We stayed for four nights & five days. It was the perfect place. The cabin was more than what I had expected, the view was amazing. Everything needed was there. The people of the town are friendly & real. We totally enjoyed every minute there & it was really hard to come back home. We will be planning another trip to Green Mountain Falls. Fell in love with the town, the cabin, and with Colorado. Everything to do is close by & we wish we could of stayed longer.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. We enjoyed the Lodge and the Green Mountain Falls area so much we didn't want to leave. On reflection, we should have cut the rest of our holiday short and stayed on for at least another 2 nights. The Lodge itself was very well equipped. Plenty of towels, a fully equipped kitchen (including larder items eg salt, pepper, sugar, coffee etc) and a washing machine (with detergents etc). Despite the fact that the previous renters had only just moved out the morning we arrived, the Lodge was spotlessly clean. The Lodge sits on an enviable spot overlooking the Gazebo Lake. We loved the terrace and spent many hours relaxing on the lounge chairs enjoying the fresh air and views. Green Mountain Falls itself is a very small village and a 10 minute drive to the more touristy Mantou Springs and 20 minutes to the Garden of the Gods. We definitely preferred staying at Green Mountain Falls - the Lodge was a great place to relax after a day out. The Pantry, as other reviewers have said, is a short stroll down from the Lodge and serves the best Bison burgers I've ever had - as fully loaded as a burger can be! We also loved the hiking in the Green Mountain Falls area. The trails start virtually by the Lodge itself and there is a useful trail map on a board by the Gazebo Lake. There are printed maps to take away too. The trails were fairly easy - anything from an hour. We enjoyed the scenery so much we managed several trails in one stretch. We only bumped into 1 other hiker all day. All in all, the Lodge in Green Mountain Falls is a fabulous place to stay if you like a little peace and quiet. If you want hustle and bustle, go elsewhere! Would we recommend the Lodge as a base? Absolutely yes.

My family loved Buffalo Sunrise Lodge and the community of Green Mountain Falls. We stayed there in mid Jan 2012. The lodge is nice, new, and fully furnished. We had no problems with the downstairs tenant. He is a nice man and asked us once if he was being quiet enough. We never heard a sound from downstairs the entire week. The Pantry, Mucky Duck and Silverspoon Devil Saloon are a must. We are already planning to go back to Buffalo Sunrise!

Overall, the property was very nice and clean. However, the lower half of the cabin is rented out as an apartment. On our first night there I was awaken by a screaming man. This renter talks and screams in his sleep. Renters in the bottom half also partake in smoking and I am not sure it is a legal substance and then light incense to cover the smell. It was awful and I had two small children with me. We had to open the windows and doors and since it is the middle of winter we had to turn the heat and fireplace on to keep the place warm. I would recommend this cabin only if the renters in the bottom half are not there.

Owner response: Oh, Larissa, I am so sorry. I wish that you had let me know what was happening while you were here so that I could have dealt with the problem and your vacation would have been better. There is a strick no smoking policy anywhere indoors and if that has happened, I was not aware. We have had many people stay at the lodge, and all our reviews have been excellent. I surely wish this had not happened to you. My husband has already talked with the tenant and immediate steps have been taken to insure that this does not happen again. I did find a few articles of clothing that belong to your family when I was cleaning the lodge. They are being laundered and I will send them to you. Again, I am so sorry, and I wish that I had know things were not right while you were here instead of after you were gone. I hope all your vacations in the future are perfect. Kindest Regards, Nan

The place could not be more perfect and we can't wait to return (hopefully next summer)!! The host was amazing and most helpful and accommodating. We also enjoyed breakfast each morning at The Pantry down the hill, great biscuits and gravy. The location was perfect for us to go to Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge, Garden of the Gods and Helen Hunt Falls. Met all our expectations . . . THANKS, Nan!!

We only stayed for three nights, but the view was wonderful. The lodge was very clean and stocked with plenty of towels, wash clothes, washer and dryer items, kitchen items (including coffee), a fantastic BBQ grill, and plenty of dishes to use. The pictures and information on this site were perfect and accurately represented. If we are able to travel back to Green Mountain Falls, CO, we will stay at Buffalo Sunrise Lodge again.
