Thank you for a lovely holiday in this beautiful house. We have just returned from a 10 day stay on Duck Key. We found the agent, Kristin, to be friendly and helpful through our email contact, though there was never any need to meet her when we were in the Keys. The house is exactly like the pictures. It is within walking distance of all the amenities on Duck Key itself - most of which are related to the big Hawks Cay development. The house was beautifully maintained and well equipped. It has the feel of being someone's home, but yet there was plenty of drawer space to put our stuff in when we got there. The kitchen is large and well equipped with lots of plates and glasses etc and a large fridge and freezer. The pool gets the morning sun and is warm enough to swim in all day - though by about 7pm there are too many biting insects to stay downstairs! At that point the covered in porch comes into it's own and we sat there long into the evenings enjoying the view of the canal, protected from the biters! Duck Key is small, but there was still enough distance for my husband to get out for his daily 10km run, including running along a path by the main road off the Key for a short distance. There wasn't any information in the house on what to do, but it's easy enough to find out and the Wifi worked perfectly letting us have good internet access. We enjoyed: - meals out at Tom's Harbour House (walking distance) - a day trip to Key West (just over an hours drive) - snorkelling on Looe Key (just under an hours drive) - beach and supermarket at Marathon (fifteen mins away) - scuba diving with Dive Duck Key - hiring a boat from the marina at Duck Key (Sundance watersports) - a day at the Dolphin Research Center (five minutes by car) - a visit to the Turtle Hospital in Marathon (twenty minutes away) - kayaking at John Pennycamp State Park at Key Largo (just over an hour away) - day trip to Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale (all day trip - two hours to Miami, two and a half to Fort Lauderdale) Being half way down the Keys suited us very well for exploring. All in all, a lovely house, in a great place and in very good condition. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Thanks for a lovely time!
