My wife and I were looking for a place to get away and unwind. We happened upon Villa Vashon through the Vashon Chamber site. The description and pictures were enticing. When we arrived, I was blown away. It was everything described and more. The villa is immaculate, private, romantic and equipped with everything needed. Bonnie has thought of everything. The view is amazing and the sound of the waves is relaxing. We will return.Recommended for: Romantic getaway

We actually live on Vashon Island but I wanted to do a staycation for my 40th birthday eve. Vashon Villa is a lovely suite right on the northend of the island a stone's throw away from the ferry dock. Its a great place for Seattle natives and visitors to even walk across for a night away (I believe there is a Vashon Taxi service but you should check if you won't be bringing a car as its a long walk into town). I also highly recommend it for native islanders looking for a date night or a classy place to put up visting relatives. Its very quiet and peaceful. You can hear the waves in the morning just a few feet from your room. Definitely recommend and will come again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway

This was total pampering for my little girl and I! We had had a rough month with my husband having had surgery and needed some R & R for ourselves without having to travel too far! We couldn't have picked a more beautiful spot, more comfortable surroundings and more gracious host and hostess. Recommended for anyone who needs to recharge. Thank you Bonnie and Dean! We'll be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We really enjoyed our late winter stay at the Vashon Villa. The decor is well done in an asian antique flair, yet modern too. A very comfortable, cozy feeling right when you walk in the door, along with a beautiful view. Although its only an hour away from home, it seems much further, especially at night when you can hear the gentle waves come ashore. The island is very quiet and relaxing, and has some beautfiul drives along the water. It also has some really great restaurants, Mays and The Hardware Store in particular, thanks to Bonnie's recommendations :). We plan to be back in the summer, so we can enjoy being outside more.Recommended for: Romantic getaway
Owner response: Thanks so much and I look forward to seeing you in the sunshine season!

The Villa Vashon was an incredibly comfortable, magical and pampering retreat experience for my husband and I for the weekend of our wedding. It seemed that every corner we turned there was another subtle "surprise" to care for us and ensure a memorable, yet relaxed retreat. The Villa is very well-stocked with just about anything you may need during your stay. Fall asleep the sound of gentle waves lapping on the shore and rise to a gorgeous sunrise over the glistening water.... Thank you, Bonnie and Dean for your exceptional hospitality and thoughtfulness.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My husband and I attended a family wedding and this is the ideal place to stay. The Villa is convenient to the ferry yet it is very private and quiet with great views of the water. We enjoyed the openness plus abundant sunlight via the numerous windows and skylights. The deck was the perfect spot for morning coffee and evening cocktail to watch the ferries come and go. There are binoculars to use to watch the seals, birds and eagles. The well-planned modern kitchen and bath have many amenities. The landscaping adds to the beautiful setting. Bonnie was very pleasant and offered many helpful suggestions. Thank you for advising us to dine at 'Mae Thai Kitchen'. A delicious dinner and experience. (Sit at the counter and let the bartender order for you.) If our travels bring us back to Vashon Island, Villa Vashon will be where we will stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I are often looking for great places to stay that are within one hour driving distance from Seattle. We like to call them "staycations", and we try to do them as frequently as possible. While a hotel in the city can be a good option, we found that there are many other creative spaces available just a stones throw away. This is definitely one of them. This was our first time staying at Villa Vashon, but it will most certainly not be our last. This cozy oasis is perfect for people looking to escape their day-to-day, slow down and relax. The room is setup perfectly, with a well appointed kitchen, beautiful deck with a view, unique furniture, comfortable bed, great tv, and an amazing movie selection (Netflix, too!). The perfect getaway for anyone that is looking to have a slower pace on life, even if it is for a couple of days. One of the best of this property is that it is right off the ferry dock, and minutes away from town. You can literally see the ferry coming into Vashon, which makes catching the ferry back an easy task.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much Henri. I look forward to you and your wife visiting again. There are artist studio tours in the Fall and Spring as well as the farmers market every Saturday. We now have a brand new 5 star Thai restaurant that is worth the trip as well. cheers Bonnie

This place is beautiful and just what I need for studying. I loved the view and listening to the waves at night. The sunrise is awesome from the patio!!! The full kitchen helped to keep my expense down. It is only 7 minutes from the school. I plan to stay here again. Thank you, BonnieRecommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This property has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. There was soft music playing and the heat was on when we arrived late that evening. And our bed was warmed with heaters! This property I imagine is great all year round. We were there for a rainy weekend in March but loved looking at the views and being cozied up in the space. Lots of great natural light and you do feel like every need has been considered and met. And for Seattle Folks this is a perfect place to get away for a week or a weekend!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Wendy ! I'm so glad your stay was everything you hoped for, for you and your hubby!

We stayed New Years weekend on short notice, everything was perfect! Loved this space, felt totally at home and completely comfortable. Great views and close enough to the shops, restaurants and hiking trails. Bonnie was so friendly and welcoming. She even had champaigne for us and lovely Stargazer Lillies on the dining table. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Thanks again Bonnie! Steven & LindaRecommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Villa Vashon offered a restful, open interior space, well-appointed kitchen - one of the best we have ever experienced in vacation properties, generous storage and dressing area, nice bath, background sounds of waves washing ashore and lovely water view - even the comings and goings of the ferries. We will surely want to come again to enjoy the gracious hospitality - light breakfast makings, comfortable linens, special touches that included robes and slippers, soft throws, a great TV, a variety of reading materials, and much more. Felt like we were staying with family in a great suite! Thanks!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for your wonderful words. It has been such a bonus to meet folks like you and your husband and experience our island through your eyes. We loved hosting you two and look forward to seeing you again when on the island to see your son. Thanks again.

I was able to book Villa Vashon in the morning of our arrival. The place is seconds away from the ferry dock but tucked away from any traffic. The villa is beautifully decorated with Asian antiques and punctuated by rays of sunlight from the sunlit ceiling. One gets a constant sense of the water with views out to the ferry and towards West Seattle from where we came. The bed is comfortable and surrounded by constant sound of the waves. While we spent most of the day exploring Vashon, I wished we had checked in earlier to take advantage of the relaxing room. The kitchen is well-equiped but the Mexican restaurant next door also serves up a mean fajita. I highly recommend Villa Vashon and am sure to return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Tak. I appreciate your descriptions and am gald you were able to break from your studies and have a get-away.

The villa was perfect! Beautifully appointed just as described, and was just right for our romantic weeklong trip to Seattle/Vashon Island! The deck looks right out on the ferry pier and it's great to watch the crossings. The suite had everything we could have needed, we just added a few groceries. We enjoyed seeing all the sights and having a great place to call home when we were tired. The commute to West Seattle to see more sights was very easy! we loved it & hope to come back again next year. thank you Bonnie & Dean!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

As West Seattle residents Vashon Island doesn't seem like a "get-a-way" destination, but from the moment we stepped into the Villa Vashon suite we felt a world away from home, responsibilities, cares and chores. The space is wonderfully appointed - visually appealing - and wait until you use the individual bed heaters. I cozied right in with my book, some soothing music and a toasty cocoon of relaxation. It was heavenly. Bonnie and Dean are terrific hosts. Be sure to ask them for a garden tour as their property is available to rent for weddings, rehearsal dinners, family celebrations and the like. We are so happy to have found this little gem. We are tempted to keep it to ourselves but just have to share it with friends, family and all of you reading this review.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

As soon as you step on the premises you feel yourself relax and you know that you are in for a treat for the senses. Conveniently located near the ferry, elegantly asian decor, clean and all the amenities, views that go on forever and a super comfy bed! The nearby Mexican restaurant was great! My fiance and I just moved to Seattle from Atlanta, and we were looking for a last minute getaway where we'd feel miles away without the drive. I'd say that we got what we were looking for. Villa Vashon is very well decorated and equipped with everything you need to cook up a sweet dinner and then cozy up with your loved one. And if there's anything you didn't have, I know that Bonnie would help you get it. She was a wonderful host. I highly recommend staying here.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Bonnie was MORE than hospitable and helpful wtih ideas of what to do while we stayed on Vashon Island. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, great places to eat and wonderful people. This experience was so amazing and wonderful for us and our relationship and I would recommend that couple take advantage of this beautiful little getaway!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and had the most wonderful evening. The villa was warm and quiet and so romantic. We loved watching the ferries glide back and forth. In the morning we watched an eagle, seagulls, crows and ducks from the deck. My husband brought his lap-top to catch up on some work and never opened it!Did you find this review helpful? We were lucky enough to attend an event at this beautiful and unique island villa awhile back, and would definitely return. The owners know how to please, whether a couple or a crowd, and are there to help (cheerfully) without being intrusive. The food, music, decorations, accommodations, and atmosphere were done with just enough world-class panache to make it special, and just enough 'down-home' for guests more at ease with the familiar. No one left there unhappy. The photos don't really do it justice. You don't get the feel of the lush green and multilayered Zen-garden-space where the events are held, or the fresh breeze off the Sound. All the little touches were done with quality in mind, and we loved watching sailboats, city lights, and the ferries docking close by. The studio was perfect, clean and private though it was a mere few steps away from the festivities, and a welcome respite I'd highly recommend for a big event or a just weekend away. E. P. Our stay here was very relaxing. The owners were welcoming and helpful and made us feel right at home. We walked the beach, had dinner next door at the Mexican restaurant and enjoyed a great movie from bed. The bed was very comfortable and my husband loved that when we turned over we did not wake each other up. We slept better than at home! In the morning We made ourselves breakfast and enjoyed a beautiful sunny morning.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
