Maison Violette is one of the best kept secrets in New Orleans, the historical French Quarter home offers a unique New Orleans experience with gracious Southern hospitality.

Maison Violette is located on the historic Esplanade Avenue. Esplanade Avenue runs from the Mississippi River front to the intersection with Carrollton Avenue just past Bayou St. John, and the entrance to City Park. Many 19th century mansions still line the street; it functioned as a 'millionaire's row' for the Louisiana Creole section of the city.

The home offers guests a step into the past, yet new and comfortable accommodations with its recent masterful renovation which offers a luxurious, clean, modern comfortable feel. Amenities include a fully furnished kitchen, slate counter tops, stainless appliances in addition to all that one could wish for to cook a gourmet meal, a Japanese soaking tub in the spa like serene bathroom setting, a king size bed dressed in all of the romantic elements the city has to offer and a front porch with a swing to sit back, relax and watch the spirit of a city that is truly alive!

The location of the Maison Violette sits in the heart of New Orleans. No need for a car while staying at the Maison Violette, everything is within walking distance. You want to walk the streets of New Orleans and take in all of history and vibrance the city has to offer as you explore all of the many neighborhoods.

New Orleans offers endless entertainment and attractions through out the year. Stroll the streets and experience all the best attractions, the Riverfront, the French Quarter, Jackson Square, the Fauborg Marigny, the live music venues, famous restaurants (you have to experience a Friday lunch at Galatoire's), the shopping, the museums, the casino, the street car and of course the nightlife, its all here in walking distance!

There is a queen sofa sleeper to accommodate additional sleeping arrangements.

Maison Violette worked well for our stay. It is in a lovely location and walking distance to everything. While there is not a shower, the bath tub is awesome and worked well for us. No issues there! The kitchen is well equipped. It is a classic NOLA living space and served our purpose for what we needed.

The house had every accommodation we have in our own home. We were able to save money making dinners and lunches each day. After a coupe days we felt like authentic locals sitting on the porch enjoying the atmosphere. The soaking tub was great and relaxing, however it was a pain to shower and not make a major mess. We will defiantly stay again regardless of the shower we had a wonderful time in NOLA. the friendly people and constant beauty won us over. Thank You Maison Violette!

I have stayed in many VRBO's around the World and this place was fair to average by my standards. The furniture and television are outdated and not in the best of shape. The location is excellent and is the most attractive feature. I think the unit is over-priced and to not have wi-fi or a working television was a major drawback to me. The unit was cold, dank and dark. The noise can also be a factor since you are arond the corner from neighborhood bars and jazz clubs and the patrons tend to be rowdy when this let's out. The unit was always cold since the weather was unseasonably cold by New Orleans standards and I am an unusually warm person. The heating system seemed to only heat up the back rooms but the front living room was always cold. To not have maid service at least every other day for this price was another major drawback. The linens on the beds needed to be replaced and the bed was one of the most uncomfortable mattresses that I have slept on in a very long time. There is no shower in the unit only a bath tub and it takes a great deal of maneuvering to keep the area dry when showering in the mornings. Overall I think this is an OK unit but should be reduced by at least $75.00 to $100.00 per night for what a patron actually gets in return.

This was an amazing location to explore the French Quarter - right on the edge of the bar scene, galleries, and shops and overlooking a great people-watching street. The walls and art need some repair, but overall it is a beautiful space. The pillows were not very comfortable, but the bed was. The downside of this property is the lack of a shower. The bath was amazing and the perfect complement to the long days of long walks, but washing my hair in a tub was challenging. The kitchen is well outfitted. I would consider staying here again.

My girlfriends arrived last Saturday and stayed 3 nights, there were four of us. It was a great apartment with an excellent location. We could walk everywhere and the Krewe du Vieux Mardi Gras parade passed right the street where we could see it from the porch. We did the street car one day to see St. Charles street but it was very easy not to have a car. We also had amazing food. I especially recommend Cafe Amelie which is tucked back into a courtyard very close to the house. Bring from Minnesota, it felt magical to eat a delicious dinner outside looking up at French Quarter buildings. Thanks Maison Violette for a fun weekend!

We rented this condo for our vacation to NOLA. The location is fantastic-on the edge of the FQ and right near the hip Frenchman Street. Great to walk to the French Market and Bourbon Street but quiet enough to enjoy a beer on the front porch swing. It was also easy access up to the main drags if you are venturing out of the quarter area. The decor was lovely, the bed was comfy and there were more than enough towels and we felt right at home.

The house was beautiful! Kudos to whomever remodeled and decorated! The location was great since it wasn't in the middle of the tourists and French Quarter houses too close to one another. Esplanade Ave. is open and wide and is nicely located between the Marigny area (around the corner from Frenchman St. where Blue Nile, Vaso, and other live jazz/R&B/etc. spots) and the heart of the French Quarters. My family and I were within walking distance from French Market, Bourbon St., Cafe Du Monde, and Jackson Square. Since it is a duplex, there is supposedly someone staying next door, but we never heard a peep from anyone. Also, we parked for free on the street in front/near the house overnight and all day on Sunday. There are also some spots on the street near the house to park for free either all day or every two hours, depending on the street signs. Customer service was great and quick! I would recommend this property to anyone and would stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at the Maison Violette for the 1st weekend of Jazz Fest April/May 2012. The pros of Maison Violette - - The location is great, around the corner from Frenchman Street and one block to the French Quarter. Esplanade is beautiful street with gorgeous houses. - The apartment is big and spacious, and even has an outdoor deck in the back (although small). - The pictures do the place justice and we were very pleased with the house. - There is a washer/dryer which is a huge plus. The cons of Maison Violette - - The bathtub with hand-held shower head is the greatest down fall of the place, especially if you are there for Jazz Fest. Spending hours in the hot humid sun and walking around in flip flops at the festival - you get dirty and want a long hot shower after a full day. And the hand-held shower head just doens't do the trick. Not to mention washing your hair is a major pain. Plus getting in and out of the large tub could be hard for some - because it is high and the tub is deep. - The owners are very strick on check in/check out times If it wasn't for these two cons - we would have rated this place a "Excellent" instead of "Good".

I had to write a review because I was so pleased with the home and the hospitality of the maison violette - the entire experience was perfect. I wanted to get away for a fun relaxing weekend and this home provided the perfect get away. The home was beautiful and depicted all that the New Orleans historic beauty encompasses. The location was so convenient. It was in the center of the historic district, the French Quater and the Marigny. Everything was within walking distance, restaurants, local music, parks, french market, and on and on. I would come back here and stay over and over again. I would highly recommend this home! It was just perfect. It offers a great true New Orleans visit and the home is gorgeous. I have also stayed at this same owners home in Santa Rosa Beach and it was just as delightful of an experience. I wish they had a home in all of my vacation stays because I trust the houses and the service I will receive. It makes my vacation hassle free.
