This was a perfect spot for us.. it was the end of the season, so we mosty had the area to ourselves.. the cottage was just right.. had everything we needed to relax, read, eat well, inside and out.. ! I was sorry to read the review from the previous visitor. We found the cottage to be perfectly functional.. the bed was comfortable.. we cooked easily in the kitchen... the shower was clean and easy to use.. We have already talked about returning next year..

Location great, but cottage not so
Location great, but cottage not so
The cottage is in an excellent location, with terrific access to both bay and ocean beaches, as well as P-town. The yard in the front is really nice. However, the well-groomed exterior is deceiving. The inside is small and dirty, with a minimally functional kitchen. The bathroom is awful. Most notable is the rotting wood molding that is the sole divider between the shower area and the rest of the bathroom; the water from the shower floods into the bathroom when the shower is used. The unit is in serious need of an overhaul. For instance, there is peeling paint on the ceiling and walls in all of the rooms, rusted picture frames on the walls, the beds are uncomfortable, and the drawers are hard to open and close. Flat screen TVs in 2 of the rooms does not make this better. We tried to make the best out of these circumstances by staying outside as much as possible, but in so doing, learned that the mosquitoes render the yard a challenge once the sun goes down. The cottage is overpriced and most definitely not recommended for people with children or allergies.

Owner response: I am very sorry that this renter had such a negative experience at my cottage. They arrived following the hurricane and because of the hurricane that weekend my cottage did not get cleaned. Usually it is in very clean condition when renters arrive. If not, all renters are requested to call me and any concerns regarding cleaning will be immediately addressed. The kitchen is fully equipped but small with a large sink, a fairly new stove and refrigerator. I don't understand how it was considered minimally functional. The exterior of the cottage was painted this past spring and the interior is due to be completely repainted this coming spring. Sometimes when it is very damp the wooden draws are hard to open. I am planning to replace the offending chest next spring along with the couch in the living room. The wood acting as a thresh hold for the shower is teak and is not rotting. The bathroom was renovated to accommodate a wheel chair. It was done in ceramic tile two years ago. If the shower head is kept pointed downward, as suggested, there is no problem with water getting into the bathroom. The mattresses are fairly new and we have never had a complaint about their comfort. This renter had an opportunity to address their concerns regarding the cleaning of the cottage and chose not to do so until the day they left giving me no opportunity to correct the situation. I have been renting since 1997 and have never gotten a bad review. I hope perspective renters will read the other positive reviews.
You can't go wrong with this charming cottage. There is such a feeling of privacy and spaciousness. Considering the close proximity of other rentals in this area, this cottage feels almost like a private house on the beach (which by the way is great!) We were there when the heat was intense and yet we were quite comfortable. The constant breeze blowing through the cottage was wonderful. We were very comfortable and everything we needed to live there for 2 weeks was available. The owner provides excellent customer service. We would recommend it to anyone and hope that we will be able to return.

Loved It! What a sweet cottage.
Loved It! What a sweet cottage.
This cottage was perfection, the sun rises, sun sets and night skies were spectacular. I loved the way the gentle wind would blow the curtains and the kitchen small but more than adequate. At first it seemed strange to be vacationing so close to my home, but staying on that end of the Cape provided endless opportunities to explore the outer Cape. And this time of year was the best.

Charming beach Cottage near all
Charming beach Cottage near all
My husband and I stayed at this charming cottage the week of July 4th, 2009. We absolutely loved staying here- a truly equipped cottage right down to charcoal for the BBQ grill. There is a large flatscreen tv with DVD player in the living room and a smaller flatscreeen tv in one of the bedrooms. The bathroom was recently remodeled with new floor tile and shower. The kitchen although small, is a working kitchen with 2 windows, small stove with oven and all the things needed to cook a meal. Both bedrooms have closets for storage. There are wonderful wide-plank, knotty pine floors throughout. The cottage was easy to keep clean and very bright and airy- with 2 windows per room and pretty large when compared with other cottages on Shore Rd. My only wish was this cottage was a little closer to the beach. There is a path you take to get to the beach that is about a 300 foot walk to the beach. The cottage is laid out in a horse shoe shape surrounding a nice patch of grassy area- perfect for a game of volleyball. Lastly, the cottage is located close to everything- you can pick up the shuttle across the street, bike ride along shore road, there's Day's market down the street for light groceries and all of Provincetown's retaurants, nightlife, galleries and shopping is a quick drive or bike ride away. I will be back hopefully next year.
