Our experience was better than expected. The country location is bucolic and just the right home base for exploring Sonoma's wine country. The property looked professionally cleaned, full of amenities. The lake and recreational area was a plus for relaxing. We would recommend this property and the restaurant Bravas in Healdsburg.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We loved the house. It was so comfortable there was nothing we wated for. It was so great sitting out on the spacious deck. Then being able to hike and hang out at the lake. The owners were great about giving all the info not only about the house but everything to do in the surrounding area. Overall it was a great experience. We can't wait to go back.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We spent 1 night with our parents (total party of 6) in the country house and we have fallen in love with the cozy, spacious and lovingly furnished place. It has everything you need and the area around is just beautiful!! Deers came along to say "hello", the lake nearby as well the terraces created around the house invites for relaxation and offers marvelous views. Furthermore our hosts provided us with plenty of great tips for good food, vineries and so on... All in all we had a perfect time - only drawback: 1 day is not enough! So we have to and will come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, romantic getaway.

This is a great vacation house in a nice, quiet part of Sonoma just a little ways away from the major touristy areas. It's still close to all you want to do, but not in the thick of it. One of the best things about it is the access to the private lake and club. We had a great time relaxing and swimming and using the various kayaks, canoes and paddleboards and water trampoline! The owners of the property are very friendly and helpful if you need anything or have any questions. The house was clean and spacious with a nice big patio to enjoy the sun.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Owner info
About the owner: We are a retired architect and attorney with three grown children. We travel widely and enjoy staying in one place and taking time to explore the region around it. We love wine, good cooking and great restaurants. We love to hike, bike and swim. We have a city apartment in San Francisco which can be paired with the country house for a remarkable vacation in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Why the Owner Chose Geyserville:
This is one of the most beautiful and famous wine country area in California, if not the United States. This is a little bit of paradise, only one hour and a quarter away from San Francisco. This area is not only perfect for wine lovers and foodies, but also those who like to hike, bike, canoe, kayak and swim. It is perfect for families with children of all ages, or couples who want a quiet country retreat. The house is sited on a country lot in a private rural community which has its own swimming lake fed by freshwater streams, a sandy beach and clubhouse. It is a perfect location to explore all of the wine country in Sonoma and Napa counties. It is close to the Russian River and not too far from the coast. There are antique shops and great restaurants in Healdsburg, the spas and hot springs in Calistoga, wonderful vineyards, farms and orchards dotting the countryside.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
The private lake and beach can be used year-round for picnics and barbeques. In the summer, you can escape the San Francisco fog for sun and swimming. The house has a large deck and there are outdoor tables and chairs shaded by sun umbrellas and a hammock for lazy afternoon naps. In the winter, there is a cozy wood-burning fireplace in the living room.
