpful? The place was exactly what we needed! Lots of sleeping space and bathrooms, with a great size deck and fire. There was plenty of wood available for use as well. You feel like you're kindof 'away', but yet still within walking distance to the town if you want to go get a coffee or icecream cone :) Thanks again!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Our family held a reunion here and found this to be an EXCELLENT place for that type of event. Great places for camp fires, kids to roam, barbecuing to happen and games to be played. Nice big kitchen to cook meals for about 21 of us. Huge living room with massive fireplace for a great visiting area. Some tented in the yard, had an RV there, and we all quadded on Crown Land nearby. The owner was very accommodating, checked on us frequently, and bent over backwards to meet our need. Although this is an older place(80's maybe?), and a bit of updating needed in decor, nonetheless it worked great for little kids and big kids too. Would recommend this for a large group, as the outside property is immense. Lots of good places to park.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

The house is located next to the Bighorn Meadows Condo project and is less than a 10 minute walk to the Springs at Radium Golf Course. There is a large yard with plenty of parking and a nice deck with a barbecue and outdoor patio furniture. There is a fire pit with wood (which we did not use as we were quite busy every evening). The area is very quiet and peaceful. The house has 3 bedrooms upstairs with two bathrooms and downstairs there is one bedroom with a full ensuite bathroom. It is a nice, large, modern house with plenty of wood panelling, modern appliances, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and plenty of towels and linens. It is a lovely home away from home. It is clean and we appreciated having the large landing when you first enter the house as we could remove our shoes as the house has mainly carpets. There are games , books, and T.V.s available which we did not use but others could find useful. Working with the owner also worked well for us. Although we did not meet, we sent emails and had telephone conversations that assisted us in making good decisions. He was personable and wanted to make certain everything worked for us - and it certainly did.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Recently stayed at this great spot in Radium on a guys' golf weekend. Everything was clean, well maintained and gave a very comfortable "homey" feel. Hi Pete. Well, for a trial run I thought your place was great. No real comments other than that the bed was we slept in was fantastic, and Gene loved the big flat screen. I think it's ready to go.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: I'm a writer and teacher of dramatic arts. I'm an avid golfer, former tennis pro, and love to travel, socialize and keep fit.
Why the Owner Chose Radium Hot Springs:
My Dad bought the property in 1983 when Radium was mostly unknown and the golf course not even built. Since then, the town has grown up around us. Dad participated in the building of the course and the development of the town. Our family has had many, many wonderful vacations here. We literally call it paradise. It's easy to get to from the airport in Cranbrook or Calgary, but remote enough and big enough to give you the feeling of being in your own little resort in the middle of it all. It's a short walk to the shops, restaurants, the pub and food store. I spend a lot of time at the driving range, which is literally about a minute walk from the door. Twelve minutes away is the town of Invermere which has all amenities and which sits at the top of Lake Windermere where you can sail, swim, rent ski boats or jet skis. Or just lay out on the sandy beach while the kids play in the sand. Note that I have a suite of my own on the property, so you might see me chopping wood for you.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
The Lake House sits on 2 acres right in the middle of town, right between the 9th and 10th fairways of the Springs Course. It's absolutely unique. It's quiet, private, expansive, and yet right in the middle of everything the town has to offer. No noisy neighbours next door. I like to have a coffee sitting on a log in the woods, and then walk to the clubhouse for an early tee time.
