My wife and two year old daughter stayed at this home recently. It was a great location as all the boat traffic kept our little one very entertained. We were literally steps to the Ballard Locks and fish ladder. You are very close to a great attraction and can walk home in minutes. The park next door makes for a great picnic spot as well. The living room is all windows so the views are great! We loved the bridge and railroad close by (the noise wasn't bad at all). Overall it was a great place to stay and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. I appreciate it very much. You were super guests! It makes me want to do this forever when guests enjoy themselves and this location like you did. Come again anytime!

This house was gorgeous and very comfortable! We had 5 adults and 1 child and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The location was convenient to many Seattle neighborhoods and Gina included an informative binder full of restaurant suggestions, grocery stores, etc., which made it very easy. I would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind remarks. I am so happy for guests who enjoy the location. Thank you for visiting!

We were in Seattle for 4.5 months for medical treatment and Gina's home was the perfect stay in every way for us. First of all, it is spacious and comfortable and the location is just beautiful. We could look for hours out onto Salmon Bay, watching the boats of all shapes and sizes going by and were able to witness the Christmas Boat parade in December. There is a railroad bridge crossing the shipping canal very near Gina's home, but we found that we loved the sound of the train rumbling by and it didn't bother our sleep. The home is a 10 minute walk to Discovery Park, the largest city park in Seattle, with miles and miles of nature trails and views of Puget Sound. We walked nearly every day across the fish ladder foot bridge to the neighborhood of Ballard for shopping and coffee! I would recommend Gina's apartment without reservation and I can hardly wait to go back! Gina was a perfect landlord and was always open to helping us and meeting our requests in every way she could.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your lovely response. You were wonderful and energetic guests! I am pleased that you enjoyed the location and took in the nearby parks and amenities. I hope you will visit again 'just for the fun of it'. I wish you both health and all good things.

Our week in Seattle could have easily have been filled just sitting in the living room staring out the windows at the boats, trains, sea lions, etc.! Fortunately we were a bit more motivated than that and managed to take in many wonderful Seattle attractions. We walked across the locks to Ballard, where we managed to find a coffee, tea and toast cafe and have a fantastic lengthy dinner at Ray's (not on the same walk of course). The photos above don't quite do this house justice, we were pleasantly surprised (which doesn't often happen). There was plenty of space for three couples to comfortably co-exist for five days without wanting to kill each other. The house was impeccably clean and well stocked and Gina was so friendly and easy to work with! We would absolutely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Your fun group was most adventurous! You delighted in Seattle like kids in a candy store, dashing everywhere and loving the adventure. You were most wonderful guests, and great traveling friends! I am pleased that you walked to some of the nearby restaurants. Thank you for helping other travelers by sharing your experience. I am thrilled that you enjoyed your stay here.

The second you walk through the front door you will know that you made the right choice. This home has breath taking views. The pictures shown do not do justice to this peaceful, gorgeous waterfront home. And I do mean waterfront. From just about anywhere in the house you have a perfect view of Puget Sound. It is very close to all the action of Seattle, but the neighborhood feels miles away from city life. The host has made sure that you will feel right at home, she has thought of everything. My wife and I love to travel and have stayed in a lot of places but this is a new favorite. I really believe this is one of the best kept secrets on VRBO. Thanks Gina for having us, hope to see you again soon. LGRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Your southern charm and courtesy made you the most welcome of guests. Thank you for staying. I am happy you enjoyed yourselves here. Come on back anytime. Gina

A truly amazing place to enjoy summer. We came to escape Texas heat.Did that and a whole lot more thanks to Gina and her amazing rental here in Magnolia. We were fortunate to enjoy quality time with family.Everyday was special as we saw herons, seal, and our favorite, the new osprey starting to fly. Then there is the daily boat collection passing in front of us.All sizes and types-tugs,commercial fishing boats, bridge pontoon for the floating bridge being built. Many yachts. All the boats pass thru the locks,a stone throw away where you can observe the lock operation.Having a car was helpful, zip downtown quickly and easily.I cannot imagine getting to know Seattle without Gina and her special hideaway here in Magnolia.A very restful and enjoyable place after a full day of exploring Seattle.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It was so fun to have your group. You are the nicest people ever! It makes the VRBO experience so rewarding for me when new guests enjoy the location and take in it's waterfront activities. I hope you will visit again, as other guests do. You will be warmly welcomed back anytime. Thank you for staying!

We enjoy our stay at Gina's property very much. The first night there we saw seals, the Wizard from the Deadlest Catch, and an eagle flew right past us and sat on a dock two houses down to eat it's fish. We enjoyed watching the boats go through the locks and Discovery Park as well as our many trips into Seattle. The Seattle Aquarium was great, you can learn all about the sea life of Puget Sound and a late lunch at the Space Needle was excellent. The place was very clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable, lots of hangers in the closets and a medicine cabinet filled with anything you might have forgetten. Oh and I almost forgot she had a snack basket waiting on us when we got there which was perfect with a hungry teenager in tow. I was concerned with only one bathroom but we did just fine. My only suggestion to Gina would be to have some towel hooks to installed so that we could hang up our towels easily after a shower. We hung them in the laundry on hangers which worked well so that we did not have to wash them every day. So as you can see if that is my only suggestion you can't go wrong staying here. We always use VRBO when we travel and this is by far one of our favorite places to stay. We all are "home sick" for Seattle and can't wait to go back for another stay. They place was perfect for my husband, myself, our 16 year old and my 21 year old Goddaugher. Gina also takes any unopened food you leave to the local food pantry which I think is very cool of her to do. You won't regret staying at this property.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the nice post from Illinois! I appreciate your great idea and towel holders will be installed pronto! I am so happy you got to take in so much of Seattle. Do come and stay again anytime, you were wonderful guests.

Gina- Your place has become my Seattle writing home. On Saturday everyone else went their own ways except for me. The weather was beautiful on the deck and the house so lovely I stayed at home wrote most of the day. The views are amazing! Who needs TV when it's an adventure and a special treat to watch the trains and boats pass by. Thanks again for everything. Everybody else out there in cyberspace, please read the reviews below- including mine. If you're planning a trip to Seattle this is the only way to go. I'm already recommending it to friends. Wait! maybe I'm messing myself up here... Nevertheless, you won't be disappointed.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a wonderful location! The views from the living room exceeded our high expectations. We stayed a full week and were sorry to have to leave. We only wish we had had more time to just take it easy in this lovely home. It is in a wonderful location in beautiful Magnolia with easy access to Ballard walking over the locks and through the Botanical Gardens and to Discovery Park only a few blocks away. It is an easy drive to all the central neighborhoods in Seattle and downtown. There is a stunning full view of the canal and sound from the expansive windows in the living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. We enjoyed watching all the boat traffic in the canal and through the locks and trains over railroad bridge just adjacent to the house. We were not bothered by train noise at all. The location is very quiet except for train traffic. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need and four can dine comfortably. It was great to have a washer and dryer. The home is well decorated and furnished with comfortable beds and furniture and immaculately clean. There was excellent communication with the owner. We would definitely recommend this home and hope there is an opportunity to stay here again in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Gina- you are amazing! The house was great, exactly what we needed for our Seattle vacation. Everyone who commented below 'hit the nail on the head' with their praise. I don't have one complaint. The garden was lovely and the house beautiful. The property was well stocked with all the basic household supplies- a trip for groceries and we were set! The location of the house itself provided relaxing entertainment; the variety of boats and wildlife passing by were a delight and the trains weren't an irritation at all, just another interesting embellishment to an already fantastic home. We'll be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was a wonderful place for a long weekend in Seattle. Right on the water, with a great sunset view from the living room or the patio. Gina's house was immaculate, with a fully equipped kitchen. Beds were comfortable, and two of the bedrooms had full views of the Sound. The house was just as pictured and described, modern and comfortable. The best thing for us was the water. All boats going to and from Lake Washington, Lake Union and the Sound pass by your window. It was a constantly changing view, gorgeous yachts to scrappy tugs and everything in between. In addition, the railroad bridge was close by. The ad mentioned that there was noise from the railroad, but we found it to be the best part of the visit. The trains seldom honked, so we just heard (or felt) a bass note, that sounded to me like a Japanese drum performance each time the trains went by. They weren't annoying or obtrusive in any way. It was really a highlight for us, watching the railroad bridge silently close, then a train pass by, then a tall sailboat tooting to have the bridge opened, and this pattern repeating itself through the day. I heard the trains the first night, but all of us slept through them on the second and third night. Otherwise, the house is very quiet. The neighborhood is great, there is great access to everything, and it was the best place I have ever stayed. It's easy to get to Ballard, and the Lockspot Cafe, Anthony's Homeport, and The Market Arms Pub had great seafood (The Market Arms Fish and Chips was outstanding, and the Lockspot was a good place to walk to for breakfast). I recommend this house very highly. It was great. Thanks, Gina!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I am so happy you stayed and enjoyed the location so much. It is so gratifying when guests enjoy the waterfront as much as I do. You were over the top, wonderful guests and will be welcomed back in a heartbeat. Thank you for staying!

We just came back from a 5-day stay in this property and we could not be happier with our choice. The house is very well appointed, the location is great and the views are amazing. We got to Seattle after touring Oregon for a week, and we appreciated having a comfortable and inviting place where we could relax. The house is a short walk away from the locks, great parks and the Burke-Gilman trail. We like to cook and we found everything we needed to make use of the excellent local produce and seafood (heavy copper-bottom pans, Henckels knives!), and you can also find great restaurants across the locks in Ballard (don't miss Besalu coffee shop). Communication with the owner was great throughout the process, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. My only warning: if you are planning to drive around Seattle, be aware that you might be tempted to just chill out on the deck or the living room watching the boats go by -- and you won't regret it!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your nice review! I'm sure others will appreciate your insights for this location as well as local activities and walkability to great sights from here. You came a long way to visit, so I am especially happy you enjoyed your stay, and our civilized Seattle summer weather. Your family gets the award for being 5 star guests as well. You will be on the 'very extra welcome repeat guest' list!

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful waterfront home. Waking up at this house made me feel like I was on an Island. The wildlife just outside the living room window was unbelievable. You have one of the biggest Seattle Parks, Discovery Park, walking distance from the house. Then you walk across the Seattle Locks to the city of Ballard. You can view the Salmon in the Viewing Center literally 5 min walk from the house. We would also take cabs into Downtown Seattle for activities such as the Space Needle. I would recommend then place to anybody that wants to see Seattle for its true beauty. The owner is a wonderful woman, who will assist you on any advice you need about the city. She is great. Hope this is Helpful. We so enjoyed our stay in this immaculately kept waterfront home. The views are truly unbeatable and it was endlessly entertaining to watch and see what kind of sea creature or vessel would pass by. We actually saw a sea lion in the water! It was also stunning at night, too. We found it very convenient to be located at a small walking distance to one of the great local attractions, The Locks, and shopping and dining options in Ballard. One of our favorite eateries, Chinooks, is also nearby. We went into downtown Seattle almost daily to visit the attractions and it was so easy to travel to. The home is clean, beautifully furnished and upscale. In many ways, it felt so luxurious to be at the waters edge with so many amenities that really make a vacation stay comfortable. We were thoroughly enchanted by our experience and stay at this waterfront home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
