This apartment is in the heart of old Buenos Aires in an 1800's french apartment building. It is two blocks from the presidential palace, next door to the City Museum, across the street from St Francis Cathedral, a few blocks from San Telmo and Puerto Madera. The apartment is furnished in French antiques and artwork from an international artist, Francisco Adaro. The stained glass doors are original as are the parquet floors. It is like stepping back into a time gone by of elegance and taste. The building has a doorman and when you step into the antique elevator the transportation to anther time begins. The apartment has all you need for a fabulous stay in this very safe, very old and very vibrant part of the city. The March of the Mothers took place for years around the central square and if you squint your eyes at dusk, you may see echos of Evita from the balcony of the Pink House. A street fair of artists 2 miles long takes place on sunday just outside the door of the building. The apartment is extremely quiet, there is no traffic noise. Restaurants abound on all sides and antique shops line the avenue. It is a short 5 dollar cab ride to Palermo Soho and La Boca.

This Property is Located in the heart of Buenos Aires in the Capital. San Telmo is where most of the art galleries as well as tango clubs are located. It is 2.5 blocks from the famous Cache Florida where you can buy as much leather as you like as well as the famous Galleria Shopping Center. Charming Property and Great Owner !!
Three of us spent a week in San Telmo in this charming 2BR apartment in a very safe and secure building in San Telmo a short walk from the Presidential Palace (not to be missed) and easy access to many parts of Buenos Aires. One thing we will remember is a mourning dove that was nesting on 2 eggs right outside the window. Whimsical artwork grabbed our immediate attention. Our travel plans were upset by a transportation strike and we were fortunate to have such a super owner to work with....she made all the difference in the world. Both beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for preparing meals. If you want a quiet, good night's sleep, this is the place to be as it is an interior unit facing a courtyard of sorts on two sides with plenty of windows and doors. Plenty of light! Local residents know to choose an apartment like this. Contrast this to a hotel we stayed in for one night that faced a street with traffic noise all night long. Highly recommend this charming property. The owner had an on-site manager that we also came to know well and who took care of us thru several travel situations. He only speaks Spanish so our son was the interpretor. The Sunday market on Calle Defense was truly amazing...not to be missed. Great restaurants and a couple of small grocery stores are a short walk from the apartment. Fruit and vegetable market nearby was quite fun (a city block in size)...where a movie was being filmed. Restaurant Petanque (nearby) owner was quite the host of a very fun evening. This was our first trip to Buenos Aires and Argentina and thanks to the owner we had a memorable trip.

My wife and I enjoyed a week at this apartment in mid-March, 2011. The restored building, originally built in the late 1800s, has a definite Belle Époque look and feel with its long spacious corridors and fourteen foot ceilings. The small, open cage elevator could be straight from Paris. The warm inviting interior of the apartment is a veritable kaleidoscope of warm, decorative art. Unique contemporary portraits in every room add a contrast to the antique furniture. There is plenty of floor space, with combinations of tile and wood parquet flooring in the various areas. The large kitchen is up to date, with a four burner gas stove and large refrigerator with ample freezer space. We cooked and ate two meals in most every day, and found enough cookware to get by. There is an abundance of crockery, china, and silverware. A small table provides an eating spot in the kitchen, and a larger dining table is in the main room. The queen bed is comfortable, with plenty of spare bedding. An alcove can be screened off for a second sleeping area. The single bathroom retains some of its original fixtures, including a large, free-standing claw-footed bathtub. Both air conditioning and heating are available, but we didn’t require either with daytime temperatures near eighty. The Apartment, two floors above street level at the back of the building, has the very important quality of silence in the middle of this noisy, rambunctious city. There is light in every room from windows that open onto two separate interior light wells/courtyards. The location is near the center of action, two blocks from the main square with its subway connection points. The Puerto Rico Café, right around the corner, presents quality tango and flamenco entertainment on weekends. A twenty minute walk to the south is historic Plaza Dorrego Square, where there always seems to be some tango action to enjoy. The simple and straight-forward logistic arrangements were made at the last minute from the numerous public telephone sites in B.A. to the owner’s cell phone in Florida. The Spanish-speaking building Porter acted as the owner’s agent on-site, and was very helpful to us getting settled in. Dealing directly with the pleasant owner turned out to be much easier than the relatively complicated arrangements with a professional rental business during our previous rental in BA.

Rental Agreement and Policies Rental Agreement and Policies This vacation rental contract is a legal agreement between 1. CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 4 P.M. Buenos Aires Time CHECK-OUT IS 11 A.M. Buenos Aires Time A late check-out is subject to extra rental charges. There are no refunds for early departure. 2. All properties require a 4 night minimum stay. Longer minimum stays, usually 5 nights, are generally required during holiday periods or for special events: XMAS, Thanksgiving, New Years etc. If a rental is taken for less than 4 nights, the guest will be charged the 4-night rate. 3. NO DAILY MAID SERVICE - Rates include a one-time linen-towel setup and cleaning the day the tenant leaves. While linens and bath towels are included in the house, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate, however, additional cleanings are available at an with longer stays. More than 7 days. 4. This is a NON SMOKING unit. A $500 penalty fee will be charged to your credit card if we find evidence of smoking inside the property. 5. PETS are not permitted in rental units. A $500 penalty fee will be charged to your credit card if we find evidence of pets at the property. 6. The Renter must be 20 years of age to book this rental property. 7. Tenant will leave the premises in good and habitable condition. Leave it as you found it. Guests will be responsible for paying any damages caused directly or indirectly by themselves or their guests during their stay. We will charge your credit card for any damaged or missing items. Landlord or his/her agent will submit to Tenant an itemized list of any lawful deductions and any damages that have been caused by the Tenant within fourteen (14) days after the termination of the tenancy. 8. Tenant shall behave in a civilized manner and shall be good neighbors respecting the rights of the surrounding property owners. The Tenants shall not create noise or disturbances likely to disturb or annoy the surrounding property owners. Creating a disturbance of the above nature may be grounds for immediate termination of this agreement and Tenants shall be evicted and then immediately vacate the premises. 9. House Activities – No candles are to be used at any property at any time. No parties/showers/gatherings are allowed without consent from the owner. 10. Tenant agrees to use and occupy the leased property at Tenant’s own risk and hereby indemnifies Owner/Operator from all claims from any injury or death of any person or for the loss of or damages to any property of Tenant or Tenant’s agent, guests, or other third parties. 11. Owner reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. Owner will not be responsible for accidents or injury to guests or for loss of their money, jewelry or valuables of any kind. 12. CAUTION – Step down/up is required at some properties. 13. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY - The maximum number of guests is limited to eight (4) persons in the apartment. 14. Owner reserves the right to terminate a reservation at any point. Tenant will not create a nuisance or excessive noise that interferes with the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. 15. Tenant understands that owner has made every effort to accurately describe the premises via pictures and descriptions. If the property does not meet Tenant's expectations, but does meet the basic standards of habitability Tenant will not be entitled to a refund of rent money and will have no claim or recourse against the owner. 16. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS - Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check-in. 17. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS - Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance. 18. HOLD HARMLESS - The Tenants and Tenants' Guests shall hereby indemnify and hold harmless the Landlord/owner against any and all claims of personal injury or property damage or loss arising from use of the premises regardless of the nature of the accident, injury or loss. Tenants expressly recognize that any insurance for property damage or loss which the Landlord/owner may maintain on the property does not cover the personal property of Tenants, and that Tenants should purchase their own insurance for Tenants and Guests if such coverage is desired. 19. This property is privately owned; the owners of the property (“Owners”) are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the rental premises or its facilities. The Owners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, you agree to release Owners (and all of their partners, employees, officers, agents, representatives), and agree to indemnify them against, and hold them harmless from and against, any and all injuries, liability, claims, demands, causes of action, costs (including attorneys' fees), to or by you, or to any other person you bring onto the rental premises or to any third person, that arise from, with respect to, are in any way related to or in connection with, directly or indirectly, your presence, rental, occupation or use of the property premises; whether or not caused, in whole or in part, due to the sole, joint or concurrent negligence or gross negligence of the owners. 20. This is on a street with all the art shops and ecclectic restaurants. It's literally 1.5 blocks from a subway stations that takes you anywhere in the city, including Retiro if you choose to leave the city. There is also the main bus stop 1.5 blocks away as well so you can jump from place to place without making too many different connections. This property has a parking garage next door so if you do decide to rent a car you can have safe parking. There is also a protero who lives in the building with his lovely wife who are more than happy to help you if something breaks or you can't find a taxi or have questions about the city. They are a great resource and keep the apartment on lock down so that you and your family feel safe and sound.

We are only two blocks from Plaza de Mayo, the presidential palace, the start of Florida Street, the subway, the city museum is next door, a huge cathedral is three steps away. The apartment is lovely but quiet and full of light. It is the start of 3 miles of artistic street vendors on sundays but the quality of the furnishings makes your stay lovely.
