Needed a get-away with 4 friends to just walk, talk, and drink wine. Didn't really care where we went but thought let's try Colorado. What an amazing treasure we found here. The house is amazing with the views, the decor, the balcony, and the trails and hikes you can take from this house. We planned to eat out every night but we never wanted to leave in the evenings so we either picked up food and brought it back or had cheese and crackers and of course wine. Plan to make an annual trip to our treasure get-away.

During our week long stay we had daily snows. The driveway and roadways were plowed as needed. We had trouble with the tv cable reception and Five Diamond sent out there own maintenance man after comcast was not able to fix the problem. We had a new router and were able to cheer for our March Madness favorites. This house is well equipped with extra bedding, a fully stocked kitchen and truly the best views from the front windows. this is our second year in this home and we will continue to try and return here.

Every Feb. our L.O.S.T. (Ladies On Skis Together) weekenders gather (12 - 24 of us)for a wonderful gathering of cooking, laughing, sharing, snow sports and caring for each other. we've done this for 18 yrs now and with 5 Diamond's help we chose Bear Lodge. Great weekend getaway for us all (11 this year). It was a lot of stairs but those stairs accessed a lot of floor real estate which was beautifully and whimsically decorated. Very well appointed with an upscale wildlife decor like we've never seen. Note: the backlit salmon in kitchen was most amazing and caught everyone's decorative eye, so masterfully done. We did have some plumbing problems in the bottom level bath, we had an emergency number to call & did receive a calback, straightaway. Fabulously stunning view from our living/dining floor & top deck in Wildernest. Outdoor access for ski gear, great idea. Everyone should walk away from a rested vaca at Bear Lodge along with some greatly creative decorating ideas to boot for your own 'mountain lodge' (home or away from home)

Our family of 9 (2 married children) stayed here for a beautiful summer week. We we impressed with the clear view, private lot and beautiful "woodsy" yet luxury decor. Caution on the two stairways to the living area. Not for visitors with any gait issues; but definitely worth the trip up for the view. The location gave us good starting point for trip back to Denver airport/shopping and trips to 3 mountains, spa in Idaho Springs, and grocery and outlet mall shopping. Yet we had a completely quiet and serene spot on the mountainside. Pro: I easily cooked all meals in the hub-like kitchen of the great room on the top deck, great appliances, service for 10, new extra large laundry equip. Con: Bakeware selection could be expanded by a pizza pan or cake pan or cookie sheet. Pro: The management company was super about responding to internet connection issues even on a weekend. Con: The security deposit took 3 weeks and two phone calls to get back. As an area issue, Golf is too expensive here to make flying your clubs worthwhile. There are plenty of other things to do including fabulous sunsets on the Dillon dam and rafting the arkansas River.

My wife surprised me by booking Bear Lodge for us and some friends for my birthday weekend. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a long weekend! We loved the easy access to all of the surrounding ski areas (we skied both Vail and Breckenridge during our stay, and you can see Keystone from the balcony). The lodge was great and the views were spectacular! The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and the large open kitchen and living area made for a great place to hang out with all of our friends. My wife loved that Bear Lodge felt like a “home away from home”, with charming cabin décor. Our stay came with everything we needed. The private driveway was plowed, and the kitchen was stocked with all of the cookware and utensils we needed to cook our own meals. Bear Lodge also offered easy access to tons of great restaurants and breweries – it’s close to everything. I would definitely recommend Bear Lodge to anyone, and can’t wait to go back!

What a beautiful home. This is a great place to stay anytime of the year. Very nice home, well decorated and nicely furnished with a great kitchen for cooking and entertaining. Last year we experienced the turning of the Aspens during September. The home is surrounded by Apsens and the space between homes allows for a very private setting. There are great views from every window and door in the home. The decks have great unobstructed views of the lake and mountains. The decks were terrific for relaxing, and enjoying the scenery and the cool weather. We also enjoyed hiking, golfing and the abundance of micro breweries in the area. An almost daily visit by a fox was a plus. We missed seeing the moose this year but saw them several days last year. There is always something to do in Summit County, when we had the urge to get out of the house (just pick up a copy of the Summit News at the entrance to the cul-d-sac). Easy access off of I-70. It was a perfect vacation. We are looking forward to next year when we plan to return again.

My family and some extended family stayed here for a long weekend. There were 5 adults and two children and still plenty of room for more! The place is very nicely furnished with a great kitchen and family area to hang out as well as isolated bedrooms if you just need some time away from your crazy uncle or for the kids to take naps undisturbed by the fun! It has a great location up on a hill just off I-70. So you have easy access to get around Summit County but also great views when at the house. This place would be great for winter family or friends getaways and also would be great for summer time stays as well. I've definitely added it to my short list of VRBO places to use yearly!

Our family spent Christmas at Bear Lodge in 2010, and had a wonderful time. This was our first ski vacation in Colorado with our twins (18 months), and the snow and weather was fantastic. The large bedrooms and bathrooms were great since there were nine in our group. Everything was new, so it was like being at home or staying at a high end hotel. The home is located in a private neighborhood with awesome views of the mountains, ski areas and Lake Dillon. My wife enjoyed shopping at the nearby outlet stores and they were awesome too! Anyway, the pictures on the website don't do it justice. We thought we might need to rent a SUV to get there (we rented a car). However, when a snow storm hit, the snow removal company had already plowed the driveway before we were ready to go. We had no problems at all. Wish we could have stayed longer. We'll be back.
