This delightfully serene location will loosen every tight muscle you drag around with you every day. Sitting just 30 feet from the water's edge, you literally feel as if you're in a boat while sitting in the living room, without the seasickness. Though small in stature, this cottage is large in space, beautiful vista, solitude and quiet. With its 300 feet of shore frontage and only one cottage near by through the woods, it is a very private location. Set on the east side of the pond, this location is blessed with sunshine from early morning to evening, offering unbelievable sunsets across the pond. It has a huge deck as well as a 40 foot dock; great places for coffee, reading, sunning and afternoon cocktails. There is easy access for kayaks from the shore with lots to explore on Lermond Pond, and on the north side of the pond, just a 30 foot portage takes you to Alford Lake for the more adventurous kayakers.
The open floor plan gives this cottage an open and spacious feel. There is a small propane stove in the living room to add atmosphere and warmth on cool evenings. Dining is by candlelight. Next to the stove is a futon/chaise that's a perfect spot to have your morning coffee and watch the birds at the feeder, the ducks swimming by and the occasional great blue heron, bald eagle and other assorted wild life.
Its tiny, but very efficient kitchen with stainless appliances and gorgeous granite countertops, is easy to prepare even the largest of feasts. It's well equipped and has a great view of the pond.
The first floor master bedroom with attached 3/4 bath is breath taking to wake up in, with its large windows overlooking the pond. It has a king size bed.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and a 3/4 bath. One room has a full size bed, the other a queen size bed. There are lots of books and a few games to keep you happy reading in the sun or curled up with on a rainy day. The house is beautifully decorated, well appointed and very relaxing. Additionally, the house is located only 12-15 minutes from Rockland and Camden for great shopping, windjammer cruises and fine dining experiences. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, satellite TV/DVD, stereo with CD player, Wi-Fi,2 kayaks. Maximum 6 people. $1200/week, summer.
Winter rents are also available for $1200/week. The lake is frozen, perfect for iceskating, ice fishing and snowmobiling, then come in and sit by the propane "wood stove" and drink hot chocolate or hot toddies, read a book or watch a movie and relax. A perfect winter get away!

We stayed at Kim's lovely home for a week and enjoyed it tremendously. I kind of hate to say how much we liked it for fear it will not be available next time we'd like to rent(!) Kim is an artist and it shows in her beautifully decorated rooms throughout the house. Our daughters enjoyed the pond for swimming, kayaking and chasing frogs and dragonflies. The sunsets are outstanding. Wake up to loons in the morning from the window at the end of your bed. If you like birds, the surrounding woods are full of veerys, ovenbirds, hummingbirds, finches and many others. It's a little remote but at the same time convenient to Camden, Rockland, Rockport, Union, Boothbay and even Bar Harbor. We've rented many times through VRBO but this was one of our very favorites.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you Nancy for your lovely review of my home. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with you and Larry about the birds I hear daily on my property but never knew what they were. It was such a pleasure meeting you and getting to know a little about you and look forward to seeing you again. Kim

My wife and I thouroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage on a quiet pond. Every room in the cottage is tastefully decorated and there are windows across the front offering great views of the pond. The cottage is off the beaten path yet very close to Camden, Rockland and Rockport. The deck on the side of the cottage is great for after dinner drinks and watching the sunset. On several evenings we picked up some live lobsters and steamed them on the stove - nothing better. If you're into Kayaking, the pond is 50 feet from the doorstep and in this area of coastal Maine there are countless great lakes, ponds and harbors for the best Kayaking as well as hiking and biking. We've stayed in many vrbo properties over the last several years and the Maine cottage was the most relaxing and pleasant - we even got to catch up on some reading.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
