We spent 2 nights at the "Rascal's Flat" with friends, there was plenty of room for the 3 couples, the house was decorated so nicely and had absolutley everything we needed for a mini get away. The agent David was so easy to work with and I would recommend this rental, the location, the house, everything was just perfect!
Owner response:Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a nice comment and we hope that you will be coming back soon.

We just had our wedding up at Big Canoe and my husband and I stayed in Rascal's Flat and enjoyed every minute! David Sharp with Mountain Home Rentals was AMAZING to work with! We had a ton of friends and family staying up at Big Canoe in various homes, and I think ours was the BEST! Sunday, after the wedding, my husband and I stayed the day and just relaxed and enjoyed the day on the deck soaking in the sun. It was wonderful to come into a home that was clean and had all the necessities needed to be comfortable. The AC worked great and the fireplaces were awesome in the evening when it got chilly! There was plenty of toilet paper - I forgot my conditioner for my hair, but they even had that! There are so many homes that don't take that into consideration and it was great not to worry about any of that. The home was very spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you could need - cable, internet the works! We had such a wonderful weekend and we could not have asked for a better place to stay! Thanks David and crew for making our weekend so awesome!
Owner response:I work so hard to make renting with Mountain Home Rentals a great experience and so appreciate you recognising everything that we do; thank you!

This was our first return to Big Canoe since 2007. Great getaway from flat SW Fl. House was clean, well-appointed, and convenient with the master on the main level. Great TVs and wifi. Location within BC is excellent, close to tennis, golf clubhouse and fitness center. Our "Westie" got plenty of exercise up and down the three levels. Also, Laurel Ridge afforded a good place to walk the dog and a short drive to a field for walking and dog-play. Overall, we enjoyed our visit very much and would return in the future.
Owner response:That was a very nice review and we really appreciate you taking the time to post a comment. We hope that this will bring you back again.

With family coming to Atlanta from Miami and LA, we decided we would head to the mountains with them for the weekend. The property management company had several locations and David _____ was helpful in listing the pros and cons of our final choices. Ultimately, proximity to the main amenities of Rascal's Flat prevailed over a more spacious, mountain-like house. Note, there is really nothing mountainesque about Rascal's Flat; rather, it is a cluster home that could be part of any newer Atlanta neighborhood subdivision. From the outside, the home doesn't look terribly large, but actually there is quite a lot of livable space. The home is fairly new and is very modern (countertops, appliances, furniture design, etc.). The house was very clean including the screened in patios and the gas grill on the deck. We were able to eat most of our meals in the house which was great (note - there is a very good grocery store about 2 miles from the entrance of Big Canoe). Although the house is close to eh amenities, we could not figure out an easy way to get there (especially with kids). Instead, we just made the 3 minute drive which was no problem at all. In sum, this is a great place to spend time if just hanging out (including a pool table in basement) and its location is great. Just keep in mind that you don't exactly feel like you are in the mountains most of the time. A rustic cabin it is not, but that was fine with us.

Future Big Canoe Visitors - Stay In This Awesome Cottage!!

Nothing but great things to say. My friends and I just returned from a wedding up in lovely Big Canoe this past weekend and I have to tell you - this cottage made our weekend! Every last detail - from the spacious, open living room to the three fantastic porches (with big cushion-y lounger chairs) to the super-comfy king-sized beds to the chic decor (no cheesy cabin knick-knacks to be found!) made this THE BEST place we could have possibly stayed! We were the envy of all the wedding guests - who stayed in nearby cottages - it was really that nice! It was clean as could be, stocked with all the necessary kitchenware and even toiletries in the bathrooms. It's the little things that count, like fluffy, new-looking towels and luxurious-feeling sheets that make this girl a return customer. Believe me, next time I visit Big Canoe I will plan it around a weekend that this cottage is available! Close to everything we did and with a pretty view, too. Not to mention the owner was extremely accommodating and even picked up his phone well after 6pm on a Friday night and gave me directions when I got lost! I didn't want to leave when Sunday rolled around, but I will be back!
Owner response:Thank you very much for the review. We really go the extra mile to make our homes the best that can be with the best amenities and so appreciate your noticing.
Recommended for:Pet owners, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with teenagers.
