Fishtrap Lake Resort is home to two rustic cabins set in the midst of gorgeous natural beauty along the shores of Fishtrap Lake. Two cabins are available for your Northwoods getaway: The Whitetail Retreat which is located footsteps from the sandy shoreline of Fishtrap Lake and The Bear Den which is surrounded by a serene forest of trees with breathtaking views overlooking Fishtrap Lake. Both cabins are three season cabins, meaning no heat is supplied during winter.
Both of Fishtrap Lake Resort's cabins feature full kitchens, dining areas, living rooms, ceiling fans (no air conditioning), bathrooms with showers and two bedrooms. The cabins deliver magnificent views of the lake. Our cabins are private and secluded offering you a peaceful, relaxing, and fun vacation getaway for your family and friends in the Great Northwoods. A private pier is available for use as well as 180 feet of sand and plant frontage along the lake. During winter, please make sure temperatures are comfortable for your party.
No matter the season, there is plenty of recreation available at Fishtrap Lake Resort and the surrounding area. From dog sledding to snowshoeing in winter to kayaking and bicycling in summer, there is no shortage of fun in the Musky Capital of the World. My husband and I just spent a week at Whitetail. The cabin was very comfortable and close to the water. The view from the dining area is absolutely beautiful. We saw a great blue heron and a bald eagle from the deck. The property is great for fisherman and kayakers. The owners were very helpful and went out of their way to be sure we had a good stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

Just got back from a week in the Whitetail cabin. It was a great experience with only one other cabin within site, plenty of room for the dog to run and swim, our own private pier, our own private boat ramp, our own fire pit, our own deck overlooking the lake, our own picture windows overlooking the lake, and a good lake for fishing and boating in general. The water in front of the cabin is fairly shallow and weedy so make sure to check with the owner if you have a big boat. Our 17.5 foot IO did fine. The owner is very nice and accommodating. I would recommend staying here.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners.
