Welcome to our vacation home in Wildwood Point subdivision on beautiful Lake Gaston. We call it our Wildwood 'Sweet' at Lake Gaston because it is our 'Sweet' suite on the lake.
Come to relax and enjoy all that our home, Lake Gaston and Wildwood Point subdivision has to offer. Peaceful, restful nights and water activity fun filled days! We like to spend the whole day on the lake or in the pool. So we launch the boat, ski, tube and wakeboard till we need a break and then tie up at the boat slips in the community area. We will either pack a lunch, get Subway subs, or take the boat to one of the area waterfront eateries. Then we can hit the lake again by boat, or swim at the WATERFRONT OLYMPIC SIZE POOL or float in the lake at the sun / swim area. You see, all of the amenities that make this rental so desirable are all in one area right where you park your boat and all amenities are waterfront on the main lake channel of Lake Gaston and only 3/4 mile from the 'Sweet'.
After a full day on the lake and after becoming somewhat more tan you can head back in to the 'Sweet' for the evening's activities. The kids usually like to catch a little TV while the adults unwind with a glass of wine. To my wife and I, the end of a perfect LkG day is returning to the 'Sweet' and grilling ribeyes & shrimp on the deck grill to the sounds of a crackling fire and our favorite tunes all the while under beautiful star light night skies. After a great dinner, get the kids to bed and enjoy relaxing on the deck by the light of the tiki's with a night cap and adult social time.
Our home can sleep up to a maximum occupancy of 8 (no more than 4 adults in any combination of 8 renters - please see website link / rental policy) with the King, Queen, Twin beds and sleeper sofa. It was built in 2003 and is modestly sized, clean, fully equipped, has full access to all lake activities and is a truly affordable vacation rental opportunity for spending quality family time on Lake Gaston. Even though it is not waterfront there is no lack of water activity opportunities. The fact that it is off waterfront is what makes this rental affordable for family time vacations! You can RENT a boat or PWC with your savings if you dont already own a boat at one of the nearby marinas! If you own a boat, BRING it!
Wildwood Point Subdivision offers a waterfront community olympic size pool with diving board as one of the many amenities of the subdivision. The pool is located in one central point of the subdivision on the main lake with 360 degree views of beautiful Lake Gaston. Nothing is more relaxing to spend time around the pool while the kids play and enjoying the warm sun, breezes and unbelievable views of Lake Gaston. All within the community center area there is also a playground, 13 day boat slips, lake swim area, sunning pier, picnic tables, charcoal grills, basketball goal and ample shoreline fishing areas. There are also two boat launches in the neighborhood for launching your boat or PWC!

The house and area was great. Very disappointed with boat launch and taken it in and out of the water each day. The swimming area (beach) was very nasty. The club house is not very well kept. The swimming pool is not for very young children. and the play area for children is in bad need of repair.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
Owner response: The boat slips are for day use and the boat launches are very gentle sloped and easy to load and unload your water craft. The lake swim area offers a 13' deep swim area at the pier and a small sandy beach area for children to wade in that is roped off and boats can not enter the area. There is no kiddie pool, only shallow wading area on the steps of the pool. For a off-water front home in a pool community with lake access and boat launches this is an exceptional value on Lake Gaston.

Our stay at Wildwood "Sweet" was a delight. We found the the house was just as described and very clean. The owner was excellent to work with and definitely wanted us to be pleased with our stay. She also was helpful in recommending a few places for us to eat during our visit at Lake Gaston. We would recommend this home to others.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

About the owner: We grew up on and around the lake and left to attend college and then started our family. We are originally from the Lake Gaston area and have always wanted for our kids to experience lake life. For years our family has vacationed on Lake Gaston to enjoy quality family time, water sports, fishing and getting away from the everyday stresses of life. Until a few years ago all our LkG experiences were from my dad's waterfront home. We have always had a dream of waterfront home onwership for our kids to enjoy the experiences we enjoyed all our life on the lake. However, my wife and I both realized that the dream of ownership of a waterfront home was slipping away with the unbelievable increases in home prices in lake front property. We finally came to the decision that an off waterfront home in a community offering many amenities was the most affordable and sensible way to enjoy Lake Gaston! After purchasing and owning our home in Wildwood Point Subdivision for several years we are now confident that you truly do not need to have waterfront to have an enjoyable, relaxing Lake Gaston vacation. Although we would like to be there every day of the year we are afraid that we cannot and decided to give vacationing families another option on LkG! Our Wildwood 'Sweet' at Lake Gaston was built in 2003 and is the perfect place to relax, make smores, grill out with family and friends and rest up for the next day's activities on Lake Gaston. It is a more affordable rental than waterfront but still has all the access to the water as a waterfront property. Add in the Wildwood Point comunity amenities that no other subdivision on Lake Gaston has to offer this vacation rental opportunity becomes even more appealing. With your savings you could rent a boat, jet ski, go golfing, eat dinners out at one of the many local resturants or whatever you like! Why the Owner Chose Henrico:
We chose to buy in Wildwood Point subdivision because it not only has full access to the lake for use of our boat but it also has the pool, playground, swim area, sun pier, boat slips and is close to the areas best restaurants, conveniences, and marina's. The first summer that we were here we only put the boat in the lake once because the kids had so many activities with other kids around the pool, swim area and pool.
The locations is located conveniently between I85 and I95 interstates 1/2 way between Richmond, Va. and Raleigh, N.C. Even if the weatherman calls for a bad weather day on your stay you are just a short drive away from shopping in Richomd, Raleigh or the brand spanking new Tanger outlets in Mebane, N.C. or the Carolina Premium Outlets in Smithfield, N.C. Make your week long stay a lake and amusement park stay. Kings Dominion is only 1 1/2 hours away and the Williamsburg favorites of Watercountry USA, Busch Gardens are easily accessible for a day trip.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The home is just a short distance to the community area. We like to pack lunch for the day or grab Subway subs, launch the boat and spend the day in the on the lake and in the waterfront community POOL and BEACH area. We can ski, tube and wakeboard till we need a break, tie up at the boat slips and eat snack. Then we can hit the lake again by boat, or swim at the pool or float in the lake at the sun / swim area. You see, all of the amenities are in one area right where you park your boat. We often return to the 'Sweet' late in the day, the kids take in a little TV while we relax and prepare the grill, shrimp and ribeye steaks for dinner!
Our favorite evening activity is eating steamed seafood at the Lake House restaurant or relaxing on the back deck after grilling ribeye steaks and fresh seafood. After getting the kids to bed we enjoy an enjoying a night cap on the back deck under star light and in the afterglow of a wonderful day of family fun filled water activities.
