No water in our house from the storm! You will be able to enjoy this oceanfront home on one of the quietest beaches in Harvey Cedars. Sit on the deck and watch the ocean, or walk over the private walkway to play in the waves or dig in the sand. With a lifeguard on duty in the summer months, it's the perfect family vacation!
The home offers 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, with one king, one queen and 4 twin beds. There's also a convertible couch in the family room. Sliding glass doors from the master bedroom and family room lead to the upstairs deck with panoramic ocean views. The downstairs deck offers seating for outdoor dining and a gas grill for a summer barbecue. For entertainment there are 4 televisions, 2 dvd players and internet access.
When you're tired of the ocean, Sunset Park on the bay is just 2 blocks away. It offers tennis courts, basketball courts, a large playground, baseball field, horseshoe courts, crabbing pier and a bay beach. Walk or bike to restaurants, miniature golf and shopping. Atlantic City is just a 40 minute ride away.

We had the great luck of perfect weather during our stay, which was just fabulous. The house is in a perfect location, although you cannot see the water unless you are on the top deck. This is because of beach restoration that created a much deeper dune system to protect the island homes. But, its an easy walk on a private boardwalk to the waves, and the beach is beautiful. The house is comfortable, but the kitchen is tiny, which was difficult for us as we cook a lot. There could also be some "freshening up" inside- new pillows and beds (or at least mattress pads) would be nice, for example. Overall, it was a comfortable house with a good layout, and it was really nice to be able to bring our doggies. You'll enjoy your stay!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are definitely "freshening" up the house for next season! The master bedroom and upstairs family room both will have brand new furniture. The bedding will be fresh and clean and ready for a comfortable night's sleep!

We stayed at this house from Labor Day weekend 2012 into the following weekend. No doubt, the location of this house is perfect. Right on the beach with their own private wooden path to the beach that allowed my mother in-law, who has difficulty walking, to reach the end of the beach and sit at the top of the path and sit on a chair so she can see the whole family while on the beach. The wrap around porches on both levels of the house made the whole house accessible from the inside and outside and gave us a great view of the sunrise on the east and the fireworks display from Sunset Park on the west. This park was only a couple of blocks from the house that gave the kids an alternative activity area with it's fishing pier, tennis courts, walking paths and playground. Harvey Cedars also has a Bay Beach a couple of lights away that's appropriate for younger kids. This is only one of few beachfront houses that would allow pets, so our family dog was able to enjoy the vacation with us as well. The appliances may have some rust on them, but it is understandable since you can feel the constant moisture from the beach. It was great to have good water pressure in all the showers including the outside shower, which even had hot water! What an easy way to clean up coming from the beach. The spacious parking area was also a plus. As well as the extra property between the house and the beach where we were able to set up a volleyball set. Would definitely recommend this place.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

About the owner: Having grown up coming to Long Beach Island with our families, we knew we wanted to share the beach with our children. We spend a few weeks every summer here with our kids, friends and our dog Bailey. We love to play in the surf and take long walks on the miles of beach.
Why the Owner Chose Harvey Cedars:
Harvey Cedars has one of the best beaches on Long Beach Island. Where our house is located there are no public streets or parking, so the beach is much quieter than the other beaches, even on holiday weekends. The island is only two blocks wide where we are so we get the benefit of both the ocean and the bay.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The best part about our property is that it's right on the beach with it's own beach access. You can play on the beach, run back to the house for lunch and take a shower in the outdoor shower after a long day in the sun.
